Note: This an erotic novella about an up and coming TV actor who begins to question his sexuality when he's enticed by his co-star's husband. Star Quality features an m/m/m threesome, an open marriage, a gfy/ofy character, and a brief bisexual interlude with a female character. Short blurb: Kevin plays gay on TV but when his co-star Nick’s husband, Andrew, starts making suggestive overtures Kevin’s dreams are invaded by unexpected desires. Can Andrew coax Kevin–and Nick–into seeing that starring together in real life can be richer and more complex than a TV drama? Wow, this book was a really hot read!! I love reading threesomes and this book did not disappoint. We meet Kevin, who is an actor, and who when he returns to his house after four weeks promoting the TV Drama he stars in, he finds he is lonely. He has got used to being with his on-screen love interest Nick, and they became great friends. While on his own, Kevin tries to analyse his feelings for his married friend Nick, and he is not sure exactly what they are…… When Nicks husband Andrew sees the promotional pictures of Nick and Kevin, he realises that Kevin may have feelings for Nick, but rather than anger him, Andrew is ecstatic with the turn of events, so much so that every time there is a party, Andrew makes a bee line for Kevin and starts dropping hints to him about joining him and Nick in real life. Nick and Andrew invite Keith over to their house one evening, and then things really heat up …. OMG, a cold shower will be needed after you read what happens…. How the author describes everything that happens with Kevin, Nick and Andrew you can see it all in your mind, and it really was beautifully descriptive. I really did enjoy this book, and I look forward to reading more from this author. Kevin decided he’d had enough. It was getting dark out and he couldn’t win at pool anymore. His pool partner, Rory, wandered to the bathroom, so Kevin was deciding whether or not he should join the few folks left in the other part of the bar for karaoke, when he saw Andrew advancing toward him in the nearly empty room. His own brain and fantasies had been so fucked up lately that for half a second Kevin wasn’t sure that it was actually Andrew. “Hello, kittentits." Kevin nodded, raising his glass. “Need anything from the bar, Andrew?” It was the only way out that Kevin could see, but it was too late, Andrew already had him backed nearly against the pool table. “No, love, I’m good. Just came to pick up Nick. Couldn’t even leave him to take a cab when he’s had this much vodka.” Andrew shrugged, smiling intimately, as if to say, We both know how he gets. “Well, nice to see you.” Kevin’s ass hit the table behind him. He couldn’t back up any more. “I just wanted to say thank you, since I saw you over here.” “For what?” Kevin looked around warily, finding them nearly alone but for a few regulars at the bar pointedly ignoring them. “Whatever you did to Nick when you kissed him last week. We had the most amazing sex after. I’m sure it was all because of you and your pretty mouth.” Kevin closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He couldn’t take this. He didn’t even understand it. “Why are you doing this?” Andrew watched him for a second, inscrutable, then smiling, a decision clearly made. Andrew’s smile was a warm invitation. “Well, pretty kittentits, I want him to be happy, and truthfully I’m sure he would be very happy fucking you. I know I would be. Would it make you happy? You can make it happen if you want.” Andrew cupped his hand around the back of Kevin’s neck, just a friendly, reassuring squeeze. “It’s a huge deal, I know, but think about it,” he said, his hand grazing Kevin’s cheek before Andrew turned and walked to the other room. Kevin stood still watching him go. He caught himself and breathed again. In every interaction they had ever had, Andrew was this even, calm presence; balance to Nick’s storm. But now it felt like Andrew was the storm, beating and thrashing against Kevin, wearing him down, turning the hard stone of his denial into sand. “Kev!” Nick’s voice called Kevin back to the present. He turned to see Nick in the doorway, Andrew next to him, arm possessively around Nick’s waist. “Don’t forget we’re cooking out Sunday for the holiday. You should come!” Then they were gone, out into the street, the quiet night, but for Kevin, the storm still raged. Ajax Bell is a Seattle native currently residing in Nashville. ARe: https://www.allromanceebooks.com/product-strengthtoletgo-1840807-145.html ExcerptWhen I got to my apartment, I wasn’t feeling any better. I was restless and hurting and angry as fuck and their mixed scents in my place weren’t doing me any favors. I fumbled with the backpack I had dropped on the floor of my living room, trying to find my phone. I was greeted by a dozen or more messages from Vicks, one of my twin’s mates. Since she had mated my brother she had this weird connection to me too and could feel whenever I was experiencing strong emotions for an extended period. I assumed everything that had happened since yesterday would qualify for that. I sent a quick “I’ll be fine” type of reply to stop her from harassing me and went through my contacts. Even if I hadn’t called that particular number in a couple of months, it was still at the top of my favorites list. He was my best friend since childhood, so it made sense I’d call him more than anyone else. It just hit me then that I’d been so lost in my own life, I barely had time to catch up with him or my family unless something critical was going on. I pressed the call button and plastered the phone to my ear, pacing around the room as it rang a few times. “Come on, Blake, fucking pick up!” I hung up and tried again. I really needed to talk to my best friend right now. It rang twice and went straight to voicemail. Hearing Blake’s voice brought tears to my eyes and something snapped inside of me. “Blake, I wish you’d have picked up the phone.” I laughed softly, shaking my head. “It’s funny, I think this is the first time I call you and you don’t pick up. Either way… thanks for being my friend, chibi. I… I don’t….” I lowered the hand that was holding my phone and let my head fall back, taking a few deep breaths. “Blakey, tell everyone I love them and… yeah, those who know me, really know me, will understand. Sayonara, chibi-tan.” I hung up and let the rage take over. I turned around at impossible speed and threw the phone with a loud roar. It hit the wall and shattered into a million pieces. I was crying. I knew because I could feel the heaves and tears, but the crushing pain was battling with the anger taking over my mind. I had lost my soul and my reason to live when I’d lost Kieran and Kayden. What was left of me was nothing more than the warrior inside. A true samurai would not waste away, waiting for death to claim him at the end of a miserable life. He’d die in battle, an honorable death his final legacy. My twin, Shishou, my co-beta, Ren, my sister, even Blake… they’d get it, they’d explain it properly to my children. They probably won’t understand, just like I hadn’t when my parents had left us. I prayed that unlike their father, they would never get to a point in life where they’d understand this decision of mine. It meant they’d go through a world of pain and that was the last thing I wanted for Ryuu and Kimmie. I took off everything but my jeans. No point in having anything else on. Werewolf rules were sometimes mind-boggling. You could shift into your wolf and back, and you always kept one item of clothing. The picks were random and you might be left in nothing but your underwear. Or keep a tight top and nothing else to cover your lower body. It was wise to choose your own clothes for the occasion. I then promptly flashed to the weapons room in the Alpha mansion, right in front of the wall display of my father’s katana. I kneeled before it, my legs spread, and then bowed deeply. Getting up, I closed the small distance between me and my objective and removed the katana. I glanced at the wakizashi he always used to wear with his katana. Double sword, traditional samurai sign. I decided I’d use them both, just as he had in his final battle. I unsheathed the two blades and adjusted my grip. With a final bow, I flashed out. When I took form at my destination, a small shiver coursed through my body. It was pretty cold out here. Well, northern mountains in Mongolia weren’t known for their excessive heat in the middle of autumn. I had chosen Siberian Killer territory, the fastest way to pick a fight with other werewolves. The one rule they had was any shifter that stepped foot on their territory would be killed. Here I was, standing tall, all focused, muscles bulging under the strain and excitement of an impending battle, taunting whoever was nearby. Title: Charlie’s Hero
Series: Heroes Author: Nic Starr Publisher: Dreamspinner Press Cover Artist: Bree Archer Length: 200 Pages Release Date: June 17, 2015 GMR 5 STAR REVIEW!!!
Schoolteacher Charlie Matthews returns to his hometown, looking to regain a sense of community, reconnect with friends, and settle down. It looks like his dreams have come true when paramedic Josh Campbell attends an accident at the school. It’s love at first sight, and a romance begins.
But Josh’s reluctance to come out to the brother who raised him, puts pressure on their fledgling relationship. While Charlie understands Josh’s concerns, he can’t help growing impatient. After all, Charlie came out years ago. It’s not until Charlie confronts his own parents and realizes he hasn’t come to terms with their rejection that he fully understands what Josh has to lose. But Josh is Charlie’s hero, and Josh will do anything to prove to Charlie that to be part of a family, he doesn’t need his parents.
Charlie is a schoolteacher and is returning home looking to settle down and find himself. Then one day the beautiful paramedic, Josh arrives at the school for an accident that just occurred and it's true love at first glance. The problem that faces them is that Josh is not sure how to come out to his brother who just so happens to have raised him and this is adding friction to their new and fragile relationship. Charlie is trying to be patient but he came out a long time ago and his patience is growing thin. Charlie starts to realize what Josh is going through as he confronts his own parents rejection when he came out years ago.
I completely empathized with Josh as his older brother Andrew raised him after their father died. Andrew had to grow up very fast and lost out on his own youth so he's all the family that Josh has. It was a very different story for Charlie as he had to come to terms with the rejection he received when he came out to his parents years ago. Now back in his hometown those feelings of rejection have resurfaced as he hasn't dealt with the rejection as much as he thought he had. I really enjoyed the sub-character of Greg who is Charlie's childhood friend and I think he adds a great element to the story. My heart completely broke for Charlie with his meetings with his extremely prejudiced and hurtful parents. Unfortunately this is a very realistic component of a lot of gay men and their families. I love how Josh faced Charlie's parents and this is why he's Charlie's Hero! This is a beautiful love story filled with loyalty, trust, acceptance, love, forgiveness and beautiful hearts. I recommend this to anyone who desires a good love story as you won't be disappointed at all!!!
HE WAS in love. Totally, wonderfully, head over heels in love. Love with a capital L, hell, love in full uppercase. All it took was one look, one simple glance, and he was a goner. Of course the object of his admiration was classically handsome—tall and athletic, glowing with good health. Bright eyes, wide smile, waves of shining hair tucked behind perfect ears. He was like all Charlie’s dreams come true, with golden skin hugging strong muscles that strained on long limbs. But even if Charlie hadn’t been attracted to the man’s spectacular good looks, there was no way to overlook his actions.
When Charlie first saw him, he was kneeling on the schoolyard ground, tending to a little girl who was lying prone on the soft-fall rubber surface under the play equipment. She was one of Charlie’s second graders. Her right leg, bent at a strange, unnatural angle, gave a big clue as to her injury. Charlie hoped the leg was the worst she was hurt. An efficient auburn-haired paramedic was treating her injured leg while the gorgeous guy knelt by her head, hands on either side of her blonde curls, keeping her still. He whispered into her ear, the words obviously having a calming effect—the little girl stared intently up at him, the hitch in her breathing the only evidence of any distress. There was a gentleness to his touch, despite the large hands, and caring in his tone as he concentrated on his patient. How could Charlie not fall in love with this glorious combination of caring, masculine beauty? “Mr. Matthews. Mr. Matthews.” The urgent high-pitched voice and persistent tugging on his hand drew his attention reluctantly away from the scene unfolding in the playground. Shit, he thought, what the hell am I doing just standing here staring when I should be taking care of the other children, who are no doubt worried and scared? Dropping to one knee and looking Jennifer in the eye, Charlie gave her his full attention. “What is it, Jenny?” he asked, knowing she was going to voice her worry about her small friend on the ground. “Is Alison going to be all right, Mr. Matthews?” she asked in a low and quavering voice. He replied in a way he hoped would calm her fears, by keeping his voice even and low. “She’ll be fine, Jenny. Her mummy and daddy will meet her at the hospital, and Miss Bryant is going to go stay with her until they get there. Alison is in very good hands. See those paramedics?” He pointed toward the action under the monkey bars, and she looked across at the small group on the ground and nodded gravely. “Well, they’re very good at their jobs. They’re going to take Alison to the hospital so the doctors can put a cast on her leg. I’m sure she’ll be back at school in no time.” “But she won’t be able to play,” she whispered, obviously still worried for her friend. “No, she won’t,” he admitted. “At least she won’t be able to run around for a while, but she will be able to draw and play board games. I know you love to draw, so maybe you can play with Alison to make her feel better. I bet you’ll be able to write your name on the cast too.” At that, Jenny met his gaze and finally smiled. “Really!” she said with excitement. “That’d be totally cool!” They looked up as the paramedics wheeled past with the gurney. Little Alison was tightly strapped aboard. She was lying still, no doubt in shock, and holding tightly to the hand of Charlie’s hero. He only glanced their way for a second, obviously reluctant to take his attention away from the little girl who needed him, but that was enough. Their gazes connected, his warm brown eyes seeming to look straight into Charlie’s soul. The surge of emotion that flooded through him took him by surprise. The paramedic blinked and the spell was broken. They moved swiftly past Jenny and Charlie, then loaded the gurney into the back of the ambulance. Charlie stood frozen to the spot, still holding Jenny’s small hand in his, and watched the ambulance leave. Finally he took a deep breath, turned back to the schoolyard, and started to round up any children still in the playground. “Come on, everyone,” he called. “It’s time to get back to class.” As the last stragglers made their way into the single-story building that housed the small group of classrooms, he knew he would be spending the afternoon reassuring the children. He decided that making get-well cards for Alison would be the best way of distracting the group of second graders. DREAMSPINNER PRESS (eBook)

Title: Snared
Series: Tyler Knoll's Just For Fun Author: A.B. Gayle Genre: Satire, humor, gay, gay romance, LGBT Length: Novella Publisher: Wayward Ink Publishing
Tyler Knoll was born one wild, stormy night in April 2013.
Of course, Tyler might tell you he was born twenty years earlier, but should we believe anything he says? That’s for you to decide. In Tyler’s first adventure—like many a gay man before him—he was SNARED by gay porn, wallowing in tales of bigger, stronger, harder….
4.5 Star Review:
I was asked to review this book, and I jumped at the chance once I had read the blurb!! I have to say first of all, that this book is so different to any others that I have read, but I really did enjoy it. I loved that there was taunting at authors, readers and even reviewers, and agreed with most comments! We meet Tyler, and along with what is currently happening, we also get rambling comments at times, and these I will admit to having a good giggle at!! Tyler is taken to what he first thinks is a bar, but then changes his mind to a swanky gentleman’s club!! He is taken by his work colleagues, but first he has to describe them to you, and that was so funny. When he returns from the bathroom he finds most of his friends gone, and three “upper floor men” from the company he works at, in their place. He is summoned by one of them to follow him, and he is not sure if he should follow….. but does anyway!! The action, complete with such funny commentary, then moves into the elevator and then the penthouse. Tyler is expecting to be told to strip naked and assume the position (him being a card carrying bottom), but this is not the case. It is the man he is with who strips, and then Tyler is starring at his anaconda! Tyler is then asked to massage the man – he still doesn’t know his name – and this had me in fits of laughter while reading, at what Tyler was doing while doing so. Then things change completely, and Tyler learns just exactly who it is he is with and what he expects from him..... I honestly cannot wait to continue Tyler's story, I know that there will never be a dull moment, especially with the commentary throughout the book.,
The jock was still sitting opposite me. Still staring at me as if he could read what was going through my mind. It’s a wonder he didn’t look totally baffled. If I was actually listening to what I was thinking, I’d be baffled, that’s for sure. Should I smile? Speak first? Lick my lips and give him that clichéd signal that I thought he was hot? He was. Like lions are hot. Or bears are hot. Think about it. They must be, mustn’t they? All that fur, especially when they’re living in a hot climate. This guy was hot and hot. Get me? I suppose I should wax lyrical here and talk about why he was hot. Soft curls springing up around in his head like a halo? Nope. Eyes that twinkled with merriment? Ditto. Full lips that were meant for kisses? Again nah. Look, it’s probably easier to say that he was the opposite of all those things. Tough, mean, narrow set and that was just his eyes. I’m sure he hadn’t blinked ever since I sat down. This was developing into one of those staring matches that you have at school.
Back then, I never won, and I didn’t win this one now. I blinked. A faint smile curled the edge of his thin lips. Why did all the tough, mean, narrow characters turn me on? Why couldn’t I be attracted to a nice cuddly bear? The sort that just wanted to wrap me up in their arms and fuck me gently? I had been told that I was definitely otter material. “Erm… my name is….” “I have a room upstairs. Let’s go.” He stood and waited. “Pardon me?” “I’m not going to fuck you down here. Unless you’re into that kind of exhibitionism.” He gave me a smile, but it ended up more of a leer. In fact, I’m sure he meant it to be a leer. “But…” I spluttered. “We haven’t even been introduced. I just came here for a drink with my friends.” Without speaking, he handed me a handkerchief. White with a blue pattern around the edge. I let out a sigh of relief. Not black or red. For a second I thought I’d stumbled into a leather club and my beautiful skin was about to covered in whelps, or I’d go home with a permanently gaping anus, thanks to this guy’s muscly forearm being shoved up it. Did I mention that he was built like a shit house? And forget the brick kind, he was more the cinder block variety. “What’s this for?” I asked, turning it around and checking to see if there was some sort of message written on the back, telling me what was going on. “To wipe behind your ears. They’re obviously wet.” Without checking to see if I was following, he strutted off. Phil Mitchell pours his heart and soul into his job as manager of Speedy Mart, a local convenience store. He loves his work and he loves his fellow employees, but when it comes to his personal life, Phil is lonely and depressed and still pining for his long-departed ex.
He embarks upon the week from hell where anything that can go wrong does. It begins with a truck crashing into his outdoor sign and only goes downhill from there. Add an asshole homophobic boss hell bent on seeing him fired and Phil realizes he needs to put into place a plan to save himself and his job. First step in his plan… do something about his love life. Meanwhile, Ezra, one of Phil’s team members, is dealing with his own roller coaster ride of a week. As is Brandon, the local cop… And Mark, the homophobic boss… Perhaps, with a little… luck, the next week will be better.
I loved how the chapters in this book were done, each one was done on several characters within the book, so you know everything that was happening, but you never get confused or lost. I have to admit that I wanted to reach into the book and hit "Vince", who is a totally horrid person, although he thinks he is a gift to the whole of mankind!
This book was full of a few surprises along the way!! We meet Phil who is someone who puts everything into his job, but this means his personal life is a total mess, in fact he doesn't have a personal life as all his time is spent at work. The week from hell starts like any other week for Phil, as manager of a Speedy Mart, until the day that has the truck crashing into his stores outside sign..... his ex-boyfriend ringing asking for a loan..... his night staff are held up in an armed robbery...... and the district manager telling him to fire his best night employee..... a car on fire on the garage forecourt and the icing on the cake is that Phil is put on an action plan, even though there is no reason for this.... it all seems to stem back to Phil giving an interview about his helping out the local LGBT and he then finds out he has a homophobic district manager who now wants to get rid of him. Phil doesn't seem to realise that Humberto, who is one of his customers, is trying to get his attention to ask him out!! Phil was supposed to ring him one evening, but after an eventful day at work, he went home and fell asleep - prompting Humberto to think he didn't want to go out with him. So Phil is convinced that he has driven Humberto away. Ezra is in a quandary as he knows he should talk to his best friend Justin about his boyfriend Vince, as Ezra knows Vince is playing around and is not loyal to Justin at all. Ezra really does care for Justin, and I don’t think he actually realises how much he does care…. Vince shows no commitment to Justin, and quite often throughout the book you find out he is with somebody else, and doesn't seem to care about anything other than how people look at him, and the next hot body he can have. One of the people he decided to take out was the Policeman who responded to his accident, but to make matters worse, although he lives with Justin, he asked him to make himself scarce while he brought his date home..... however, on their arrival at the house, Justin is there and not in a good way...... Doreen, another of the staff, frequently mentions a dungeon at home, but nobody really believes that she has one..... but oh yes she does, and learn about what happens in her dungeon!! Mark, the district manager, decides to go for a drink after the week from hell and ends up at the gay bar in the town. Here he meets Jeremy, and although Mark is married, he agrees to go home with Jeremy…… Things all come to a head, when both Mark and Phil are called into the head office of Speedy Mart, and the events that happen there are not what you expect to happen. Is Mark a closet gay?? Does Phil ever manage to apologise to Humberto and go on a date?? What has happened to Justin?? What has happened at the meeting at the head office?? Will Ezra ever realise what his feelings for Justin are??
After nearly three hours’ preparation, Phil stood in front of the full-length mirror sporting the exact same set of clothes he’d first tried on. An enormous mound of shirts and slacks lay behind him in a disheveled heap atop his bed. He straightened his posture and sucked in his tiny belly. He checked his hair and teeth; then he turned around, trying to crane his neck far enough to scope out the reflection of his ass in the jeans. He sniffed his wrist, concerned he’d used too much cologne... or not enough. Should he wear a necklace? A single gold chain. No, silver. No, none at all. Sneakers, dress shoes, Dockers? A sweater? Oh fuck, he would hyperventilate if he didn’t quit. He eased back onto the mattress as he glanced over to the digital clock. 7:42. Humberto would be here in less than twenty minutes. He took a deep, cleansing breath, then stared his reflection directly in the eye. “You look okay,” he said with confidence. “Not drop-dead gorgeous, but... I don’t know, attractive in a nerdy sort of way, maybe? Anyway, you look fine, and you should be thankful a guy like Humberto even.... “No, wait.” He shook his head. “You look good. Damn good. Jesus Christ, how many thirty-five-year-olds can boast they still have a thirty-inch waist? And you still have a youthful face, and you have beautiful eyes. Humberto should be proud!” In spite of himself, he giggled, then waved his hand dismissively. “Nah. I didn’t buy it either, but it was worth a try.” He stood back up and re-hung each of the clothing items in his closet. He then selected a pair of casual, slip-on shoes and walked down the hall to his living room. He picked up his cell phone, which he’d plugged in earlier to charge, and double-checked his messages to make sure Humberto hadn’t called and cancelled. It was already 8:02 and he hadn’t yet arrived. Perhaps Humberto would stand him up, maybe as payback for Phil having blown him off on Tuesday. Phil could already feel the deflation, the crushing embarrassment. He’d allowed himself to get so excited, hyped up for his big date—his first time out with another man in over four years. Wouldn’t that just be the perfect ending of a perfectly miserable week? As he slumped into a chair in his living room, feeling depressed and defeated, he heard a vehicle pull into his drive. Leaping to his feet, he rushed over to the front window in time to catch his sexy suitor climbing out of his truck. Phil’s heart stopped. Humberto wore sleek black slacks that fit him like a glove. His silky red button-up dress shirt remained partially concealed by a black leather vest. Not even a hint of construction worker/handyman strode up that sidewalk to Phil’s front door. Immediately Phil realized how absurd this whole idea really was. He wanted to dash back into his bedroom and quickly change into something dressier. No, he really didn’t own anything that could compete with the likes of Humberto. He stepped over to the front door and steeled himself, holding his breath, until the booming sound of Humberto’s knock restarted his heartbeat. “Humberto,” Phil pulled the door open and gave his date an apologetic look. “I guess I should have....” As he took in the sight in front of him, he couldn’t finish his sentence. Humberto smiled. “Mmm,” he said, nodding his head. “Muy guapo.”
He had to be joking. He’d just complimented Phil, saying he was very good-looking. Phil laughed and shook his head. “Look who’s talking.” Phil stepped back to allow Humberto entry, and he moved confidently into Phil’s personal space. He inhaled the nutty scent of Humberto’s manly cologne, and a warmth spread across Phil’s chest. When Humberto leaned in and kissed him softly yet squarely on the lips, Phil felt as if he’d swoon. He grabbed hold of the man’s biceps, steadying himself, and Humberto responded by intensifying the kiss. He slid his arms around Phil and pulled him in as he tilted his head slightly to the side and delivered a tiny bit of tongue. Phil received him and responded in kind. His cock shot to full mast. Kindle takes you on a ride with this story that you won't forget anytime soon. I love how the author has me feeling sad one moment and the next moment completely happy as this story has so many emotional levels and is written so brilliantly. Kindle Alexander has completely outdid herself again and this time with a novel like she has never ever done before. She hits on some very sensitive topics but she does it in such a realistic and honest way that I was completely riveted from the very first page. This novel started out differently than most Kindle Alexander previous ones but stay focused as trust me it becomes one of the best M/M stories ever written. This novel was honest and shows what really happens in some gay relationships. I give Kindle all the respect she deserves for writing such a beautiful and authentic view of what it means to be in gay relationships. I can't say enough beautiful things about this novel as it left me with so many emotions and I highly recommend Secrets by Kindle Alexander to everyone!!!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women's hair!
Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life - I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations - regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.
I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.

Cardinal Sins - Mann Ramblings Black magic, angels, and decadence bind Jacob and Ozzie together in a twisted web of fascination with each other. Now a new element has risen to test them: Danger. No More Hiding
Renee Stevens Released June 12th, 2015 Pages: 256 Publisher: Dreamspinner Press GMR 5 Star Review
Phillip Jorgensen tried to live the straight life and ended up divorced. But he wouldn’t trade his two kids, Jacob and Samantha, for the world. His ex-wife has kidnapped them and he's been searching for them for six long years. But he’s not giving up—never, not for anything. His twin brother has encouraged him to start living again, but how is he going to find romance with all his baggage?
When he meets Vance Pierce at the new gym, Phillip sees a chance to find some happiness. Phillip has to explain the whole sordid mess to Vance and pray that he understands that he’ll never stop looking for his children. That’s easier said than done. Telling Vance might be risky. Is their connection strong enough to convince Vance to stay? Or will he think that Phillip is too damaged to love? This is Phillip's chance at the life he never thought he could have. But is it possible?
Wow..... this is one book that I couldn't put down. You really do feel for Phillip, as he was gay, but rather than be true to his inner feelings, he decided he should try and go for the straight life, which included getting married. He managed this for years, until he realised he could no longer live that way. After the divorce, things were amicable, until someone saw him holding hands with another man, and when his wife found out she took his children away from him.
Six years later, and he still hasn't managed to locate his ex-wife or his children, and he has no life as such. His brother and sister-in-law are worried about him, and persuade him to try a new gym that has opened - which is only for gay men. Here he meets Vance..... Phillip is now is totally confused, as he has feelings for Vance, but doesn't know what to do about them. He somehow feels guilty that he may have found happiness when his children are still missing. When Phillip finally manages to admit to Vance that he has two children, I have to admit to having tears in my eyes while reading, although you already knew what had happened, it really was heart wrenching to read. Phillips world seems to come crashing down one evening when Phillip and Vance are in a serious accident, and Vance comes off worse..... this seems to show Phillip exactly what his true feelings are for Vance. While Vance stays with Phillip to recuperate, there is the phone call that Phillip has been waiting for.... but things are not as rosy as he wants them. This is where the author manages to take you on a roller coaster ride, you will be left feeling lots of different emotions. I went from happiness to sadness, anger, despair and even at one stage feeling totally horrified. It is not even clear if Phillip and Vance's relationship would actually survive what was now happening. If you love an emotional read, then this book is for you, I can guarantee that you will not be able to put it down until you have finished.
Six years, multiple private investigators, and they still had no leads. It was disheartening.
“Maybe. It’s something to think about. It’s been so long that she may have relaxed her guard enough for someone to get close to her.” Robert sighed. “I know finding the kids is your main priority, but I promised Marissa I’d talk to you.” “About?” Phillip suspected he didn’t want to know where the conversation was headed. “Phillip, it’s been six years. I know you want to find Jacob and Sam, but there’s no guarantee that’s ever going to happen. You need to start living again. It’s past time for you to start dating. Find someone to spend your life with.” “I know,” Phillip answered. “I kept hoping, if I stayed alone, Janice would be forced to relent and bring the kids back. Wishful thinking on my part. She’d be stupid to come back, considering she’d be arrested. Now I don’t know where to start looking or even if I really want to.” “What about the gym? You used to spend a lot of time there.” “I quit going a long time ago.” Phillip still kept in shape. He just didn’t do it at the gym. “Well, Marissa was telling me the other day about a new gym that opened up.” “Even if I did go back to working out, I’d probably just go to the one that I used to use.” “I think this one would be more up your alley.” Robert smirked. “Rumor has it the guy who runs it is gay, and so are most of his clientele. Where else would be better than a gay gym to meet someone?”
Renee Stevens first started writing in her teens but didn’t get serious about being an author until her mid-twenties. Since then she’s written a number of contemporary stories, as well as delved into the paranormal. When not writing, or spending time in the outdoors, Renee can usually be found working on GayAuthors.org in her capacity of admin and Anthology Coordinator.
Renee resides in Wyoming with her wonderfully supportive husband and a menagerie of four-legged critters. Making the most of the nearly constant negative temperatures and mounds of snow, Renee spends much of the winter months in hibernation with her laptop, the voices in her head keeping her company while her husband works. When she needs a break from writing, Renee takes to the sewing machine to design, and make, beautiful quilts. When the snow finally disappears, usually around May or June, Renee can be found in the great-outdoors. She spends her time on the mountain, at the lake, and just anywhere that she can do some camping, take some photos, and ride the four-wheelers with her hubby. Once back at home, it’s back to writing.. |
