Release Day Blitz - Tru Smoke (Ember Peak - Book One) by Edie Danford, with Excerpt and Giveaway10/31/2016 Title: Tru Smoke Series: Ember Peak Book One Author: Edie Danford Publisher: Edie Danford Release Date: November 3, 2016 Heat Level: 4 - Lots of Sex Pairing: Male/Male Length: 90,100 words Genre: Romance Add to GoodreadsSynopsisWhere there’s smoke, there’s fire… Whenever Jones touches him, flames flicker in Truitt Larkin's smoky-gray eyes. Growing up in Ember Peak, Colorado, Jones nurtured dreams as big as the Rockies. Why else would a flat-broke college student believe he has a shot with Truitt Larkin, the billionaire CEO of Larkin Corp? And, sure, Tru might own the fab, five-thousand-acre Ember Peak Ranch, where Jones is just the son of a ranch employee, but that doesn’t mean a future with Tru is doomed, does it? When he finally, finally convinces Tru to break his chiseled-in-rock no-sex-ever policy, Jones is sure smoke will never shroud Tru’s silver-flame eyes again. But fire burns and dreams crash. And when Tru shuts down Jones’s hopes, Jones leaves Ember Peak—and a big chunk of his heart—for good. Tru knows he’s responsible for fracturing his valued friendship with Jones. Indulging his attraction to the younger man was selfish and destructive—something he’ll always regret. When Jones returns to Ember Peak for a family wedding, Tru wants a chance to heal their friendship and give back to Jones the comfort of coming home. But sparks fly the moment they reunite, and they scramble to douse the passion that’s burned them both before. Yet a flicker of hope glows brightly, and soon they need all their courage to see their way to a future together.ExcerptI was playing with fire. The phrase churned through my head even though it was the kind of cliché I’d usually have no use for. I knew too well that every worthwhile risk had a good chance at ending up in flames. I also knew fire could be hypnotic and beautiful and feel fucking great, especially if your soul had been encased in ice for a good long while. Being scorched by Jones Hudson and his amazing fire was like a ride to hell I never wanted to end. But what I wanted wasn’t good for me or for him, and so… This morning was gonna suck. It was time to pay the price for my selfishness, my weakness. I held back a sigh and glanced at the clock. 5:45. I had two hours. Two. Sweet Jesus. My fingers tangled gently in his hair. He’d fallen asleep like this—smashed against my side, one arm draped over my chest, one leg draped over my thigh, his face nestled into my neck—at least twenty times in the last week. Sex wore him out. For about ten minutes. My lips curved into a smile even though my heart was beginning to thump a pained rhythm beneath his warm grasp. It was dawn and the curtains were open on the room’s floor-to-ceiling windows. The sun wasn’t strong yet, but the newborn beams making it through the glass had found Jones’s hair. Talk about fire. My first horse had been a sharp little chestnut with a coat that had turned to flame in the sun. So pretty it had made my eyes hurt. Jones’s hair was the exact same color. His fingers tightened suddenly on my ribcage and I prepared myself to get hit with a dose of pure autumn sky. “Morning,” he mumbled, his voice scritchy as rough-grade sandpaper. More guilt there. I’d gone a little wild when he’d blown me in the elevator last night, his welcoming throat a temptation I couldn’t resist. He propped himself on my chest, opened his eyes all the way, and smiled. And there it was—eyes heartstoppingly blue and a smile that inspired me no matter how stale my dreams had become. “What’s wrong?” he asked, tracing the curve of my lower lip with his fingertip. He asked it, of course, even though I was wearing my best everything’s-cool face. Never could fool Jones. I could occasionally fool his mother. And on very rare occasions my half-sister, Sandra. But never Jones. I shook my head and tipped my chin for a kiss. His lips were chapped and I licked at them gently before going deep, wanting to taste him, refusing—goddamn forbidding myself—to think about how this was the last time I’d be with him this way. “Mmm,” he sighed into my mouth. “How can you taste this good?” “Because you crave the flavor of morning-after jizz, wine, and pizza?” He licked my smile. “Yep. Must be it.”PurchaseEdie Danford | AmazonMeet the AuthorAlthough her extended family hails from the Rockies, the Plains, and the Midwest, Edie has spent the last ten years in her Green Mountain home. Title: The Secrets in My Scowl M/M GAY CONTEMPORARY / STANDALONE Edited by: Tina Adamski Cover Artist – Jay Aheer PAGE COUNT – 312 Release Date: October 28, 2016
Thank you so much for visiting me here on GMR to take a look at my new MM contemporary romance, The Secrets in My Scowl, releasing today! I’m sure so many of my friends are just returning from GRL and it hurt that I wasn’t there to promote this new one; it’s been a while since I wrote this type of love story. But, I hope everyone had a great time and I’ll see you next year. In the meantime, I’ll keep writing. Enjoy the story. I want to thank GMR for hosting me again, they’re always so supportive of my work.
Sparks ignite and tempers flare when a sexy, optimistic wedding planner moves his business in across the hall from a jilted, divorce lawyer’s practice.
“Look smart ass. This is the last time I’m going to remind you about breaking sections of the lease. If there’s a next time, I won’t stop until you and your frilly, white wedding shit is thrown out of here. Do you got it?!” Wylde looked in Jacob’s pained eyes and answered in his deep voice. “Yeah, counselor. I got it.” From high school, up until he became a successful attorney Jacob Snowden was convinced that love had it out for him. “Everyone left,” were the words he lived by. His mother, his high school sweetheart, his father, and his fiancé, all left Jacob just when he felt it was safe to let down his guard. Not any longer. Jacob was a determined man, set at keeping people at a distance. If his six foot one, military-made body didn’t scare people off, his permanent scowl surely did. At almost forty, Jacob’s social life was non-existent, but he told himself his work fulfilled him. He helped people get out of their loveless marriages. Jacob Snowden was one of the best divorce lawyers on the east coast and was damn proud of it. So, imagine his disdain when a wedding planner moves into the suite directly adjacent to his… an insanely masculine, male wedding planner. Wylde Sterling had made quite a name for himself in his hometown of Roanoke, Virginia, working for a wedding planner that catered to the elite. He was known for his charm and impeccable taste. Yep, he was incredible at giving couples the wedding of their dreams. But he wanted nothing more than to plan his own. After striking out in love more times than he cared to admit, Wylde decided to start his own business in a new city, hoping Richmond would give him a fresh start. Things started out wonderfully – until he started to piss off the angry divorce attorney next door. Wylde could see past Jacob’s mean scowl, knowing there was a reason for it. It was the man’s defense mechanism, his means of keeping people away. Everything in Wylde told him to stay away, but he believed Jacob just needed to meet a man who had been hurt as badly as he had. This story ends in an HEA and does not end on a cliffhanger.
When you first meet Jacob, I was torn between feeling sorry for him and wanting to slap him for coming across as so selfish with his first boyfriend. Don’t get me wrong, he is actually a really nice guy, but there was something deep within him that made him think he would never be loved. I think a lot of this was because he never seemed to be shown any love at home, and the people he did love more or less deserted him.
Wylde – well what can I say about him! He knows who he is, and he is a happy go lucky person, but one that doesn’t suffer fools gladly. His last date before he moved was a prime example, how he didn’t actually punch the man I don’t know. Wylde is happy with his life, and never seems to let anything get him down. When he sees something he wants he goes for it full throttle! Jacob and Wylde first meeting will have you smiling - the uptight, grumpy, sort of unsociable divorce lawyer meets happy, friendly sociable male wedding planner….. yes the sparks do fly around a bit! Funnily enough though, it is Wylde who always seems to come out on top!! In some ways you can’t understand why Wylde even bothers trying to be nice to Jacob, but he obviously could see something that nobody else could. It takes a few times of meeting for Wylde to begin to break through the defences that Jacob has built up over the years, but once he senses a crack in the amour he is elated. Some of the happiness that radiates from Wylde seems to rub off on Jacob, and he seems to take a look at himself, and not necessarily liking what he sees. I think that Jacob is unsure of himself too, as he knows he wants to change but not sure how, plus he is still really uneasy about having a relationship with Wylde as things always go bad. Wylde totally gets under Jacobs skin, and then when he has a bad day, the first person that Jacob will turn to is Wylde, as just a hug from him seems to help Jacob calm and center himself again. However the big test for Wylde is when he wins a huge contract, and Jacob gets some bad news (which he doesn’t tell Wylde, not wanting him to miss on his big break). When Wylde finds out what is happening, he is straight to Jacob – even if others can’t understand why he is doing so. As the blurb says it is a HEA, so you obviously know they will be together, but there are still some ups and downs along the way. I have to admit to laughing with a kitchen scene and the sheet….. just think hot sex!! I am so pleased I was asked to take part on the release day blitz of this book, as it has really shown me another side of Adrienne’s writing, and this style really suits her too. You could feel the emotions of both MC’s in the book, but you also had the giggles at times too. I honestly look forward to reading more books like this in the future.
“Jacob, please. Please just listen a second. It’s not what it seems.”
Jacob shook his head in disgust at the cliché and turned to storm out the door, crushing the flowers under his boot as he did. The roaring in his head was loud, but the repetitive “I told you so” screamed even louder. God, he felt so foolish… again. He’d been played like one of the many instruments Mark had mastered. Jacob’s long legs ate up the parking lot as he moved quickly to his car. “Just give me one minute to explain. Jacob don’t go, I’ll send Reggie away right now. Please let me talk.” Mark jumped in front of Jacob’s path, almost making him fall for the second time today. Jacob growled in his face. “Move, or I’ll move you myself.” “No. I don’t care. Not until you let me explain.” “Explain! Explain what? That you’re fucking your best friend behind my back?” “No! I swear, I’m not!” Tears ran freely down Mark’s red cheeks and his voice was hurting Jacob’s head the more he tried to convince him he hadn’t seen what he did. Jacob gripped Mark’s biceps and yanked him into his chest. “Then why are your goddamn pants undone, huh? You let him touch your dick, Mark? You let him touch what you promised was mine?” Jacob’s voice was low and lethal as he pushed Mark away, but his heart ached so deeply. He grabbed at his chest and another wave of agony washed over him when he realized what his hand was pressed against. The cry he let out was one of pure suffering. “You proposed to me, goddamnit. What the fuck was that… a joke?” “No, I swear to god. I am yours, Jacob.” Mark cried louder. Jacob moved around him and Mark must’ve realized he was almost out of time because his pitiful explanation began to fly out of his mouth like projectile vomit. “I called Reggie just to talk. I was upset about the way I proposed and how you wouldn’t answer me. He came over and said he just wanted to keep me company. I don’t know… I don’t know how we started kissing. I was just so lonely. I’m always by my fucking self! I miss you all the time.” “I was just here this past weekend. Well, I guess I know now who warms your bed when I’m not in it. All I asked was for a little patience.” Jacob refused to sob in front of this cheating bastard. Whether he believed Mark or not, he could never fully trust him again. Once a cheat, always a damn cheat. When he became a lawyer, he may spend long nights in the office or days at a stretch out of town on a case, and he refused to have to worry if his husband was being faithful at home.

Haunted by what he lost in Afghanistan, Captain Jack Turner is at a crossroads. While the last place he wants to go is the Arctic, at least the routine mission gets him out from behind his new desk. But he starts off on the wrong foot with the Canadian Ranger guiding him across the forbidding and dangerous land, and Jack would rather be anywhere than sharing a tent with Sergeant Kin Carsen. The Arctic is in Kin's blood, and he can't seem to leave the tundra behind. He wishes he could live openly as a gay man, but the North isn't as accepting as the rest of Canada. Although he's lonely, he loves his responsibility as a Ranger, patrolling the vast land he knows so well. But he's on unfamiliar ground with Jack, and when they're stranded alone by a blizzard, unexpected desire begins to burn. Soon they're in a struggle to survive, and all these strangers have is each other. Note: This gay romance features emotional repression, hurt/comfort, adventure on the tundra, and love where you least expect it. I have decided I must be behind the times, as this is the first book that I have read by Keira Andrews!! I have checked the books she has written and I see I have quite a few to catch up on. Captain Jack Turner originally comes across as a really grumpy person, but this was just a front to hide his true feelings. He was at this time, very unsure of himself, not sure whether to trust his judgement, he was totally all at sea, and his actions were fuelled by his inner turmoil. Not really the best time to be sent to the Arctic, especially to someone who he believes is more or less beneath him. Kin is in the closet, but not really through choice. Where he lives is behind the times, and being gay is still frowned upon, so he holds his secret deep inside. This really does make him sad, as he knows he is living a lie by hiding being gay, but he fears the consequences more of coming out. Neither Jack or Kin are pleased with why Jack has been sent to the Arctic, but although they seem to rub each other up the wrong way, there also seems to be a spark there which neither of them really had planned on acting on. However, being with each other alone, things begin to change, and their feelings are getting too strong to ignore. Before they can explore where things are going to go, Jack has some deep secrets hidden away that he must sort in his mind, and then Kin has to decide if Jack is worth coming out for. Does their relationship stand any chance or is it dead before it even starts? I think Jack needs to take a long good look at himself, and make a very hard decision before he can move forward, and it takes something quite frightening to really wake Jack up. I really did enjoy this book, and the emotions really did come through while reading. You really could understand the emotions going through both Jack and Kin, and at times would just be thinking please please just speak to each other, open and honestly!! I look forward to reading more by Keira Andrews. After writing for years yet never really finding the right inspiration, Keira discovered her voice in gay romance, which has become a passion. She writes contemporary, historical, paranormal and fantasy fiction, and—although she loves delicious angst along the way—Keira firmly believes in happy endings. For as Oscar Wilde once said, “The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what fiction means.”
If only building the foundation for a lasting relationship was as easy as drafting the blueprint.
Jet Black doesn’t date. Even if he wanted a man beyond sex, his ever-watchful identical twin scares potential suitors away. Jet lives with his brother, but since Gray fell in love with Kris, Jet feels like a third wheel. Despite their bond, Jet knows he needs to move out and experience life for himself, whether Gray likes it or not. After his father dies in a boating accident, Ethan Nichols is devastated. As the last survivor of his family, he realizes the need to put down roots. He leaves Australia and returns home to San Francisco and his old architectural firm. But there’s more to building a new life than simply moving house. Jet and Ethan’s first encounter is brash and anonymous, but when Ethan moves across the hall, their lives become irrevocably linked. Jet is quirky and fun loving, while Ethan is rock steady and dependable. There’s no denying the passionate spark between them. But Ethan is looking for a more solid foundation than Jet is ready to offer. Until Jet learns to spread his wings and trust Ethan with his darkest secrets, building a life together will be impossible. **This can be read as a standalone, however it is best enjoyed reading the series in order as side characters play a major role.**
When I was asked to review this book, I had only read book one in the series. but as I love series I brought the rest of the series so I could read them all in one go. So glad I did that, this series is brilliant. I think I have also found my favourite MC from all time! I just love Jet, even more so for what he had endured and overcome to live a sort of normal life. Although this book can be read as a standalone, you really need to read the rest of the series to fully understand the dynamics between Jet and his twin Gray.
Jet doesn’t date at all, and it is not because he doesn’t want to – he just doesn’t know how to date plus his over protective brother tends to scare people away! I can totally understand why Gray is protective of Jet, but Jet is desperate to get out and live his own life – especially as Gray now has Kris, and he is now feeling I think in some ways jealous of Gray, he wants what Gray has. Jet does meet Ethan, but he only knows him as Mr Fine, and it was a quick romp while Jet was at work one night! Jet never dreams of seeing Ethan again, but then he moves in across the hall from where Jet lives with Gray and Kris. This part I have to say I laughed at, as Ethan has no idea that Jet had a twin!! Jet and Ethan meet for a date eventually, but as Jet hasn’t ever dated, it was quite sweet to read about how flustered he was, and he also had no idea what he was meant to do. This was really apparent when they got back to Ethan’s and he asked Jet in for coffee, who took this to mean having sex! Jet seemed really unsure when Ethan told him no, even when he explained why. It really is clear now, that Jet has only had hook ups and no relationships at all. He seems totally lost at what he is meant to do now. Slowly, Jet and Ethan manage to start a relationship, but Jet wasn’t able to tell Ethan his biggest secret, for reasons you totally can understand. However, secrets never stay secret for long, and it is totally out of the blue that part of the secret reveals itself, but with dire consequences for Jet. Will Jet get the chance to speak to Ethan and tell him the whole secret? The biggest problem is that Jet has no idea where Ethan is, or even if he will listen to what Jet has to say…. I totally loved this book, I have never read a book with twin brothers that are so close, and in which the author really managed to get their emotions over on each page. I think the oh so close relationship between Jet and Gray is really what made this book special to me. I would highly recommend not only this book, but the series. Each book was special in its own way, but this one is my favorite from them all.
After dinner was finished and the two bottles of wine were drained, I bid everyone goodnight and headed for the entrance. Jet followed me out, closing the front door behind him.
“I feel like I should apologize for Gray, but I think he’s starting to come around. Thank you for putting up with him.” Jet ran his fingers down my forearm before linking them with mine. “It’s okay. I can see he’s cautious of me, and I suspect he’s just looking out for you. He broods like a mother hen, though.” Jet laughed and rolled his eyes. “Oh God. You have no idea. He’s not normally this bad, but I’ve never dated anyone before either. I think he sees that you’re good for me, even though he won’t admit it. When he’s convinced you’re a good guy, he’ll be better, and if he isn’t, then he’ll just have to get used to it. I suspect Kris is having a word with him right now.” Raising our clasped hands, I ran the back of my knuckles down his cheek. “Is that what we’re doing? Dating?” I didn’t know how Jet felt or what he wanted. Now was as good a time as any to find out if we were on the same page. Jet blushed and glanced toward his bare feet, lowering our hands. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to assume.” “Hey.” I lifted his chin with our still-entwined fingers. “I want that. I just need to know if you want the same thing.” Jet nodded before rising up on his toes and kissing me gently. “Please.” Deepening the kiss, I dragged his body closer to mine until we were pressed tightly together. Jet opened for me, letting me explore his mouth with my tongue, the smoothness of his teeth. Heat washed over me as we continued kissing in the corridor between our two condos. Jet wrapped one leg around my hip, then jumped up, forcing me to hold on to his backside as he bit and sucked at my neck. He ground his hardening cock against mine before releasing me quickly, landing on his feet and backing toward his door with a wicked smile. I had a feeling Jet liked playing games. Not manipulative, screw-with-your-head type games, but rather fun, flirty, teasing games. He turned around, his hand on the door handle. He stuck his ass out and wriggled it before giving me a wink and disappearing inside. I shook my head as I opened my front door. This relationship was not going to be boring.
RJ started as a reader and eventually made the progression to reviewing. It wasn't until two men popped into her thoughts, insisting on telling her their story that she started to write. It started with one scene. A hot and dirty one in the shower.
RJ's initial thought was if she could write their scene then they'd shut up and allow her to concentrate on other aspects of the day. That shower scene was 3000 words long and three hours of work. But they didn't shut up. They told her their entire story and she didn't sleep for days. Sometimes she couldn't keep up with what they were telling her and she had to keep a notebook by the bed. Whilst RJ was writing their story a side character decided he needed his story told too. Then other characters followed suit. You see the problem? If RJ ever wants to sleep again then she needs to write. RJ is a wife and a mother to two boys. Even her dog is a boy. She is surrounded by males. RJ writes emotionally charged, character driven romances. Her guys will always get their HEA, but it will never be easy. Undercover police officer Kell has crossed the line. He’s become trapped in an abusive relationship with his violent thug of a boss and sees no way back without wrecking months of work. The hope of ever being involved with someone who respects him seems a distant dream. Private investigator Gethin is depressed that the bulk of his work involves following unfaithful partners. He knows just what it’s like to be cheated on. Even worse, his relationship with his ex is complicated and Gethin can see no way of breaking free of a guy who so desperately needs him. A chance encounter brings Kell and Gethin together, entwining their lives with secrets and danger. They both have reasons to keep things casual. But there are consequences to zipless fucks. Not only do they have to survive people trying to kill them, they need to trust each other and keep their wits about them, while ensuring their hearts stay intact. Wow - that is the first word I would use for this book. This is the first book I have read by Barbara Elborg, but it will definitely not be the last. I must say thank you to Barbara for giving me the chance to review this book, as I am not sure I would have read it otherwise. I will also say that if you are looking for a sweet little romance, then this is not the book for you. We first meet Kell, who is working undercover, but is now hating every minute of it but can see no way out of it all. You can sense his intense hatred for his violent boss, but you can also see that all he wants is someone to actually love him. Then we meet Gethin, who works as a private investigator and who has been pulled into something he also wants no part of, but doesn't know how to extricate himself, and then he is also looking for a missing person. To top the lot he also has a "boyfriend" he goes to visit - but things are not as they seem. Kell and Gethin actually meet when Gethin is asked by his friend Angel if he would be a waiter at a function his party planning company is hosting.. They don't actually do well the first time they meet, but things happen and they meet again. Little does either man know, that the cases that they are working on maybe linked, but obviously neither man knows who they can trust, so to begin with they say nothing. They still meet each other, just for sex, as neither can see themselves having a relationship, or even capable of having a normal relationship. When everything comes apart, both Gethin and Kell are in danger and now need to rely on each other to keep themselves alive.... but can they trust the other? Are they being totally honest with each other? They seem to grow closer, but Gethin has one huge secret he must tell Kell, but will he actually tell Kell the truth or leave him in the dark?? Once I was into this story, I just could not stop reading, but omg did the author throw a couple of curve-balls that I was not expecting along the way. There is also a really emotional scene in this book, on which I can only applaud the author with the sensitive way she wrote this part of the book, which involved Gethin and Jonnie. I was in pieces reading it, but again just couldn't put the book down. Barbara Elsborg lives in Kent in the south of England. She always wanted to be a spy, but having confessed to everyone without them even resorting to torture, she decided it was not for her. Vulcanology scorched her feet. A morbid fear of sharks put paid to marine biology. So instead, she spent several years successfully selling cyanide.
After dragging up two rotten, ungrateful children and frustrating her sexy, devoted, wonderful husband (who can now stop twisting her arm) she finally has time to conduct an affair with an electrifying plugged-in male, her laptop. Her books feature quirky heroines and bad boys, and she hopes they are as much fun to read as they are to write.

I have finally found something from Cardeno C which I have not read on my kindle!! This was quite the surprise! Actually, I have not read either In Another Life or Eight Days, so I did really enjoy this audio. I think I enjoyed them more as there was two together, and the total time was enough for me to listen to while doing chores around the house.
In Another Life: I loved Shiloh, he knows who he is, but is so afraid to tell anyone else…. These fears finally get the better of him, and he sees no other way out other than to try and take his own life. As he feels his life ending, he then seems to have a strange dream, and this continues when he wakes in hospital and looks at Travis and gets a total feeling of deja-vu, and then when Travis speaks to him….. omg the voice from his dreams, or were they dreams? Shiloh soon realises that he just may be looking at his future, but is he now brave enough to take that final step, to stop the fear that usually takes him over? Eight Days: Now I found the MC to dislike – Maccabe. What a self-centred person, only thinking of himself. Oh to begin with, it came across like he cared for Josh, and it seemed like it was a match made in heaven. However, things were not as they first seemed. Maccabe was only looking out for himself, and he just didn’t consider Josh’s feelings at all, in his world everything revolved around him and his baseball career. Although they were having a long distance relationship, it wasn’t enough for Josh. The day that Josh tells Maccabe that he wants to come out to his family, instead of hiding everything was the day everything changed. As per usual, all Maccabe thought about was himself, not once did he consider how Josh was feeling, or even the effect his words would have on him….. he soon found out when he went to the parents for dinner…. Josh wasn’t there but Maccabe thought nothing of it. Roll on a few years and then Maccabe makes a startling discovery, and then begins to realise what he had with Josh. What will Maccabe do when he finds out the truth about what happened……
To bond with his destined mate, an Alpha wolf must look past what he sees and trust what he feels.
Bonded by their parents before they were conceived, wolf shifters Abel and Kai adored each other since they were children. As teens, the two future Alphas took the next step in their bonding process and vowed to remain true to one another until Kai came of age. But when tragedy struck, Abel felt betrayed and ran from Kai instead of completing their mating. Abel never stops yearning for the man who was supposed to lead by his side and after years without contact, Kai returns, broken and on death's door. If Abel wants to fulfill their destiny and merge their packs, he'll need to look past what he saw and trust his heart.
Now this Cardeno C, I have read the book. I love this story, I wasn't sure I would enjoy it but I did. This was a different narrator to who I am used to listening to, but I really did enjoy his narration on this story, his voice made it easy listening, but enthralled at the same time.
When Abel believes he has been betrayed, he severs all ties with Kai, but is broken hearted at what has happened. He has forbidden anyone in his family to mention Kai's name, and he is now a lonely alpha. Cardeno C. - CC to friends - is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few "awwws" into a reader's day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno's stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ever- after sunset.
Cardeno's Home, Family, and Mates series have received awards from Love Romances and More Golden Roses, Rainbow Awards, the Goodreads M/M Romance Group, and various reviewers. But even more special to CC are heartfelt reactions from readers, like, "You bring joy and love and make it part of the every day."
Born into wealth and privilege, Colin Sinclair was raised on the knowledge that money could buy anything and everyone had a price. Trouble was no trouble at all, not when the money was there to sweep it under the rug. But those lessons, learned at the knee of his father, were going to be challenged in a way that would change Colin forever.
In middle class suburbia, Arnaud Dechene learned the value of hard work, focus, and dedication to a dream. He was well on his way to achieving it, the role of Premier, when he catches Colin’s eye. Rich snobs didn’t usually do it for him, but there was something about Colin that made him impossible to resist. Despite being opposites in every way, falling into a relationship was surprisingly—and deceptively—easy, but Arnaud never lost sight of his dream and Colin had trouble accepting that he was second place to anything. When a stupid argument leads to a reckless act, the repercussions leave Arnaud fighting for his life and Colin paying with his own. With a little meddling from an aging schemer and intentions that are more well-meaning than realistic, their paths will cross again. However, Colin and Arnaud aren’t the same men who loved with abandon. They are older and wiser, with a history that might be too big to overcome. Fans of the series know revenge is a double-edged sword, forgiveness doesn't always come easy, and forgetting is damn near impossible. But love...well, that may just conquer all.
When I first began reading this book in the Sizzling Miami Series, it seemed to me that I had found the first MC in the series that I would really not like, and boy did I dislike Colin at the beginning of the book. He was someone who had everything handed to him on a plate, and he got everything he wanted.... including Arnaud..
However, he was also arrogant and selfish, and to me he only thought about himself and didn't even bother considering Arnauds feelings at all. I really wanted to reach into the book and hit him and knock some sense into him.... but fate intervened instead. At this time, you realise that Colin is now taking a good long hard look at his life, and he doesn't seem to like what he is seeing. He totally blames himself for when fate intervened, but rather than try and protect himself, he just takes everything thrown at him without out fight at all. Years later, Colin is now only a shell of a man. He still has deep feelings for Arnaud, but has had no contact with him since the fateful night. He still carries all the guilt for what happened, and he just doesn't seem able to forgive himself for making a mistake. One night he is persuaded to go out with mother and grandmother, but has no idea of who it is he is being taken to see. When Colin realises that Arnaud is on the stage, he is stunned, but with this brings back all his feelings that he is dangerous to anyone who cares for him, and he bolts. Arnaud is determined to speak to Colin, and finally gets to meet him through Colins lawyer. However, Arnaud soon realises that Colin is not the same man he feel in love with, Colin is quiet, withdrawn and generally the opposite of the Colin he loved. It is going to take a lot of talking and persuasion if Arnaud is going to get Colin back into his life.. By the time I had finished this book, my feelings for Colin had changed. Whilst reading, you just could not help but really feel for Colin. To me his family were the reason he was an arrogant person, but the Colin who we got to know in the book was totally different, and came across as a much better person. Arnaud really had his work cut out to try and break through the barrier that Colin has erected around himself, it was only the others in the house that he really let inside, although I don't think they all got to see the real Colin. I especially loved the part of the story with Colin when he went to Jacky, who was suffering with a flashback, to me this showed how special a person Colin was. I really can't wait for the next book in the series, and I am really hoping (hint, hint) that Jacky gets his story soon. Like many readers, the dream of being a writer has been with me a long time. After three decades of trying, I'd begun to doubt. Thanks to social media, I followed my favorite authors hoping to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half-formed ideas with alarming regularity. Two repetitive themes emerged: To be a great writer you must read a lot and your butt must be in the chair every day like it's a job. The more you write, the easier it will be to write and the better you will be at writing. I took that advice to heart and write every day. With three series in the works and counting, it's been amazing to have made this dream my reality. I am a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics and happily ever after. I'm a lover of strong secondary characters and series filled with families, biological or chosen. All are themes you'll find throughout my books. TWO CHANCES TO WIN

Audiobook Blog Tour!! Opposites by T.M.Smith - 5 Star Review, Exclusive Excerpt and Giveaway10/4/2016
Opposites is now available on Audiobook
Written by T.M. Smith
Narrated by Greg Boudreaux
A new society was born In the year 2300 Dr. Smithâs descendants are ushering in the twenty fourth century having maintained control of the government that still rules society. Twins, Aiya and Aiyan, are preparing to meet their matches and take control of House Gaeland, the current ruling House. But not everything is as it seems. Nature vs Nurture Love is Love... it knows no gender and doesnât conform to restrictions or boundaries. Aiyan has found his soul mate in Kaden, the prince of House Devi, that he is matched with and eventually marries. But when the person Aiya falls in love with tests the boundaries put in place after GWI, all hell breaks loose. And in the midst of one secret unraveling, another will emerge. There is a growing anomaly that threatens to destroy over two hundred years of progression. This anomaly is known as Opposites. *WARNING* Opposites is an Adult Dystopian majorly M/M novel that contains explicit sexual content and relationships between gay, lesbian and straight couples. There are brief scenes of violence.
I actually read the kindle version of the book a couple of years ago, and was looking forward to listening to the audio version - and it really didn't disappoint. The narration on this book was absolutely brilliant, and it kept me hooked from the beginning.
What at a world to live in, where all children were supposed to be born gay or lesbian, but if not then they are known as Opposites or Outcasts and would be largely ignored.. They were seen as not normal. This story is about Aiya and Aiyan, who are sister and brother, about to be matched with their partners. During this part of the book, you learn about the other characters within the story, and I have to say Raven sounds a total sweetheart!! Aiyan and Kaden soon become a match made in heaven, but although they kissed, both decide to wait until the night of their wedding to be with each other completely..... and wow, what a night that was.... best listen with headphones!! However, Aiya is not reacting the same way - and her affections are aimed at someone completely different, actually towards someone completely unexpected. However, she cannot act on what she feels so she keeps in all inside - or so she thinks. This is one secret that will never remain that way. The consequences of the secret emerging actually affects every single person currently within House Gaeland, but for Aiya and Kaden these consequences could be dire. I should also point out, for those that have not read the book, that this is the first book in the Opposites Series, and there is another book called Appearances that follows this - as well as two novellas. Greg Boudreaux totally blew me away with the narration of the book, but it also leaves me wondering of if he ends up red faced when he had to read the antics of Aiyan and Kaden??!! Boy, these were hot scenes to listen to. I hope that Appearances will soon be out on audio, and that Greg is also the one to narrate that too.
~ Chapter 3 | Introductions ~
The twins were deep in conversation, standing in the corner by the blazing fire when Kaden entered the room. Aiyanâs heart skipped a beat when their eyes met; there was an instant attraction that could not be denied. He was just as tall as Aiyan, with dark brown hair and exquisite brown eyes that reminded him of the shoreline at night. He was not overly muscular but still fit - the shirt he was wearing hugged his torso. Making his way back up to Kadenâs face, Aiyan saw a defined nose and high cheek bones that instantly lifted slightly as Kaden smirked. Aiyanâs ears were ringing, and he realized his father was speaking to him, but he couldnât make out the words. Aiya touched his arm and he twitched slightly, then blinked and came back around, returning his gaze to Kaden. They met in the middle of the room shaking hands, both men mumbling an almost incoherent hello, but they couldnât take their eyes off each other. Kaden as well felt his pulse quicken when Aiyan was near, and when their hands touched they lingered, not breaking the hold as the room started to spin. Aiyan gasped. The room was spinning wildly around him, and yet he and Kaden stood in the middle or the vortex unmoving, everything and everyone around them grew quiet. There was no noise aside from the pounding in his chest and the rise and fall of Kadenâs with each breath he took. Aiyan had a vision of himself with Kaden: he held Kaden in a warm embrace and they were on their knees on his bed, facing each other. Their lips met sharply as each man tried to dominate the kiss. Kaden bit his lip and fisted a handful of hair, jerking Aiyanâs head back and quickly tracing the line of his jaw to his neck with his tongue, biting down as Aiyan cried out, digging his fingers into Kadenâs shoulders. Aiyan blinked and the room came back into focus when he felt Kadenâs grip tighten, a smirk playing across his face again. Aiyan cocked his head to the side, studying him intently, wondering: did Kaden feel the same thing, see the same thing? Kadenâs smile quickly turned to a scowl when Aiyan jerked away as the door to the library slammed against the wall. His mother, Amaya, entered the room followed by a young woman with long wavy brown hair. Maya demanded attention any time she entered a room. She was tall, lithe and regal in her appearance with her long brown hair braided and trailing down her back. The woman standing next to Maya rivaled her ability to take up all the space in a room; that much was certain.
