Sex-Ed-for-Web

Sex Ed by Z.B. Heller Publication Date: May 31st, 2017 Cover Designer: Pink Ink Designs Genre: Contemporary MM Romance

Jaxson Dane is harboring a secret.

Not the fact that he’s a geeky comic book lover, or that he secretly draws his own comic, Bunny Fu Ninja Warrior. It’s not even classified information that he’s out and proud!

His secret is the shame that he’s a twenty-three-year-old virgin.

Jaxson isn’t waiting for marriage or even afraid of taking that step, he just hasn’t found the one guy who will accept all of his adorkable qualities. Due to an unfortunate mishap with a self-pleasuring apparatus and his favorite appendage, Jaxson meets Tyler Mason. The emerald-green-eyed nurse is a witness to the mortifying incident, leaving Jaxon both grateful and disappointed in their one-time meeting.

And then Tyler somehow shows up at Jaxon’s family dinner.

The very dinner at which Jaxson’s hidden virginity is revealed to everyone, including the captivating nurse.

Even though he secretly found the ER situation hilarious, Tyler is also able to look past it to see Jaxson’s genuine nature and is drawn to the charming and hapless comic book artist. He’s tempted to pursue the inexperienced Jaxson, but a recent and life-altering decision puts a damper on his wants and desires. However, the more time they spent together, the more willing he is to take the risk of juggling his new commitments and winning Jaxon’s affections.

A large, insane, and meddlesome family, two prying co-workers, and a sexy nurse are all trying to give Jaxson a crash course in Sex Ed. Will he pass?

Love - Loss - Friendship - Family
The All Cocks stories

There comes a time in every man’s life where he has to make a choice between what is right and what is easy.

Born and raised in Fort Worth Texas by open-minded parents, Dean Anderson realized early in life he was attracted to both sexes. Equal opportunity, he picked his lovers based on personality and common interests. He met Maggie in college, fell in love, got married and started a family. And they were happy…until they weren’t.

Adam Chase’s mother is South African, his father American military working at the US Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa. His parents’ positions in the South African and American governments awarded Adam dual citizenship, and he attended University in America, at Berkley. In America, Adam is lives openly as a gay man, something that could get him killed in his mother’s home country. He met his husband, Patrick Carter, at college and they too were happy…until Patrick died.

Two lives converge, and it would seem fate is giving them each a second chance at happiness, together. Dean stays in New York and moves into the apartment his son, Dusty, shares with his boyfriend David. He and Adam are quickly welcomed into All Cocks’ vastly growing family. And then one phone call changes everything.

The men of All Cocks learn that death is just another part of life, a road everyone travels eventually. Choices are made, decisions that change their lives irrevocably. They rally together, drawing strength from each other as their close-knit family experiences the best and worst life has to offer. But that’s what families do, right?
Picture
First thing I would say, is before starting this book, make sure you have a box of tissues nearby..... you will need them - well I did anyway.

We met both Dean and Adam in the previous book Hide and Seek, and you couldn't help by laugh at their antics!! Just shows that you can find love at any age.

As you begin reading, we find out about Adams life previously, where he was married, but sadly his husband Patrick died.  You also read more of Dean and Maggie, who still have a love for each other, but are better as friends than married.

Both Adam and Dean are nervous about the attraction they feel for each other, and I think both are wondering if things are happening too fast to be real, is it just lust they are feeling? Time will tell.

They meet as often as they can, and they seem to be building a relationship, and then Deans ex-wife Maggie and her fiance Issac arrive with their new baby son, and rather than make things worse, it seems to bring Adam and Dean closer together.

They all get pulled into the All Cocks family, which seems to be growing bigger and bigger..  It all seems quite foreign to Dean, but the more time he spends there, he realises that this is an extension to the family.

Now is when you will actually need the tissues, as then comes the death, but not necessarily who you think.  It is also quite obvious now how big the All Cocks family are, because as soon as the news breaks, there is a an enormous amount of grief, but also the support needed to get through things.

This book is so different to the other ones, but I think this is because it is the older men who have fallen into the love trap.  I loved how Adam and Dean grew closer, and seeming to know what the other needed without words. It was also great to see all the guys from previous books, and see how their lives were changing too.

If you have loved the All Cocks series so far, then this book you will love too, although different to the other books, it will also hold you completely as you turn the pages.

Release Day Review!!  To Touch You by Cardeno C (Mates #4) - 5 Star Review & Question Time with Cardeno C

“His name is Salvatore Rossi. He’s a vampire. And he’s my true mate.”

By not relying on anyone except himself, Salvatore Rossi escaped a dead-end existence and reached the height of corporate success. But just when he has everything he always wanted, fate throws Salvatore a challenge he can’t solve alone and a young wolf shifter comes to his rescue.

Since childhood, Yoram Smith’s family was certain he would grow to become Alpha and save their beloved pack from its slow demise. When the time comes for a new leader, Yoram is forced to juggle his duty to care for a splintering pack with his duty to care for an absent mate, and his own strength suffers.

Being turned into a vampire didn’t alter Salvatore’s life philosophy: if you don’t rely on anyone, nobody can let you down. But when the boy who saved his life becomes a man who needs his help, the icy vampire must find his humanity.
Picture
The Mates Series is one series I have enjoyed reading time and time again.  In this book, we meet the characters of previous books, especially Ethan and Miquel (who I think is my favourite book in the series), as well as Zev, Jonah and Toby plus Korban Keller.

Now when we first meet Yoram, he is just a young boy, and he is out with his Uncles – Miquel and Ethan.  Yoram sees someone who he calls his friend, even though they have never met before.  His new friend is Salvatore Rossi, and he is someone who comes across as a cold hearted arrogant man, but I think a lot of this is due to his upbringing, and when he first meets the young boy Yoram, he really doesn’t know what to think, if anything I think he is more scared of Yoram than Ethan or Miquel.

Over the years, we see Yoram grow up to be the Alpha of his pack, though not quite how he wanted to take over, but he is also hiding a big secret.  He has a mate, but this mate has been absent for many years, and now this absence seems to be hurting Yoram in a big way.

Salvatore is Yorams true mate, and although he is now a vampire, he really isn’t embracing the vampire way of life, or even realising what he is doing to Yoram.  Actually, it has seems to have made Salvatore more of a recluse.  It takes someone from Yorams family brave enough to approach the vampire to try and make him see what he is doing to Yoram – but will the vampire listen at all??

As part of a giveaway on the blog last month, we asked for any questions you would ask Cardeno C ........

Q: You write both contemporary and paranormal romances. Do you have a preference? And would you consider writing another genre and what would that be?

CC: I love writing both contemporary and paranormal romances. I try to alternate my books between those genres. That keeps things interesting for me and it allows me to provide options for my readers. As far as another genre, if it’s a subgenre of romance, I’d be open to it but I can’t think of another subgenre that has caught my interest just yet.

Q:  Would love to know where CC gets her inspiration from

CC: I get my inspiration all over! There are many small things – funny lines, background stories – that come from my life and I work into my books.

And sometimes it isn’t something specific but more of a feeling. For example, there’s a scene in He Completes Me where the main character, who is a self-described slut, overhears friends of his new lover talking about him in a disparaging way. That scene was based on a real-life event and it was the inspiration for the character and the book. Sometimes it seems that people expect others to act just as they would in a situation or to have the same needs or lead the same lives. But the beauty of existence, to me, is that we’re all different. When I wrote He Completes Me, I wanted to show a person who had his share of issues, who wasn’t perfect, but who liked himself regardless. Zach is self-confident and strong and he doesn’t apologize for who he is, regardless of what people think of him. And Aaron loves him for it.

I’m also inspired by people and events. For example, for Strange Bedfellows, I was inspired by the ever-broadening divide between political parties. Sometimes it seems like the days of having a thoughtful, honest debate about differences in philosophies has changed into angry arguments that question “the other side’s” very humanity. As I read the umpteenth social media post that seemed part gleeful attack and part righteous indignation, I wondered about the person behind the “bad act”. None of us are all good or all evil and I like to believe that at our core, human beings have more in common than not. So I was inspired to write about two families who live, as it were, on opposite sides of the political aisle and whose marriages, families, and lives operate in contrasting ways and to explore the areas where these people who spend their days arguing and disagreeing are more alike than they are different. My hope is that in Strange Bedfellows, we see that love and family come in packages that look different but are actually very much the same. I need to believe in that hope right now.

Q:  If you weren't an author, what career would you have chosen ? (Please don't stop writing!)

CC: Writing is my dream job! I actually have a day job too, which is one reason why I can’t get books out as quickly as I’d like. But writing is the only job I’d do if money wasn’t an object.

Q:  I have several of your books but haven't had a chance to enjoy them yet. I'm finally getting some free time where I can read whatever I want. What series or book do you suggest I start with? (I like all the types of stuff you write so any genre is fine) Or maybe a better question is do you have a book/couple that owns your heart more than any other even if only a little bit more?

CC: I don’t think I’m allowed to pick favorites, am I? On my website, I have a document suggesting to readers where to start with my books depending on what they like: http://www.cardenoc.com/en/where-to-start.

Q:  If one of your characters could come to life, which one would you choose?  Why?

CC: Oh, wow. That’s a tough call because I love all of my characters – I have to in order to be in their heads long enough to write about them. That answer would change depending on when you catch me, but if I had to choose one character right now, it’d be Abe from the Half of Us. He’s a homebody like me, he’s kind so I think he’d be a good friend, and we share a love of chai lattes.

Q:  With regards to your audio books, how do you choose a narrator? I can only assume that this is quite a lengthy process to ensure you get just the right person.

CC: Choosing a narrator is a very important and sometimes difficult process and it’s not one I do by myself. I have two audio-listeners who guide me – Jason Mitchell and Belen Tornabell. We listen to auditions and discuss voices and affectations and I complain about long pauses. Eventually, we find a person who we believe will work well for the story. J

Cardeno C. - CC to friends - is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few "awwws" into a reader's day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno's stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ever-after sunset.

Cardeno's Home, Family, and Mates series have received awards from Love Romances and More Golden Roses, Rainbow Awards, the Goodreads M/Romance Group, and various reviewers. But even more special to CC are heartfelt reactions from readers, like, "You bring joy and love and make it part of the every day."

Release Day Review!! A Worthy Man (Men Of Halfway House #5) by Jaime Reese, 5 Star Review

Title: A Worthy Man
Series: The Men of Halfway House #5
Author: Jaime Reese
Genre: M/M Romance
Release: May 2, 2017
Photographer: Eric McKinney of 6:12 Photography
A story of two men and the boundless love that forever changed them.

Vannguard Shaw has spent the last ten years serving a life sentence and adjusting to the ache of solitude. He accepts his fate, a sacrifice for the only man he ever loved and the one person who saw beyond his rough edges.
Drayton grew up with a trust fund and pre-planned future, but an unexpected encounter one night forces him to abandon everything and start from scratch. He is now a self-made man and developer of one of the most sought after electric exotic automobiles in the world with a fortune greater than that of his birthright. Yet, he’d surrender it all—again—for the only man who’s still ever-present in his heart.
After a decade and entirely too much distance between them, Vann is suddenly released back into a world that has been nothing but cruel. Drayton never lost hope they would once again reunite and pick up where they left off, but Vann’s stubborn nature and repeated encounters with a heartbreaking world prove to be a challenge.
Vann needs to tap into his fighting spirit’s reservoir of strength and hope life doesn’t punish him for taking a chance. Only then will he realize his own value and feel worthy enough to finally have Drayton’s heart. And their chance at forever. ---
* Although part of a series, this full-length novel can be read as a stand-alone. *Word count: 124K

This is one book that you will really feel everything with both Vann and Drayton.  You really get to see what makes Vann tick, and how he feels.  He has been away for 10 long years, and he is unsure of himself, and doesn’t know if the love that he and Drayton shared would be there when he was released.

Drayton couldn’t love anyone else, only Vann.  Drayton is a very clever man, but also a very complicated too.  The only person who could see past his facade was Vann, he seemed to be the only person who truly understood the real Drayton.

When Vann is released, both he and Drayton seem to be walking on eggshells with each other, as neither know how to act around the other.  It takes a little while for them to begin to relax with other, but soon it is like they have never been apart.

However, although things seem to be going well between Vann and Drayton, Vann is still unsure about being with Drayton, as he seems to see himself as a lesser person, whereas Drayton sees Vann as his equal.  However, Vann has quite the stubborn persona, and he seems to rebel at Drayton at every chance – not always realising that all Drayton wants to do is help him as he loves him, but I think Drayton also feels guilty about Vann being in prison for 10 years.  Both men have a lot of bad memories between them, which sometimes seem to overwhelm them, but with the right person there, they can overcome these.

I am not going to give away any spoilers, but this is a wonderful read.  I loved reading how Vann and Drayton managed to connect after so long, and it was also wonderful to see old characters revisit – especially Julian and Matt.  This story showed their love that was lost, through no fault of them, but how it can be rekindled when they finally meet.  I think I can pretty much guarantee that this is also one story that you will want to read time and time again. I sincerely hope that this is not the end of The Men of Halfway House, as this is a series that I want to continue.
Vann grew silent again, rubbing his thumb along Drayton’s hand. “I’m tired of life kicking my ass all the time.”
“Then maybe it’s time you kicked back.”
“Um, I’m pretty sure that’s the kind of shit that would land me back in that hell.” He patted their clasped hands with his free one. “You’re supposed to be the smart one in this relationship.”
Drayton chuckled, thankful the teasing side of Vann was still present. “What I mean is…don’t let this shit hit its mark. You’re not this tough guy everyone thinks you are.”
“You’re supposed to tell me how badass I am and how you’ve been fantasizing about me every night.”
Drayton threw his head back and laughed.
“I missed hearing your laugh all those years,” Vann whispered.
He sighed as he tilted his head toward Vann. “I need you to listen to me. Okay?”
Vann nodded, staring at their clasped hands.
“You’ve got a good heart, and I’ve learned that’s both a strength and a weakness. It’s the reason you are the most caring man I know, but also the reason you feel this pain so much.”
“You’re getting better at this whole reading people thing.” Vann tilted his face toward him, his eyes pleading as if making an effort to absorb his message. “I’m not the same guy I used to be.”
“You’re still my Vann.” Drayton reached out, placing his palm against Vann’s chest. “In here.”
“I feel as if I take one step forward then get kicked ten steps backward.” Vann softly thumped the back of his head against the wall, another tic that seemed to linger after all these years.
“You’re a fighter.”
“That’s what Four Finger Fred said.”
“Who?”
“Never mind,” Vann mumbled.
“You’re not a quitter, so don’t you dare start now. You always find a way to make things work.” Drayton quieted, hoping to convey every ounce of love he felt for the man staring back at him. “That relentless fighter, he’s the guy I fell in love with when I was a kid and he’s the guy who had the strength to pull through the last ten years. And he’s the guy staring back at me right now. Who I love. Back then, now, and always.”
“You’re a romantic fucker,” he said with a weak chuckle. Vann ghosted his fingers along Drayton’s jaw, his focus following his fingers as they traveled down his neck. Drayton’s chest tightened when Vann looked up and gave him a lopsided grin—one that bore a hint of youthful innocence Drayton hadn’t seen in so long. “I’m supposed to be the strong one, standing guard while you change the world. Now…I just feel so fucking lost.”
Drayton leaned in and pressed a kiss to Vann’s lips. “You and me, we’re a team. Don’t ever forget that. I’ll stand guard for you until you find your footing again.”
Vann wrapped his arms around Drayton’s shoulders and held him close. “Thank you.”
He slid his arms around Vann and sighed. He stroked the back of Vann’s hair and hoped his message had been received, and that his words had enough power to cast out the evil demons trying to imprison Vann’s spirit.
Jaime Reese is the alter ego of an artist who loves the creative process of writing, just not about herself. Fiction is far more interesting. She has a weakness for broken, misunderstood heroes and feels everyone deserves a chance at love and life. An avid fan of a happy ending, she believes those endings acquired with a little difficulty are more cherished.

Jax’s little brother Mason is all grown up and finds himself longing for a life of adventure. He finds it in a way he never planned late one night while walking home to the lodge beneath a full moon, when he is attacked, bitten, and left for dead by a huge black werewolf. As he’s dying and all hope is fading, he is discovered on the trail and believes he’s being saved. Instead, he’s bitten a second time, and this time by a vampire, who first drains him of the remainder of his blood and then feeds him his own. It restores Mason’s life, but the vampires take him to their mountain stronghold in Virginia, where he’s confronted again by Valerian, the leader of the vampire coven and the one who saved him. The vampire is both seductive and beautiful, and convinces a confused and traumatized Mason that they’re lovers. Mason finds himself in the middle of an ancient war between the vampires and the Dire werewolves, and during a raid, he’s captured by the wolf who first bit him, a strong alpha named Finn. Finn is powerfully attracted to him too, but Mason is changing, becoming something not quite wolf and not quite vampire—a new creature with powers of his own. In order to find himself, he has to learn the truth of what’s happening to him, and discover who his enemies and his allies really are. He has to learn to fight for his happiness even if it means making an unholy alliance to find true love.
Picture
I have to admit, as I started reading this book I wasn’t sure I would like it.  However, the more I read the more I got right into the story, and I couldn’t put it down.

You really do feel for Mason, you start to know him from the beginning of the book, and you can feel his frustration and also in some ways a sense of not belonging, wanting something more from his life.  Wow, does he get the something more from his life, when he is attacked as he walks home one night, by a black werewolf.  As he lay dying, someone else approaches him who he thinks will save him, but this time it is a vampire, who does save him, but turns him too.

The vampire, who is called Valerian, more or less keeps Mason a prisoner in his room, and also manages to make Mason think that they are lovers and have been for quite a while.  Mason doesn’t know what to think, he can’t remember much, but he believes what Valerian tells him. As Mason settles into life with Valerian, he learns about the Dire werewolves, and how the vampires and Werewolves are still at war.

When the vampires are attacked by the Dire Werewolves one day, Mason is taken by the werewolves, and there he meets the werewolf who bit him first – Finn.  At the beginning, Mason seems to really hate Finn, but there is also a pull towards him, which he seems unable to resist.  Finn then makes Mason his mate, but Mason still has feelings for Valerian, so he is confused by everything.

However, even though Vampire and the Dire Werewolves have been at war a long time, and he should hate Valerian, Finn finds that he is strangely drawn to him, and he really doesn’t know how to process these feelings.  Added to this, things are happening to Mason, which he is not admitting to anyone else.

During one attack, Finn and the other Werewolves manage to catch Valerian, but Mason is not happy with this, and then takes matters into his own hands.  But who will he chose now?  Will Mason choose Valerian or Finn?  Who is his true love??
