Lets start with the book that started it all, Opposites.
Opposites is an adult dystopian majorly M/M series set a few centuries in the future in a society where to be gay/lesbian is the norm. To be straight labels you an Opposite and makes you the outkast.

Opposites, book 1 is available now through Amazon, ARe and Smashwords.
The Library, an Opposites novella, is available now through Amazon, ARe and Smashwords.

*WARNING* Opposites is an Adult Dystopian series that contains explicit sexual content and relationships between gay, lesbian and straight couples.

Something that I've been asked a lot over these last couple years, "How did you come up with the names for your characters?" I knew straight away that this was going to be an epic sort of story, even an author friend that read an early draft commented it was like a gay Game Of Thrones. So I knew that with all the names I'd have to remember already, I did not want to use last names as well. In that aspect, I took on a Dune quality where as everyone is known by their name and their house.

Another question I've gotten is why so similar. I thought I was helping readers with that as well, but it may not have come across accurately. Take House Gaeland for instance. Fathers; Rian and Cirian. Mothers; Amaya and Amelia. Children; Aiya and Aiyan. There is a similarity in the names that made me think, these are all from the same house. I guess it didn't translate as well to some of my readers, sorry about that.

I also tried to use names that were specific to that culture for certain characters. I researched popular and historic names of each culture and that is how I came up with Nadi, Kaden, Theresa, Taryn, Tanis and a few others. There were some names I knew I wanted to use before I even started outlining the story. I chose the name Aiya after hearing it on a sci-fi movie many years ago, it always stuck with me. Adding the 'n' to it for her twin brother was easy. Rian was a spelling I'd read in a book and I loved the uniqueness of it. One of my favorite movies is 'In A Child's Name'. The mom in that movie was Theresa, with an 'h', no one ever really spells Theresa with the 'h' anymore and I've always liked that more classic spelling.

I wanted to pay respect to my family name, grandparents things like that somewhere as well. Gilley was my late Irish grandmother's maiden name, so it was a given that the house in Ireland or that part of the country would be called House Gilley. Dr. Anthony Smith... my grandfathers, Robert Antony and William Smith. I write under the name TM Smith not because I don't want people to know that Tammy Middleton is the author, but because it's the name my parents gave me. Tammy Michelle Smith is way to long to print out so I shortened it.

{For a listing of names, Houses and their meaning, head over to TTC Books and more}

And now, meet the guest of honor today, Appearances...

Appearances, can be deceiving.

Raven and Tanis are trying very hard to merge their vastly different lifestyles, but Tanis's issues with his own past could prove to be more than their fragile relationship can handle. Is their love for each other strong enough to weather the oncoming storm?

Aiya and Sawyer have fought hard to be together in a world where Opposite relationships are generally forbidden. Yet, they are still forced to keep their relationship a secret while they are outside the walls of House Gaeland.

Everyone assumes that the only threat lies outside their walls, the group of rebels led by Cillian. But something is happening within House Gaeland, something that hasn’t happened since GWI. And with all the attention focused on that, their guard is down. An evil that was under their nose all along strikes, and someone will make the ultimate sacrifice to save another.

At the end of Opposites Cirian shared a secret with his children, the identity of the person known to them as Gorilla Man. Everyone was coming to terms with the relationship that was developing between Aiya and Sawyer, and Tanis proposed to Raven.

Now it is time for Aiya and Aiyan to travel to their spouses homes and meet their people. But that is more the backdrop of this story, as this book concentrates more on the ever growing relationship between Raven and Tanis. The Priest from House Gaeland and his warrior from House Orion. Raven is wise but slightly naive. He never gave much thought to a family or a husband, not that it's forbidden, he just never thought he'd share his heart with anyone but God. But the inked upped, muscled upped man from Greece that Raven describes as all attitude, muscles and ink... well he rooted his way in there under the radar.

While the relationship between Raven and Tanis doesn't seem to be moving any faster than the twins, in actuality it is. Aiya and Aiyan have known about their matches for years, they know them even if only on paper. These two young men are learning about each other as they go. And once they get to Greece, Raven learns that the description of his fiance from before they met, "A man in every port", well there wasn't ever a truer statement. Tanis had always been promiscuous, and now it may come back to bite him in the ass, so to speak.

More secrets will be revealed and a new threat will emerge. But the root of everything that keeps these people and these relationships strong, their love and faith in one another, is the constant that will keep them all alive.

I'm still hoping to release Appearances on August 31st, but right now that is a tentative date. I've had some personal issues these last several months, one of those being Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I've now had the surgery on both hands, but it has set me back quite a bit with my writing. So I wanted to let you all know that I am moving forward as fast as my body will allow, and also share the first two chapters with you. An appetizer, if you will. Do remember that this is still a work in progress and while it has gone through BETA and a round of editing, there is still some clean up to do before release. So ignore any mistakes and enjoy this exclusive look into Appearances.

Unyielding
Aiyan walked through the garden, violin case in hand, heading toward the bench that sat in the center. Sitting, he removed his violin and stroked the strings. He hadn’t played in days and needed to feel the instrument in his hands as he poured his pain into the music. It was the only outlet he could think of at the moment that wouldn’t cause someone else bodily harm.
His life had changed drastically over the past several months. He met and married his match who, thankfully, turned out to be his soul mate. He knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that he loved Kaden like no other almost from the minute he laid eyes on him. He realized just how much and how much he stood to lose when Kaden was kidnapped by his uncle. An uncle he didn’t even know he had until after they’d rescued Kaden and brought him back home where he belonged.
He heaved in a deep breath and brought the instrument up to rest on his shoulder, running the bow across the strings a few times to adjust the tone. Then he closed his eyes and let it all go, let all of the pain and anger flow out of his body and into the music. He thought of Kaden inside the palace, in their room packing for their impending trip to House Devi. He thought back to the first time they’d made love after the incident. How loving, tender and gentle he was with his husband; who was still broken and bruised from his captivity.
For a moment he felt the anger seeping back into him as his thoughts strayed to Gorilla man, his uncle, and the violin screamed out a note in agony. He released a breath and regained his composure, moving his thoughts back to Kaden and how they’d leaned on each other in those days and weeks when they first returned to the palace. The melody leveled out as Aiyan stopped trying to control the emotions and just let them flow freely, the insanely beautiful whine of music filled the night air.
***
Kaden closed the last suit case and lifted it off the bed, carrying it over and sitting it by the door with the others. He stood upright when he thought he heard a shrill cry coming from outside their bedroom window. Their bedroom was just off one side of the garden when you looked out the window, which made sense as the garden was Aiyan’s favorite place to be. Kaden walked over and threw the window open, closing his eyes and smiling when he realized what it was he’d heard.
Kaden quickly made his way out of the palace and out into the garden, hell, he would have just jumped out the window to make the trip quicker if he thought he could do it without hurting himself. Kaden rounded the corner and stopped, soaking in the sight of his husband, completely oblivious and completely sexy.
Aiyan’s eyes were closed and the tip of his tongue just barely escaped his mouth, as his head jerked to the side occasionally with certain notes of the song. Kaden could see how relaxed he was surrounded by the things he loved most. The garden that captured so much color and beauty, and his violin that shared not only the color and beauty inside of Aiyan, but the talent he held as well.
Every emotion Aiyan was feeling played across his face as he felt them, Kaden just stood still and watched. The emotions blended flawlessly with the notes; anger brought on a loud shrill note and a scrunched up face; happiness brought on a flowing, sharp squeal and a slight smile; and then sadness was the lightest note of all as a tear trickled down Aiyan’s cheek.
Aiyan’s eyes opened when he heard a low crack as Kaden moved toward him, stepping on a twig. “Oh, sorry, I was just letting off some steam.” Aiyan said, moving to put away his violin.
Kaden moved quickly over to him, “No, please... don’t stop. It was beautiful my prince, please play more for me.” Kaden slid onto the far corner of the bench, smiling slightly as Aiyan smiled back at him.
“You like to beg, don’t you?” Aiyan said playfully, that crooked grin taking over his face. It was true, Kaden had said those exact words to him the night they met, here in the garden, the first time Aiyan kissed him. “No, please... don’t  stop.” Aiyan put his instrument away and then just sat there, silent, staring at the ground. Kaden could not only see, but feel the war of emotions raging inside him. The bond they had seemed to have been there since that first meeting, when they saw the same vision of them kissing on the bed. And it only grew stronger when they were separated. Truth be told, their bond had saved Kaden’s life when Gorilla man had thrown him down that well.
Kaden reached up and pushed Aiyan’s hair back behind his ear, stroking the lobe with his fingers softly as he did. “My prince, tell me what troubles you.” Aiyan didn’t speak, didn’t look up at him, he didn’t even flinch. Kaden scooted a little closer and ran his hand down Aiyan’s arm, joining their fingers together. Still, Aiyan didn’t so much as squeeze his hand back, not even acknowledging Kaden’s attempt to placate him. Kaden brought himself around in front of Aiyan, wedging himself on his knees on the ground between Aiyan’s legs, staring up at him, refusing to be ignored.
They stared into each other’s eyes for several long, intense moments. Kaden toyed with the right words to say, and decided words weren’t what was needed right now. He leaned up and kissed his husband. He just held his lips to Aiyan’s briefly, not attempting to deepen the kiss. When he pulled back Aiyan’s eyes remained closed and he took a few shallow breaths.
“Don’t shut me out Aiyan, not now, we’ve been through too much for you to give me the silent treatment.” That crooked grin was trying to make an appearance Kaden thought, as the corner of Aiyan’s mouth twitched slightly. “There is nothing you can’t tell me. I know you want to deal with these emotions and this anger you feel on your own, but that is the problem Aiyan. Have you thought that the reason you can’t get past this is because you are trying to do it alone? You aren’t alone Aiyan, I am here, right here in front of you, begging you to…….” Kaden didn’t get the rest of his sentence out before he was grabbed and hauled up into Aiyan’s lap. Aiyan’s lips came down on his hard and fierce as Aiyan attempted to tongue fuck him right there on the bench.
Aiyans fingers dug into Kaden’s shoulders and he poured everything he was feeling into the kiss. Kaden moaned into his mouth and melted into his touch as the kiss ignited a fire inside him. The combination of his own hunger coupled with Aiyan’s left his head spinning. Aiyan pulled back, gasping for breath, when he opened his eyes Kaden saw that they’d turned gold around the rims and he smiled. Aiyan leaned forward until their foreheads were touching, still breathing heavy.
“Okay Kaden, okay. Let’s go back to our room and talk.” He panted out between breaths.
“Just talk?” Kaden whispered. Aiyan barked out a laugh and smacked his ass, which caused Kaden to yelp.
They barely made it into their room before Kaden quickly divested them of their clothing. He pushed Aiyan back against the door and climbed up him, devouring his mouth. Aiyan spun them around as he lifted Kaden up off the floor, and slammed him up against the unyielding wooden door. Kaden wrapped both legs around Aiyan’s waist and thrust his hips up. Aiyan threw his head back and gasped when Kadens thick, hard cock rubbed up against his own. Aiyan kissed him again, his lips as unyielding and hard as the door Kaden was pressed up against. Then he proceeded to fuck Kaden into oblivion, right there up against the bedroom door.
Kaden woke in their bed with the soft touch of Aiyan’s fingers, trailing down his back and over his ass, then tracing back up the path they’d just taken. “Are you awake?” Aiyan whispered.
“I am now.” Kaden just chuckled.
Aiyan didn’t speak again for a while. He just ran his hands along Kaden’s skin, setting it on fire. Finally, he let out a ragged sigh, “I’ve never felt the kind of anger I feel toward him Kaden, and it scares me. I swear sometimes I feel like the hatred will consume me. I want to kill him, I want him to suffer. What does that say about me Kaden, for Christ sake, he’s my uncle?!” Even if the touch of Aiyan’s fingers on his skin hadn’t gone from gentle to rough, Kaden could feel Aiyan’s anger inside him through the bond they shared.
Kaden rolled over onto his back and Aiyan laid his head on his chest, he ran his fingers through Aiyan’s hair comforting and calming him all at the same time. “It says that you are my husband, my partner and you will do anything to make sure I’m safe. I would do the same for you. Do you feel better, now that you told me this?” Aiyan nodded but didn’t speak. “Then that is enough for now. I love you Aiyan and we will deal with this together. Everything, always together.” Aiyan smiled and Kaden could feel the curve of his husbands lips on his skin, which made him smile in turn, remembering.
Those three words took Aiyan back to the past, to the night they decided to get their named tattoos. When Aiyan first broached the subject just days before their Mehndi ceremony, Kaden had balked at the idea. But then when Aiyan and Raven showed Kaden drawings of what Aiyan was suggesting they do, Kaden couldn’t deny the sentiment in the gesture.
“I want to get our names tattooed on our arms, here.” Aiyan spoke softly to Kaden as he withdrew his fingers from where they’d been wrapped in Kaden’s and rolled up his sleeve, showing the spot on his upper arm.
Kaden scowled at him, “Don’t you think that is a little grandious, my prince? And what would they say? Aiyan and Kaden, respectively. Or M’anam and My Prince?” Aiyan turned that wickedly sexy crooked grin on his partner before he answered.
“I think our given names, and in a calligraphy style of writing with maybe a celtic border?” Aiyan presented his answer as a question, it would seem he had put a lot of thought into this venture. Kaden still wasn’t convinced, until the next day after lunch, when Raven found him and Aiyan in the library and showed them the drawings he’d made in a likeness of what Aiyan wanted the tattoo’s to show.
“Wow, that’s really simplistic. I was expecting something more… just, more.” Kaden was pleasantly surprised with the simple, uniqueness of the designs. He had no ink anywhere on his body, having never found anything he wanted to permanently place on his skin. But this, this was a representation of his commitment to Aiyan, a way to show everyone he belonged to this man. So when Raven told them he could do the tattoos right then, Kaden didn’t allow himself time to reconsider, he just nodded in agreement and followed Aiyan and Raven.
It was a given that Aiyan’s tattoo would be placed on his left upper arm as he already had a large eagle, and a dragonfly on his right upper arm. Kaden thought his should go on his left arm as well, not only to mirror where his future husbands ink would go, but it was also the hand where their wedding rings would be.
Kaden followed as Raven led them to the area of the palace where the guards slept. “The Guardai and The Order are housed in this wing of the palace. And while Raven’s room is in the main area of the palace with the family, he still keeps a room here as well. He has artwork, instruments, some swords he’s collected and his tattoo equipment here.” Aiyan told Kaden as they walked through the never ending hallways within House Gaeland.
“Oh, and the collection of bibles.” Aiyan stopped mid stride and turned to face Kaden. “There are bibles dating back to before Anthony’s time, Raven has, what a dozen or so?” Aiyan turned to Raven who just nodded his response, before turning back to Kaden. “I’ve read several of them. It’s so interesting to see the different translations, how they are all different, and yet… the same.”
Raven entered the room they’d stopped at and Aiyan and Kaden followed him in. The walls were covered almost floor to ceiling with art and drawings, some of which Kaden was certain Raven had created himself. There was a small bookshelf that indeed held a dozen or so bibles, a rack that held several swords and in the corner sat the oddly made chair that could be molded and shaped to hold a person’s body in the correct position for whatever ink they would be getting at the time. Raven motioned for Aiyan to sit as he opened the case with the tools, “You first Aiyan, so Kaden can see what I’m doing and how, since this is his first tattoo.”
Kaden watched as Raven took the wax paper he had drawn the design on and held it over Aiyan’s arm. His gaze continued to roam over Aiyan’s bare chest, those hard muscles and defined abs, up to his adams apple and then landed on that crooked grin. When their eyes met, Aiyan’s dominate brown eyes sparkled, full of love for only Kaden.
“All done!” Raven stated, turning and grabbing a towel from the table next to him. He ran the towel over the design and then applied some type of ointment from a jar. He noticed Kaden watching his every move, a question in his glare. “It’s just a precaution, some healing herbs mixed with the oils from the allive plant. Can you believe they used to apply tattoos with needles, driving the ink into the skin, and there was so much blood. The risk of infection then was much higher than now, the laser pretty much cordarizes the skin as I draw the image, so no risk of infection. But, better safe than sorry, right.”
Aiyan smiled up at him and twisted his body, holding his arm out for Kaden to see. There on his lovers arm was his name, Kaden, in a fancy script with a border across the top and bottom of the words that was somewhere between the design of barbed wire and a trinity knot.
“Your turn.” Raven waved his hand motioning Aiyan out of the chair and all but pushed Kaden into it. Kaden closed his eyes and rested his head on the back of the chair. He felt the tight grip of Raven’s fingers, digging into his arm to hold it still, the heat from the laser as it traced each letter into his skin. A.I.Y.A.N and then the faint trace of the border, but it was never uncomfortable or painful. He opened his eyes when he felt the brush of the towel on his skin.
Aiyan pulled him up and into his body and they were chest to chest, Kaden had to hold in a gasp when their naked nipples brushed together. Aiyan leaned down and kissed him, running his fingers over his name that was now permanently inked on Kadens arm, keeping time with his tongue that brushed over Kaden’s bottom lip. Aiyan pulled back but kept his hand on Kaden’s arm, gently tracing the letters of his name, “Everything, always together.” He whispered.
Aiyan raised his head and smiled down at him, moving his body up and over Kaden’s. His smile widened when Kaden groaned and thrust his hips up, rubbing their groins together. They were both already impossibly hard, again. “Ready for round two? Want me to fuck you into the mattress this time?” Aiyan said, leaning down and running his tongue along Kaden’s collar bone. Kaden just laughed and rolled them on the bed where he was on top of Aiyan.
“Oh no my prince, I’m going to fuck you into the mattress.”

Angry
Cillian sat at the table pushing the food on his plate around in circles, more interested in reinforcing his men than eating. The encampment he’d found shelter in wasn’t much more than a stones throw away from the palace, but in hind sight, he thought this would be the last place his family would look for him anyway.
He sat and listened to one of the elders telling some of the other’s of how proud he was of the man one of their own had become. This Sawyer, son of Adam and Anna who were proud Outkasts. Apparently Sawyer’s mother died during child birth, and then his father died in a fire here on the grounds just over a dozen years ago. Sawyer was basically adopted by the Ambassador’s of House Devi, the house of that bastard Indian filth that his nephew had wed.
Apparently his niece who was wed to the feisty little bitch from the greek house was, in fact, in love with Sawyer. He tucked that little morsel of information into the back of his mind for a later date. Soon, Cillian would have to weed out how many followers he had here, and if it was even worth staying or moving on to the next group of Outkasts.
Cillian held his knife in a tight grip, jaw clenched, drawing on every ounce of reserve he had to stop from climbing over the table and cutting the old man’s tongue out of his mouth. If for no other reason than to see him bleed. A gruff voice to his right drew Cillian out of his murderous thoughts.
“If you ask me, the whole lot of them should be burned at the stake. I mean, who are they to tell us who we should love. That I can’t have the same liberties, freedoms and opportunities they have because I’m a man that likes women.”
Cillian stole a glance at the stranger beside him. He was a big man, with arms the size of tree trunks, long dark hair pulled back in a ponytail with a weathered grin plastered on his rugged featured face. Next to him sat a smaller but toned younger man with redder hair than Cillian had ever seen in his life. “And who’s that, your girlfriend?” Cillian nodded in the red heads direction, drawing a snarl and a glare from the smaller man.
The big man threw his head back and bellowed, a full laugh that was so loud and boisterous, it shook the table. “No, Augie here is my best mate, a damn fine lad, even if he does prefer the company of a man to that of a large breasted female.”
“You know who I am?” Cillian questioned.
“Ah, yes, the bastard child of Kiernan and Gabriel. The former Ambassador’s to House Gaeland, and the current Ambassador’s to House Gilley. Dumped off here with the outkasts just hours after your birth when you failed your mapping test. Does that about sum it up?” the big man stated in a gleeful tone.
“Well, it seems you have me at a disadvantage. You are?”
“Hell’s Bell’s, how rude of me, names Robert!” the big man thrust his hand toward Cillian, who grudgingly shook, then reached over and shook the red head’s hand as well.
“So what can I do for you fine gentlemen today?” the clipped tone Cillian spoke in assuredly shown his patience was wearing thin.
“Word travels fast among those that are loyal to your cause Cillian. We should talk, but not here, somewhere more private. A group of us have a place a mile or so north of here where we prefer to spend our time, we just come here to the main camp for food, supplies and occasional company. Meet us at the stables in an hour and you can follow us there, meet the rest of our group, and… get to know us a little better.” Robert stole a glance at Augie and Cillian couldn’t help but be curious at what they were offering. He also had a niggling feeling of recognition in the back of his mind every time he met Augie’s green gaze.
Cillian simply nodded once in reply, to which Robert nodded in agreement before he and Augie stood and left the tent. What harm could come from hearing them out, Cillain thought. His mind ever wary of trusting anyone played out the various scenarios. Perhaps they were allies to his cause, but perhaps they weren’t and they meant to capture him for his brother. Just the thought of Cirian and his charmed life made Cillian’s blood boil.
No, Cillian brushed the thought aside, there was something in the red headed mans stare, an anger that swayed Cillian. His gut told him the men were sincere and that he could at least trust their intent. Appetite renewed, he quickly downed his food before leaving the tent virtually unseen, to go and meet his new friends at the stable.

Did that wet your whistle? Anticipating the full story? Well just you wait! As it is right now I'm at 26 chapters (52000 words aprox) and there is still a bit more to add. So, again, I'm hopeful I can still bring this to you on August 31st, but I will definitely keep you all up to date on the official release date.

This M/M suspense novel, Secrets In The Air by Liz Borino!

Rhett's passion is flying and he loves his husband Kaden more than anything even flying. He has been entrusted with the family airline, O'Neil Airways. His flights include both corporate and humanitarian. Rhett's mom, Elise tries to help her son with his new responsibilities but her words of advice are leading to devastating actions. Soon the truth about the death of his sister will be revealed. Now Kaden must protect his husband and himself from the family secret or the consequences might put them in serious danger.

I love all the twists that are in this story and ones that you don't see coming and what an amazing explosive ending. Rhett has been with his loving husband for 13 years and they have an amazing relationship. Rhett has a very strained relationship with his mother and basically calls his father a sperm donor. When his father enters the story it gets more twisted than you can believe and his mother is another disaster story in itself. I adored the cute relationship Rhett had with his grandfather.

The author takes you on a journey of intrigue, suspense and major drama and this was such an interesting and fun read. She kept everything flowing so well and smooth and I enjoyed her characters very much and everything that Rhett and Kaden had to endure. I recommend this novel to anyone who loves a good M/M suspense novel!

Wealthy family…

Childhood tragedy…

A love defying all odds…

Secrets in the Air
Flying is in Rhett O’Neil’s blood. And nothing makes this pilot fly higher than wrapping himself in his husband Kaden’s arms. He’s thrilled when his grandfather entrusts him with O’Neil Airways, the family’s charter airplane business. With a mix of humanitarian and corporate clients, Rhett plans a bright future where his success improves the world.
Elise, Rhett’s mother, begins offering advice to “help” her son through the transition into increased responsibility. As evidence surfaces that her words are escalating into devastating actions, the truth comes out about the death of Rhett's sister Annabelle. Kaden has to race to protect his husband and himself from the consequences of the Secrets in the Air before it’s too late.

The wind assaulted Rhett O’Neil’s torso as he drove down Highway 495 on his motorcycle. He had every intention of heading straight home after landing his plane “Betsy,” but when he checked his phone, he found a message from his grandfather asking him to make a quick trip to the estate. What Pop wanted, he got. Rhett hoped they kept it short, because after a week away he would much prefer to make it home for dinner with his husband, who… Shit! I forgot to call Kaden. Before he could correct this grievous error, his phone rang through his Bluetooth helmet. He answered, “I love you.”
Kaden released a breath resonating with relief and exasperation. “Sure you do. I thought you’d be waiting for me after my shift. Isn’t that what we discussed forty-five minutes ago when you finished screwing around with Betsy?”
Rhett laughed. “Checking a faulty engine blade is far from screwing Betsy.”
“You made that unnecessarily dirty.” But Kaden laughed, too, so Rhett concluded it was very necessary.
When their laughs turned to chuckles, Rhett said, “I should have let you know Pop asked me to stop by for something quick. I’m not sure what, though.”
“Please don’t tell him about the engine blade, Rhett. I’d like to see you sometime before my next shift,” Kaden said. He worked as a nurse from seven a.m. to three p.m. at the drug rehab floor of the local hospital.
“Stop. We’re not going to talk all night. Believe me when I tell you, I’d rather be home without clothes on, eating the dinner you promised.”
Kaden quieted on the other end.
“You are making dinner, right?” Rhett clarified.
“Roast beef has been cooking in the crock pot all day. But, see, we’d have to eat it upstairs if you planned to be naked.” Kaden’s voice now held an element of concern.
“Why?” Rhett asked.
“I’ll tell you when you aren’t driving. Be careful on that death trap.”
Rhett never understood why his motorcycle was a death trap, but Betsy provided perfectly acceptable transportation. And then he heard a shriek in the background. “What is that?”
“Lassie,” he answered, concern turned to defeat.
“Doesn’t sound like a dog.”
“It’s a cat. We talked about this. We agreed a cat would be an acceptable pet for our lifestyle,” Kaden reminded him.
Flicking on the blinker, Rhett turned off the exit. He had said that, but he didn’t expect Kaden to go out and get a cat while he was away. “Why did you name it Lassie?”
“Her. And that was her name for the first six months of her life.”
“Fair enough. I’m here, and I won’t stay long. Then you can explain why we have to confine nudity to the bedroom like teenagers,” Rhett said as he leaned over and punched in the security code to open the gate to his grandfather’s estate.
“Tell him I’m making dinner. He’s very concerned about your nutritional intake.”
Rhett drove around the maze that led to the main house. “Yes, but he might invite himself over if I tell him what you’re making.”
“Not if you mention Lassie. I love you. Please call me before you sit on that bike.” Kaden hung up without leaving space for Rhett to protest.
He shook his head and removed his helmet as he dismounted the motorcycle. Rhett paused to stroke the sleek paint job on his red Kawasaki. He didn’t care what Kaden thought, Rhett relished the thrill of riding. Kaden had seen too many fatalities from motorcycle accidents during his ER rotation in nursing school to feel the same. So maybe he did understand, but the peace on the issue was hard-won. Rhett tucked his helmet into the compartment under the seat and strode up to the house. The door swung open and Rhett smiled at Martha, his grandfather’s long-time household manager. “Heard the muffler?” he asked, taking off his coat and handing it to her.
“Your grandfather did. He’s in his study. I left snacks in there for you two.”
Rhett kissed her cheek. “Thank you.” He made his way through the expansive rooms decorated with the best art money could buy. A modern painting stopped him in his tracks. The splash of color and uneven lines contrasted with everything else in house. Rhett dashed to the study, knocked once and opened the slightly ajar door. “Are you going insane, Pop?”
Donald Everett O’Neil sat up, raised his eyebrow and grinned. “Unfortunately, not yet.” He gestured Rhett into the study, which was covered by model planes and pictures of his grandfather posing with the greats of aviation. Rhett was included in quite a few of those, as well. Yet in every one, he stared admiringly at his grandfather, as opposed to the celebrity sharing the shot.
“Unfortunately?” Rhett asked.
“Yes, Everett, sanity can be so taxing in one’s old age. I believe dementia is a self-defense mechanism so we aren’t forced to watch history repeat itself again, while no one heeds our warning,” his grandfather said. “How’d the flight go?”
Rhett shrugged. “No real problems. I’m sure you checked the stats before asking, so you’re well aware.”
Don’s laugh turned to a cough, which he calmed with a few sips of water. “Don’t smoke.”
“You can stop, you know.”
“And you can get rid of the bike, but we all have our vices. I’m old. I deserve to keep mine until it kills me.” Don removed his reading glasses and sat back in his chair. “Which is sort of what I wanted to talk to you about.”
“Smoking?”
“No. Dying.”
Rhett’s jaw dropped and his forehead moistened. “You’re… What’s wrong?”
Don waved him off. “Nothing’s wrong. Not that I know of, anyway. I am sixty-four, and don’t intend to live forever. Actually, I would love to die before asshole politicians run this country further into the ground. But not yet.”
“Pop,” Rhett started, raising his hand, “can you please get to the point?” He loved his grandfather, but he could not handle a rant about the government today.
“When did you get so impatient?”
“I have dinner and a husband at home waiting for me,” he answered.
“Your marriage is good then? You take care of each other?”
Rhett blinked, trying to follow the train of thought. His grandfather, while always supportive, never pried into his love life. “Yes.”
Don nodded. “I knew you would when you first brought him home.” The man’s voice had faded out again as he met Rhett’s eyes. “Your family is the most important ingredient of a happy life. I’m ensuring you have that before we continue this conversation. So, one more time, do you and Kaden have a strong relationship?”
“Yes.”
“That’s what I thought.” Don slid a paper across the desk to Rhett. “What I’m discussing will not make your mother happy. You need to be prepared for that.”
“Yeah, well, she made her choices.” Like to move to California with her husband after they released the asshole from prison. Rhett, at fifteen, had refused to move with them, and Pop adopted him. One of the best days of Rhett’s life was when he took his grandfather’s last name, shedding the otherwise permanent tie to the man who donated his sperm to fertilize his mother’s egg.
Don sighed again. “I wish you’d make peace with her.”
“I have. Mom and I are fine as long as she doesn’t reference the donor. If I don’t have to hear about him, I can pretend she divorced him like she should have. Now, Pop, what isn’t going to make her happy?” Rhett tried to keep his exasperation at bay as he picked at the hummus and pita bread.
“I will get there.”
Thought you wanted to die before the politicians ruined the country? Rhett nodded instead of voicing his thoughts. He’d have to find a way to make the delay up to Kaden later.
“You’re doing a fantastic job with taking on a leadership role in the company. I can tell you love it.”
The corners of Rhett’s mouth lifted. “You knew I would. I’ve worked for you since I was twelve.”
“I knew you loved flying, but that isn’t the same as leading. You’ve gained respect by taking responsibility of all parts of the business,” Don continued.
“That’s how you make sure it’s done right,” Rhett repeated the words his grandfather had told him throughout his childhood.
Don nodded again, wearing a smile of his own. “Everett, there’s something that I haven’t shared with you yet. The company does more than provide flights to wealthy people. We also work with the FBI.”
Rhett snapped his gaze back to his grandfather’s. “You do what? Aren’t they the same people ruining your beloved country?”
“No, I refuse to do business with stupid people. The company assists the rescue division of the FBI, particularly human trafficking cases,” Don said.
“Human trafficking, like the sex trade?”
“Yes, to put it broadly, the FBI tracks cases of girls and young women who go missing. This unfortunately happens every day, but the government pays special attention when the missing girls are of a lower socio-economic class and when the disappearances occur in the same geographic area,” he explained. “They’ve currently zoomed in on several larger organizations. The missions are to apprehend the traffickers and rescue the girls.”
“Are you qualified to help with that?” Rhett asked.
“I’m qualified to fly a plane and keep my mouth shut. The FBI has grown to rely on me, but the truth is I’m not as young as I used to be. Is this something you would be willing to do occasionally?”
Though not sure exactly what he was agreeing to, Rhett nodded.
“Perfect. Now for the part that’ll make your mother unhappy. I’m retiring, and I would like to give you part of your inheritance early, which means in the next few weeks I’ll draw up the paperwork so you and I will share all the assets of the company, in addition to about twenty-five percent of the money I have set aside for you.”
“Thank you, but… why?” Rhett’s head spun at the thought. His grandfather had already provided him with a trust fund that he used to put himself through school and buy Betsy. He finally glanced down at the paper, which detailed the money he would receive and the legalities of the co-ownership.
“Because you’re responsible. I trust you and I’d like to keep the wealth, especially the business, in the family.” His grandfather handed him a signed check, then stood and embraced his grandson. “Be careful on the road.”
After thanking him again, Rhett sent a text to Kaden, ‘Sorry that took so long, but trust me, it was worth it.’

Author: Ella Frank

Take by Ella Frank is Book Two in the Temptation Series....make sure to read TRY which is Book One!

Logan Mitchell has always TAKEN what he wants and the word NO is not something that he is accustomed too. This way of thinking has always been very successful for Logan in his personal and professional life and this also worked wonders the night he meets beautiful bartender Tate. Logan in the first time in a long time has found himself in a conflict and he has to make a choice and this decision will force him to take a chance on something real.

Tate Morrison has always TAKEN chances in his life and this one night he took one of the biggest chances he has ever taken and that was in meeting Logan. He has thought it was just simply a physical attraction to Tate but he soon realizes that this is just the tip of the iceberg. He is now dreaming of what their life would be like together which would be the most amazing and beautiful relationship. Now the questions for both men start and will they make it as a couple? Will their own issues and baggage be too much for them to handle? Can they love each other for exactly who they are? Will Logan and Tate have an HEA?

This story starts off where TRY left off with Logan waking up in the bed of the not so straight Tate. I was overjoyed that Logan wanted to TAKE a chance on something that could be amazing and beautiful with Tate. The author takes us on a beautiful view of this new and fragile relationship that they guys are starting. I thought how the author wrote about Tate's attraction to Logan and how new this was for him considering what his sexuality has always been was so brilliantly done. Ella wrote so realistically when dealing about Tate's inner struggle with his sexuality and coming out to his very Catholic family. The bigotry that follows him opening up to his family is very real for many gay men with dealing with acceptance. I was thrilled how Ella wrote it in such a beautifully and heart wrenching way. Then comes the famous ex-wife finding out but it gave Logan more reasons to use his smart mouth when putting Diana in her place, I loved these scenes and was grinning like a Cheshire cat. The coming to terms with being gay that Tate had to deal with was some of the most brilliant and beautifully done writing. His internal issues has so many different variables to it and Ella again got it spot on.

I loved the character of Tate and all his struggles and waiting for him was the man who loved Tate more than anyone else is the beautiful Logan. I completely felt these men so much and  their love for one another was some amazing reading. I can't recommend this novel TAKE by Ella Frank enough as it was one of my favourite gay novels in a long time and you will love reading about the love that Logan and Tate share!!!!

Synopsis

TAKE – verb: to reach for and hold in one’s hands or get into one’s possession, power or control.

Logan Mitchell is a man who’s always been more than happy to take what he wants. It’s a philosophy that’s proven lucrative in both his business and personal life, and never was it more apparent than the night he laid eyes on Tate Morrison. After pulling out all the stops and convincing the sexy bartender to give him a try—he’s hooked.

Now, Logan finds himself in a predicament that demands more from him than a smart-ass answer and his innate ability to walk away when things get too deep.

He has a choice to make, and it’ll force him to do something he’s never done before—take a chance.

Tate Morrison knows all about taking a chance. He took the biggest one of his life the night he showed up at Logan’s apartment to explore his unexpected reaction to the man.

Ever since then, he’s thought about little else.

At first he was convinced his attraction was based solely on his body’s curiosity. But the more time he spends with the silver-tongued lawyer, the more Tate realizes that their physical chemistry is only the beginning.

He’s starting to catch a glimpse of what life with Logan would be like, and it’s one full of excitement and satisfaction—a far cry from what he had in the past with his soon to be ex-wife.

Each man will face their fears as they begin to understand the true meaning of give and take. Their feelings for one another will be tested, as will their very beliefs. But now that they’ve found love where they least expected it, will they be brave enough to reach out and take it?

“That’s your truck?”

“Yes.”

“It’s so…”

“So what?” Logan challenged as he pulled his keys from his pocket.

“Old?”

“Excuse me. I’ll have you know I was driving this baby all through college and she still runs like a dream.”

Tate watched as Logan walked over to run his hand over the scratched-up tailgate, and he was amazed that he even made that look sexy. Like he was stroking a lover.

“And it’s a she, huh?”

Now around at the passenger’s side, Logan opened the door and looked at him over the bed of the truck. “Yeah. Jealous?”

Laughing, Tate walked over to where Logan stood with a hand on the door and kissed him slowly on the mouth.

“I’m jealous of anything you stroke like that.”

“Get in the truck, Tate.”

“Or else?”

Logan stepped forward, crowding him back against the inside frame of the vehicle. “You’re not ready for the or else…”

**********Book Review**********
Invicta: Salvation-Book One in the Invicta Series by Piper Kay.....5 Star Review

Kaiden and Holt have been together for 15 years and now it's the grand opening of their new club, Invicta and now they're taking a look back at how they met. When they met, Holt wakes up to a very angry and abusive father and then finds himself homeless and alone in the world. He meets a guy who helps him out and starts to realize that maybe this was for the best. Kade has always avoided the closeness and intimacy and goes from guy to guy in search of what he has always longed for and then he meets Holt and everything changes.

I loved how the story starts out 15 years after the morning they met which takes them on their discovery of love for one another. I adored how much they mean to each other and how much they support one another. Holt has many insecurities which does seep into their relationship. Now it's up to Kade to prove to the man he loves that it's always been him and will only ever be him. It was hard to read how Holt's father treated him in such a hateful and disgusting way but very important to the story. This is a very realistic part of a gay man's life and so great that Piper wrote about something that happens all the time.

Pipers writing is so beautifully done and how she kept the lines from past and present so very clear and concise was very well done. The way the characters complimented each other was just so brilliantly written and you really felt their love for each other. I loved how Kade was the true bad boy but when it came to Holt, he gave himself completely to the man he loves which didn't come easily for Kade. The characters were so much fun to read and their journey and self discovery just made for a beautiful love story. I truly cherished the relationship between these two men and what they meant to each other. In this world it's just the two of them and their love will withstand any outside forces that try to separate them. I highly recommend this beautiful love story to anyone who wants to know the absolute true meaning of what love actually means.

”What would you like to tell everyone about you that they wouldn't already know from reading your books?”
 I'm a natural blonde
Can you tell us your latest news?
Invicta: Salvation is releasing on July 13 as part of The Naughty Box 2
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
September 2012 when I signed my first publ contract with Evernight Publishing
What inspired you to write your first book?
The characters in my head wouldn't leave me alone. I threatened them, but they wouldn't leave, only threatened back, to explode my brain
Do you have a specific writing style?
Well, I write in first person, from a man's pov, a cocky tone and pretty blunt. I do curse like a sailor. I think I was probably a man in a past life or something
How did you come up with the title?
I came up with Invicta from a late night infomercial
“What do you want your readers to get out of your novels?”
That love is love, and it doesn't matter your age, gender, race you work for it and fight for what you believe in
“Is the book mostly fantasy or do you think these situations could actually happen?”
Oh these situations could definitely happen
Now I love music just as much as reading, I normally listen to music while I am reading. Do you think that you characters have theme songs? If so what would they be?
src="https://ytimg.googleusercontent.com/vi/0Up1xIZUAMY/0.jpg">
“Are the experiences fact based or from your imagination?”
Just my imagination
â€œWhich other authors do you feel have had the most influences on you as both a reader and a writer?”
Books by Poppet Author
What book are you reading now?
At the moment, I'm not reading anything, but sure am anxious to get my hands on Kindle Alexander's
”Have there been any authors that interest you by their writing styles or subjects?” Absolutely so, Anne Rice of course, but Indie authors are Poppet Author, Kindle Alexander and Rue Volley
What are your current projects?
The Invicta Series which is a five part series, and on
December 5 of this year, the final story in The Passion Series will be out
Do you see writing as a career?
Yes
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Of course, there is always something you would change, but the pattern and storyline of the book wouldn't change
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Invicta Salvation is a story of Holt and Kade, how they connected and went through their journey for fifteen years. They achieve Invicta, a men's go-go club, which soon becomes more that a club on book two. They didn't want any of their dancers to go through the things they did. The actual place becomes their safe haven and the people become more that just co-worker's. They actually will go through situations and help each other resolve or figure out how to handle them as a family unit                                                                                                                                                                                                             &nbs p;
Who are your three favorite authors and what is it that really strikes you about their work? Poppet Author, her passion and her research skills. You can bet if it's in her books, it's been researched thoroughly. Rue Volley-her imagination and the way she can bend the rules. I watched her from the very beginning, her drive and her perseverance and determination.  Kindle Alexander-for her sincerity. Her passion is incredible and drives. She is one of the most-tender hearted and caring people that I know.
“Have you done any promotional tours for your books?”
No never have before
Who designed the covers?
The Invicta Series, all of the covers are being done by a wonderful lady, Karrie Jax. She is a good friend of mine and does an excellent job. For Eight Second Cowboy it was Poppet who did it and the Passion Series and Naughty Box designs it was Rue Volley
What was the hardest part of writing your book?
Deciding what parts to reveal in first book and what to reveal in the other ones
“What did you learn from writing your book?”
That when you fight hard enough anything is achievable
Do you have any advice for other writers?
To keep writing and not let anyone hold you back. Follow your passion and dreams
Do have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
To thank them for all the support and love they've shown. To also say thanks to such a tight nit group, the M/M readers and authors are some of the most dedicated and loyal people that I know.
Which comes first for you, the character's story or, the idea for the novel?
For me, the story idea
What advice do you have for someone who would like to become a published writer?
To watch the authors they want to be like and do what they do. Hone your skill and always weigh the options. Read the contract thoroughly and don't be afraid to ask questions, we all had too
Is there anything else that you would like to add?
Just that Invicta Salvation is available now. And Invicta Sanctuary will be released on the 13 July, as part of the Naughty Box 2
I just want to say thank you so much for taking the time to answer these for my readers and I. I look forward to seeing more work from you in the future.
Thank you so much for having me on. You are an awesome chick!

As Kaiden McKenzie and Holt Mitchell prepare to celebrate their fifteenth anniversary, and the grand opening of their new club, Invicta, they take a look back on how their lives together began.
When Holt wakes up to an outraged father, he finds himself suddenly homeless and hungry. With the help and caring of a certain bad guy, Holt finds life isn’t quite so bad as it seems. All he needed was the right man to guide him along.
Kade has spent his life running from anyone and everyone who tries to get close, but when he meets up with Holt, he suddenly finds himself wishing for something more. Who knew he was someone’s knight in shining tattoos…

Book Two INVICTA: SANCTUARY will be apart of the naughty box 2 published by HOT INK PRESS on July 13th 2014

Holt owes me for this big time. I have to come out and save his behind from the audience on his first live dance. I might just collect my pay off from that smoking hot ass of his. I start with a body roll, drawing the attention of the crowd back to me. Swishing my hips in circles, I roll them out, then approach him.
Holt pops his out and sways from side to side, his ass rotating in a figure eight motion. Arms over my head, I dance a circle around him, grinding against him the whole way around. Back in front of him, I drop one shoulder, then alternate with hands still in the air. I lean into him.
“Play with me, Holt." I grin, and lick over my bottom lip, giving him a wink. "Play along, I mean. Counter my moves, then own them. Out do me. It's the only time I'll offer this.”
I lick up the side of his neck, then pull back, staring at him. So smooth, sensual actually. I sway up against him, not keeping beat with the music anymore, but making my own. I glide my hand around his waist, teasing him, and gently pull him into me.
“Thank you, Kade,” he whispers.
“Whatever, dance. Pretend no one else is around. Just do something already, Holt.” I'm afraid if he doesn't move away from me, I might be putting on a live fuck show

Terrific and HOT as only Piper Kay can write characters with depth. I loved the relationship between Kade and Holt. The street smart Kade was made for the unsuspecting country bumpkin Holt. The time they spent in the sheets was insta-wet, hot and then some. Oh, did I mention hot??

Book Fifteen: This book is part of a series

Glory days? If high school was their glory days, the outcast gay teens at the outreach centers run by Caden Fournier were screwed. For most of them, the torment they received at those schools and at the hands of their own families was enough to make living on the street seem like a better proposition.

Enter Camp Pride and its devoted staff of volunteers and backers. For college students Kory Maguire and Will Cooper, the camp was a way for them to help abandoned and confused gay kids find their way in life. And it didn't hurt that the incredible hunks - ex-Navy SEALs Jacob Steele and Seth Ralston - were working there, too. Straight Kory ran into Jacob in Seattle several times and found himself having lots of definitely un-straight thoughts about him. Will had been abused by his ex-boyfriend and was skittish of all men now - especially if they were twice his size, like Seth.

Werewolves Jacob and Seth have found their mates in Kory and Will. But have the fates gotten it wrong? What if Kory can't commit to a relationship with a man? Is Will too skittish to trust and give himself to someone so much more powerful than he? And can everyone put their own problems aside so that the campers can feel safe and find strength in being loved?

FBI Special Agent Devin Lyons and Russian mob boss/FBI ally Andrei Panchenko have been at each others' throats for years. Literally. They've had their hands around the other's throat lots of times. When Andrei barely escapes a bold attempt on his life, government big shot James Jacobs decides to put Devin in charge of Andrei's safety. After all, who better to keep the Russian alive than the man who wants to do the killing himself?

Andrei Panchenko knows two things as fact: Devin Lyons hates him. And the FBI agent is the sexiest man he's ever seen. Forced into cohabitation, Andrei tries to figure out why the agent wants him dead. He has been nothing but honest in owning up to his crimes and kills only the vilest men who manage to escape justice. But still Lyons (who has his own violent record) treats him with contempt. In the meantime, Andrei notices a touching side to the man that he's never seen before. And THAT scares him more than any gun.

Devin Lyons hates Andrei Panchenko. It's one of the things in his life that he can count on. Until he's forced to spend time with the ridiculously beautiful and sexy man. Seeing the "real" Andrei turns Devin's world upside down until he's not sure whether he wants to kill Andrei or make love to him.

Summer of Awakenings (Assassin/Shifter #15) Excerpt:

“Jacob?” Kory tested the name on his lips.

“So you do remember me,” Jacob smiled, motioning to the target. “Have you been practicing?”

“So you are the self- defense teacher?”

Jacob nodded, making his way closer to his mate. God, he’d missed him. “Yes, Seth and I. Are you planning on taking the course?”

Kory hadn’t thought about it, but he was thinking about it now. Jacob Steele hadn’t changed one iota. He was still beautiful. The graphite-grey eyes were smiling at him in amusement. Kory realized he was nodding his head, and his mouth hung open. Closing his mouth, Kory raised his eyes to Jacob’s.

“Yes, I guess so.” Kory tilted his head. “Where have you been? I haven’t seen you at Cuffs and Stuff.”

“Were you looking for me?” Jacob stepped closer. Kory didn’t step back.

Kory’s cheeks heated. “Maybe,” Kory looked at Jacob shyly. “What if I was?”

“I would have asked you to dance.” Jacob took another tentative step forward; again, Kory didn’t step back. “Would you have accepted?”

Kory looked up at the imposing man in front of him. Jacob Steele had to be over six foot two at least. His chest was massive, the pectoral muscles tensing as he waited for Kory’s answer.

“I would have said yes,” Kory finally said. Jacob’s lips lifted in a smile.

“Yeah?”

Kory nodded. Being this close to Jacob was making his hands tingle and his dick throb. His erection was rising in his jeans and Kory tried hiding his rising desire. Lord, what was wrong with him? He found Jacob attractive, that was a given; but kissing a man? Kory tilted his head looking at Jacob’s lips. They looked soft and inviting. A smattering of stubble covered Jacob’s chin. Kory wanted to reach out and touch it, see if it was coarse or smooth on his hands.

“Are you all right?” Jacob asked, keeping his laughter in check. He could almost hear Kory’s gears turning in his head.

“Oh, yeah. Just…um…thinking.” Kory swallowed hard, his eyes drifting southward, eyeing what Jacob was hiding in those faded blue jeans.

Jacob motioned to Kory’s hair. “I know it’s been a while, but I don’t remember your hair being that, um, particular shade.”

Kory blushed and grinned. “It was an experiment gone awry. I’m going to change it back eventually.”

Jacob crossed his arms and looked Kory over from head to toe. “I don’t know. It kind of suits you.” Jacob smiled as Kory blushed. “Well, I’ve got to get back to the athletic compound; I’ve got to get all the gear set up. So, maybe I’ll see you later?”

“Yeah, sure,” Kory forced his eyes back up to Jacob’s. Those eyes looked so familiar.

“See you later Kory Maguire,” Jacob winked before turning and heading towards the sports complex.

“Yeah, bye.” Kory watched Jacob’s ass as he retreated further from him. “Damn, that’s nice,” Kory chuckled. He straightened up as Jacob looked over his shoulder with a smile. “Shit,” Kory whispered. Had Jacob heard him? He couldn’t have. Kory stood there with what he knew was a ridiculous smile on his face. Yeah, he could see himself kissing Jacob Steele.

Into the Lyon’s Den (Assassin/Shifter #16) Excerpt:

“Oh. My. God,” Andrei hissed.

“Well now,” Devin grinned. “Good morning, Panchenko.”

“It is a joke, right?” Andrei’s eyes fell on Ivan. “It is, isn’t it?”

Devin stood up and gave Andrei a slow once over. The man wore faded, low-rise jeans and a T-shirt. His black hair was wet and tousled and his eyes were bloodshot. Devin averted his eyes and cleared his throat.

“Nope, no joke.” Devin picked up a piece of paper off the desk and gave Andrei a smirk. “I see you’re HIV free.”

“Give me that!” Andrei snarled, snatching the piece of paper from Agent Lyons. “Get away from my desk!”

Chris watched the show between the man and Andrei. “Um, Andrei? Who is this guy?”

“That,” Andrei glared at Agent Lyons. “Is Special Agent Devin Lyons.”

Chris’ eyes widened. “The FBI guy?”

Devin narrowed his eyes. “Who are you?”

“Well bend me over the desk and slap my ass,” Chris walked forward, extending his hand. “Christophe Voronova.”

Devin tilted his head. “Dimitri’s husband?”

“One and the same,” Chris took his time letting his eyes wander over the agent. Damn, but the man was eye candy. He had dirty blond hair and the most arresting blue-grey-gold eyes. Strong square jaw with a thin, regal nose. He wasn’t tall, but damn was he packed in the muscles department.

“So, you are Andrei’s bodyguard?”

“I am.” Devin sat back down after shaking Chris Voronova’s hand. “James Jacobs felt I was the best choice in this matter.”

“And why is that, exactly?” Andrei crossed his arms over his chest, eyebrow raised.

“Because I want to kill you. I don’t want anyone else taking that away from me.” Devin looked at Ivan and Christophe. “I need to speak with Panchenko. Ivan, I’ll need all the information I asked you for ASAP.”

Ivan raised his brows and Devin sighed in frustration.

“Please?”

“Fine.” Ivan took Andrei’s hand. “If you need anything, if you feel threatened —”

“Oh, do not worry, Ivan.” Andrei turned his attention to Agent Lyons. “I will kill him myself.”

Devin snorted.

Ivan opened the door to the office and ushered Chris out. Andrei waited for the door to shut before turning back to the agent. Dammit, Agent Lyons did look sexy. He wore his G-man suit and his hair was styled. Their eyes locked and Andrei felt his heart race. He needed to get his shit together; this man hated him.

“My desk?” Andrei growled.

“Get over it. We have things to discuss.” Devin narrowed his eyes. Andrei huffed, and then finally sat down.

“What do you want from me?” Andrei sat down across from Lyons.

“I need to know who you’ve killed. Off the record.”

“I will tell you what you want to know.”

Devin laughed sharply. “Sure you will.”

Andrei sat forward and earnestly regarded the agent. “I do not lie, Agent Lyons. I make no excuses for my actions. If you ask me a question, I will answer you truthfully.”

Devin sat forward as well. “How many people have you killed, Panchenko?”

“A lot.”

“Let’s start with that then,” Devin grabbed a pen and a sheet of paper. “I’ll need to know all your business dealings as well.”

“Whatever you need, you shall have it.”

Devin put the pen down and looked at Andrei. “You’re not going to argue James’ decision? Even after you know how I feel about you?”

Andrei shrugged. “I trust James; if he feels you are the best man for the job, then I will not complain.”

Devin raised a brow, but just nodded. “Fine. Let’s get started.”

An hour later, Devin’s hand was cramping. Andrei hadn’t been lying. He was confessing to every man he’d ever killed, maimed or just made disappear. Devin stretched his back out and regarded Andrei sitting stoically across from him, arms crossed over his chest, eyes trained on Devin. It was a bit unsettling, even for him.

“I have one more to ask you about.”

Andrei waved his hand in the air wearily. “Go ahead.”

“Alphonse Rizzo.” Devin smirked as Andrei grew uncomfortable in the chair. “Name’s familiar, isn’t it? See, the FBI is still looking for him, as he was a key witness to a crime.”

Andrei snorted. “Oh yes, Alphonse the saint! That bastard was responsible for the deaths of many women from heroin overdoses.”

“You killed him, didn’t you?” Devin sat forward.

Andrei leaned forward as well. “Yes, I did.”

Devin started and sat back in his chair. Andrei eyed him warily. “I didn’t think you’d be honest about that one. I had my suspicions…but…”

“I told you, Agent Lyons. I will not lie. I take responsibility for my actions as well as punishment for those actions. Now, if we are done?” Andrei rose from the chair.

“Nope, sit your ass down, Panchenko.”

Andrei put his hands on the desk and leaned into Agent Lyons’ face. “I am tired. Whatever other questions you have can wait. I must get ready for the meeting of the families.”

“That’s not for a few days.”

“You are my bodyguard, not my boss. Make sure you remember that,” Andrei snapped.

“Oooh! Feisty, aren’t you?”

“I am tired and I have a migraine and you are making it much worse.”

Devin pouted. “Awww.”

“Shut up.”

Devin tilted his head. “How?”

“How what?” Andrei raised both brows.

“How did you kill Alphonse? Did you cut him up? Blow him up? Shoot him?”

Andrei leaned forward and smiled. “I tied him up by his ankles and slit his wrists. Then I sat back with a book while he bled out.” Andrei watched the grin spread across Agent Lyons’ face.

“You are one sick bastard, aren’t you?” Devin laughed.

“An eye for an eye, Agent Lyons. Alphonse disposed of one of his victims the same way. I believe in swift justice. I knew Alphonse would walk on his crimes.”

“Well, I’ll keep that in mind.”

The Nik of Time (Assassin/Shifter #17) Excerpt:

Colin smiled and crossed the room to his dresser. The door to his room opened again; he turned and all ability to speak left him.

“Well hello roo—” Nikolai stopped mid-sentence. Colin was half naked and another guy was in his room. The anger rose so fast Nikolai didn’t have a chance to stop it. He let out a menacing growl and lunged at the guy. He found Colin in his way.

“Nik!” Colin shouted.

“What the fuck?” Nikolai snapped. “Who the fuck is this guy?”

“That’s him!” Drew shouted. “Holy hell! You know him?”

Colin stood with his hand on Nikolai’s chest. “Back off, Nikolai.”

“Who. Is. He?” Nikolai growled staring at the other guy’s face.

Drew shivered. “Oh hell. That is so fucking hot.”

Colin sighed, pushing Nikolai away from Drew. “Drew Treadman, meet Nikolai Markov. Nikolai, this is my lab partner, Drew.”

“Why is he in here while you’re naked?” Nikolai narrowed his eyes at Drew. “Are you fucking my boyfriend?”

“I am not your boyfriend!” Colin shouted. “What are you doing here?”

“Markov?” Drew cocked an eyebrow. “As in Vince Markov? That Nikolai?”

“Yes, that one,” Colin sighed. “Can I see you later, Drew? I have to have a talk with Nik.”

“Uh huh, sure, talk,” Drew winked. “Got ya.”

Colin closed the door behind Drew and banged his head on it. Taking a deep breath, he turned to find Nikolai right in his face.

“Could you please back up?”

“Are you fucking him?” Nikolai leaned in. “Are you?”

“That’s none of your business. Now what are you doing here?”

Nikolai balled his hands into fists, trying to control his anger. “I’m your roommate.”

“Excuse me?”

“You’re in danger, Colin.”

“When am I not? I’m a Greystone.”

“This is different. Didn’t Stefan call you?”

“I haven’t been taking calls.” Colin walked back over to his dresser and pulled some jeans out.

“Carmine Rizzo is your father, Colin. He’s going to come for you eventually.”

Colin turned slowly. “What did you just say?”

Nikolai walked to the phone and pushed the blinking light. Stefan’s voice floated into the room.

“Colin, look, I need you to call me as soon as you can, all right? It’s important.”

The phone beeped and another message floated over, than another.

“Colin, look this can’t wait. Carmine Rizzo is your biological father. He’s going to come for you. Don’t get angry, but your fathers and I agree that you need a little extra protection. We’re sending Nikolai to watch out for you.”

Nikolai hit the button again, silencing the answering machine. Colin sat down on the end of his bed and stared at the wall.

“Carmine Rizzo,” he whispered.

Nikolai knelt in front of Colin and took his hands. “Just because he’s your biological father doesn’t make him your dad. Uncle Mark and Uncle Paul are your fathers. You were raised by them, not by that piece of shit.”

Colin nodded absentmindedly. “I’m a Greystone.”

“Yes, you are.”

Colin blinked and realized Nikolai was holding his hands. He yanked them away and stood up.

“That’s great and all, but I don’t need a babysitter. I can take care of myself.”

Nikolai shook his head slowly and smiled. “Colin, I’m staying. You can’t get rid of me. I’m like herpes - you can calm me, but I’ll never really go away.”

“Isn’t that a fitting description,” Colin drawled.

Nikolai ignored Colin’s tone and pulled out his schedule. “So, let’s see which classes I have with you. Oh, look at that - all of them.” Nikolai grinned as Colin fumed.

“Are you planning on joining the football team as well?”

“I sure am. Coach told me I have to wear a jersey that says ‘Nik,’ though. Something about my last name invoking fear in people. I wonder why that is?” Nikolai tapped his chin with his forefinger in mock deep thought.

“Gee, I wonder.” Colin rolled his eyes.

“So, is this my side of the room?” Nikolai walked to the far side and looked at the bed. “This is way too small; we may have to push them together and make one bed.”

“Nice try.” Colin grabbed a T-shirt and pulled it over his head. Nikolai was walking around the room checking things out. He removed his leather jacket and Colin bit his bottom lip to stop himself from groaning. Nikolai’s biceps had gotten even bigger. How was that even possible? Colin narrowed his eyes and then gasped. “You were shot?”

Nik looked down at his bicep.

“Oh, yeah. Some asshole thought a 9 mil would slow me down,” Nikolai chuckled as he looked over all the contents of Colin’s dresser.

“Do you mind? Just because we share a room doesn’t mean you can touch all my stuff.”

“Can I touch that stuff?” Nikolai pointed to Colin’s crotch.

“No, that is off limits.” Colin grew serious and crossed the room to Nikolai. “Look, I want to thank you, you know, for saving my life at camp.” Colin looked up into Nikolai’s eyes and immediately regretted it. Nik had smoldering eyes that made his dick rock hard in seconds flat. He backed up and Nik took a step forward.

“I would do it again. You have to know how I feel about you, Colin.” Nikolai took Colin’s hand in his.

“No, I don’t. All I know is that you want in my pants.” Colin tried to back away further and was pulled forward.

“That’s not true. And I haven’t been with anyone in months, Colin.”

“I’m supposed to believe that?” Colin scoffed.

“Believe what you want.” Nikolai looked at the time. “We have to get to class.”

“Just how did you get into this college anyway? Stefan bribe someone?”

Nikolai bristled at the comment. “You’d be surprised, Colin. Stefan didn’t have to bribe anyone.”

“Yeah? Well you can’t fake your way through classes.”

“Well then, let’s go.”

The Littlest Assassin-Shifter (Assassin/Shifter #18) Excerpt:

“You’re back!” Riley ran to Mateo and jumped on him, wrapping his legs around his husband’s waist.

“So, I’ll just…’” Mitch stood up and quietly left the room, closing the door behind him.

“God, I missed you so much,” Mateo growled against Riley’s lips.

“I missed you, too. I need you so much, Mateo,” Riley breathed.

“Let me just lock the door.”

Mateo held Riley’s ass as he walked backwards and turned the lock on the conference room door, their lips never separating. The office windows were tinted; you could see out, but not in. A large couch occupied one wall and Mateo walked over to it, Riley still affixed to him like glue. They’d been apart for a week. It felt like a year.

Mateo eased Riley onto his back, and then climbed on top of him, his fingers making quick work of Riley’s button and zipper.

“I love you in your power suit,” Mateo nipped at Riley’s lips. “I love you even more out of it.”

Riley’s hands were all over him, unzipping his pants and then pulling at his shirt, like he couldn’t make up his mind which piece of clothing he wanted off first. Mateo helped by dragging his T-shirt over his head, leaving Riley’s hands to work with his zipper. His jeans slid over his ass and Riley’s hands were stroking his cock.

Damn, it felt good.

Mateo dragged Riley’s suit jacket off then yanked his pants down. His teeth made quick work of the buttons on Riley’s dress shirt. Riley moaned underneath him as he spit one of the buttons across the room.

“I’ll buy you a new shirt.” Mateo took Riley’s mouth.

They kissed as if they needed each other for nourishment, and Mateo knew that’s exactly what he’d found in Riley. They rolled off the couch naked and Mateo landed on top of his husband. His fingers searched his jeans for the small packet of lube he’d stashed in a pocket and Riley broke the kiss with a smile. In his hand, he held a bottle of flavored lube. Mateo’s eyebrows rose.

“Where did that come from?”

Riley popped the lid and dropped some into his hand.

“I hid some in the couch cushions.”

“Smart man,” Mateo grinned, taking Riley’s lips again. Cold lube spread over his cock and he inhaled sharply through his nose as Riley’s hand stroked him, pulling him closer to his hole. “Riley, it’s been a week; slow down! I don’t want to hurt you.”

Riley rolled them over again and straddled Mateo. “Butt plug all week.”

And with that, Riley lowered himself onto Mateo.

“Oh fuck!” Mateo grabbed for purchase on the conference room carpet.

His husband’s flushed face was beautiful as he lowered himself slowly, clenching his ass muscles tightly. Mateo held Riley’s hips as they started to move together. Riley’s fingers played with his nipples as he rode him slowly.

The man who had been a virgin when they met was a fucking expert in driving him crazy now. Mateo spread his legs out further and pulled Riley’s thighs in. He snapped his hips, jerking them upward faster and faster. Riley’s cock bobbed on his abs leaving a sticky trail of precome.

Riley’s eyes were closed, and a fine sheen of sweat beaded his temple. His mouth was partially open, moans of ecstasy escaping. Damn, the man was beautiful. Mateo gripped Riley’s cock and stroked upward, while Riley covered Mateo’s hand with his own.

“Gonna come without it…harder,” Riley rasped. “Faster!”

Mateo gripped Riley’s hips harder and slammed into him. His own orgasm coiled in his spine and he let loose with a loud cry; Riley came undone on top of him, jets of cream spurting up his abs and chest. His hair was matted against his temple with sweat and his breathing was labored. He collapsed on top of Mateo and sighed. Mateo chuckled, kissing his neck.

“Now that’s a welcome home.” Mateo held his husband close.

Lessons Learned (Assassin/Shifter #19) Excerpt:

“Hey, I found a cave,” Hayden said, motioning to Jude.

“Is anything in it?” Jude asked, walking toward him.

“Not that I can tell. Maybe some pine needles. I can’t smell any other scents, animal or otherwise.” Hayden looked around. “I’ll grab some firewood. Can you set it up?”

“Why do I feel like you’re making me the little woman in this scenario? Why can’t I get firewood?”

Hayden grinned. “Fine, you get the firewood and climb the hill again.”

Jude’s dick stirred in his pants at that grin. Damn, Hayden was sexy. “Stop looking at me like that.”

“Like what?” Hayden let his eyes roam over Jude slowly.

“Like I’m the last cracker on the plate.”

“I love crackers.” Hayden waggled his eyebrows.

Jude snorted. “You are so annoying.”

“I’m not boring, though.” Hayden pointed at Jude. “That’s what counts.”

Jude smiled despite himself. He walked over to Hayden and took both his hands. Hayden seemed surprised at the contact and Jude looked into his eyes.

“Thank you,” Jude said quietly.

“For what?” Hayden searched Jude’s eyes.

“You came for me in Germany, when my chute didn’t open. I treated you like shit and it was wrong. I’m sorry for all the things I said to you — ”

“Don’t.” Hayden put his finger on Jude’s lips. “I should be apologizing. I tortured you when all I really wanted to do was this.” Hayden pulled Jude into his chest and took his mouth. There was a soft gasp of surprise from Jude before his mouth opened. Hayden swept inside and groaned.

God, Jude tasted fantastic.

Hayden waited for a slap; what he got instead was a low growl and Jude wrapping his arms around him, deepening the kiss. Hayden’s hand rested on the back of Jude’s neck, his fingers playing in the soft, raven hair. Jude’s fingers crept under his jacket and shirt and met with his bare skin. Hayden moaned softly. His other arm wrapped around Jude, pulling him even closer. Their hardened erections bumped, and Jude gasped.

Hayden let go and broke the kiss. Stepping back, he waited for Jude to say something.

“Firewood,” Jude blurted.

They stared at each other for a few seconds before Jude turned and walked down the side of the ridge. Hayden ran a hand through his hair.

“Great, just great, Hayden. Dumbass. Why did you have to ruin it by kissing him?” Hayden smacked himself in the forehead. “You’ll be lucky if he ever comes back.”

Broken Bonds (Assassin/Shifter #20) Excerpt:

Tristan picked his jaw up off his desk. “Excuse me?”

“Which part did you not get?” Jackson sat back in the chair and crossed his legs.

“All of it?”

“Well, you and Scott decided I needed to be set up with Jonas. It just so happens we finally came clean with each other and now we want to show each other how much we care. That’s where you come in. Since you were so interested in my love life, I need to know how to be with Jonas in a more…sexual way. We’d like to explore all avenues. This is new to us and we want to make sure we do everything right. The last thing I want is to hurt Jonas.”

“So you want me to explain anal intercourse to you,” Tristan said slowly.

“Yes, that’s what I said.”

“Just like that? One date and you guys are rushing into sex? This is the media’s fault,” he muttered.

“I didn’t say that. We’re taking things slow, but we’d also like to be prepared when the time comes. I have every intention of making Jonas mine.”

Tristan finally smiled. It was about time his alpha found someone to love that way. Okay, so the topic of anal sex was the last thing he’d ever thought he’d be discussing with the man, but what the hell? If he helped the two of them become closer, he was all for it.

“Would you like a power point presentation?” Tristan winked.

Jackson arched a brow. “Are you going to draw a dick and an asshole?”

Tristan laughed loudly. “No. I will however walk you through from beginning to completion.”

“Who gets on top?”

“Well, that’s a good question. Since Scott and I are both alpha males, we switch. But we both like it, so it works out for us. It may be that Jonas doesn’t like anal and you do, or vice versa. Being the top doesn’t necessarily make you the man, and being the bottom doesn’t make you less of a man.”

“I don’t think who’s the man is an issue with us. We’re both strong-minded individuals.”

“So it worked.” Tristan grinned at his alpha.

“What did?”

“The set-up. Jude talked to Scott and me about it and we put our heads together. It was hard watching you two fight your mutual attraction. We could see you belonged together.”

“I’ve wanted Jonas since that day in the hospital. I just couldn’t push the issue with him. He needed to come to me.”

“And now he has. You look really happy.”

“I am. I haven’t felt like this in — I don’t know how long. And it isn’t just physical. I miss him already and I haven’t even been gone that long.”

“I get it.” Tristan nodded.

“I know you do. You almost lost Scott and I saw what it did to you. You let yourself bond to him, and it almost killed you as well.”

Tristan thought back to that time. A would-be killer injected Scott with rogue saliva and he had died, briefly. But it had been long enough. Tristan had wanted to go right with him. He couldn’t see his life without Scott and their son. He studied Jackson’s face.

“Are we talking marriage someday?”

Jackson sat forward in the chair with a grin. “You never know.”

Forbidden (Assassin/Shifter #21) Excerpt:

Jesse walked through the sand to the pier where Noah had indicated they would meet. As he got closer, he saw a blanket with candles on each corner. Noah stood in the sand wearing a smile and holding white roses. Jesse knew his face was heating; just seeing Noah made his pulse race.

“Hey.” He came to a stop right in front of Noah.

“Hi.” Noah leaned in and touched Jesse’s cheek before brushing their lips together softly. That electricity from their first kiss passed through him again and the candles flickered as a breeze floated around them. Noah pulled back slowly, searching Jesse’s eyes. “Was that okay?”

“More would be better,” Jesse grinned. He surveyed the blanket and candles. Champagne was on ice and a basket anchored one end of the blanket. “What’s all this?”

“I’m wooing you,” Noah smiled, indicating that Jesse should sit. Noah handed Jesse the flowers. “I hope you like white roses.”

“I actually do.” Jesse smiled at the roses. Noah seemed a bit nervous and Jesse laughed. “You know I’m going to put out. You have to know how much I want you.”

Noah cupped Jesse’s face in his hands. “I’ve never done this before. I want you to know how much I care.”

Jesse swallowed hard and met Noah’s eyes. “It’s really beautiful, Noah. Thank you so much.”

“Yeah? I did good?” Noah beamed.

Jesse opened the basket and grinned. “This is excellent. Where did you get the food?”

“I stopped by your favorite restaurant and got it to go.”

“They don’t do ‘to go’.” Jesse narrowed his eyes.

“They did for me.” Noah caressed Jesse’s cheek with the backs of his fingers. “You look so beautiful.”

Jesse ducked his head. “Thank you.”

Noah gently lifted Jesse’s face. “You look like your mother, don’t you?”

“What gave it away?”

“The eyes and hair. I know your father had the dark hair your brothers have.”

Jesse nodded. “Yes, and blue eyes. Justice and Jaxon got the combination, blue-green-gray and I got Mom’s green.”

“Well, I think you’re by far the pick of the litter. Heh.” Noah smiled and leaned in to kiss Jesse again. Their lips met and Noah almost groaned when Jesse parted his lips, allowing him in to taste. Jesse’s tongue moved tentatively at first, brushing Noah’s almost inquisitively, then became bolder, wrapping around Noah’s and dipping further into his mouth.

Hands went to his hair and Noah wrapped his arms around Jesse, pulling him in closer as they investigated each other’s mouths. This was their first real kiss and Noah intended to savor it. He lowered Jesse onto his back and threaded a hand through his thick blond hair. The kiss deepened, became more sensual and languid. Noah was hard as a rock and pulling air in through his nostrils at a rapid rate. They broke from the kiss and Noah righted himself. Jesse’s face was flushed with arousal. If anything, he looked even sexier than before.

“Wow,” Jesse breathed. “If I had any doubts before, now I don’t.”

“Me either,” Noah chuckled softly. “You’re an awesome kisser.”

“Our lips fit perfectly. You know there’s always that awkward part in the beginning where each of you is trying to figure the other’s moves? But not us.”

“No, not us.” Noah leaned in again and feathered a kiss across Jesse’s lips. He pulled back and smiled as he opened the basket. Jesse peered inside and removed one of the boxes. He opened it and gasped.

“This is salmon with garlic and rosemary.” He removed another box and opened it. “Garlic shrimp, calamari and roasted asparagus?”

Noah grinned. “Your favorites, right?”

Jesse put the box down on the blanket and leaned in to kiss Noah. “How did you know?”

“I am a special forces guy.”

“You asked Jaxon,” Jesse accused with a laugh.

“I asked Jaxon,” Noah admitted.

“Do you know what that means to me?” Jesse motioned to the blanket. “What all of this means? You took the time to ask my brother what I like, you arranged this little dinner on the beach — which by the way, the sun setting and the candles are perfect.”

Noah took Jesse’s hand. “I want you to know how much you mean to me. This isn’t just some fling for me, Jesse.” Noah eyed the boxes. “Although, to be practical we should eat before it gets cold.”

Jesse placed a kiss on Noah’s nose. “Let’s dig in.”

Dirty Ross (Assassin/Shifter #22) Excerpt:

“Hello, Mount Everest. I’ve got my pickaxe and rope.”

Ross couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped him. Cole was back in top form. He turned slowly and eyed the man from head to toe. Jesus, Cole looked good enough to bang. His inner wolf was screaming mine, mine, MINE!

Shit, he really needed to get laid, and soon.

Ross reeled in his lupine side and relaxed against the bar, smiling.

“Conditions are grave on the peak tonight, my friend.”

“I’ve got my arctic tent, too.” Cole raised a brow.

“What’ll ya have, Cole?” PJ asked.

“The man in front of me.” Cole licked his lips, giving Ross Collins the once-over.

“Now, Cole, I’ve told you I don’t do ménages.” PJ pointed a finger at him.

Ross cracked up. “I’ll have a beer, PJ.”

“That’s good, PJ, because I don’t share.” Cole leaned in to Ross’ face. “What’s mine, is mine.”

Oh hell. Ross leaned back a little. Their eyes locked and his dick popped up and took notice. Cole oozed sexuality and alpha male. Hot damn.

“Ross?”

He glanced over his shoulder. “Huh?”

“Your beer?” PJ grinned.

Ross took it but before he could pull his wallet out, Cole paid for it.

“This one’s on me, soldier.” Cole winked.

Ross held up the beer. “This in no way gives you a pass into my pants, Ryker.”

“Oh, I know.” Cole shivered. “I’m going to go stock up on cold-weather gear. Conditions are downright frosty tonight.”

Ross cracked a smile. “Isn’t there some other guy you’d like to bend over tonight?”

Cole leaned in until he was a hair’s breadth from Ross’ lips. “I don’t devote this much time and energy to something that comes easily, Ross. As I said, I’m getting ready for a long hike up a steep slope.” He stepped back and snagged his beer off the bar. “See you around, Collins.”

Sawyer Knight is living the dream as the lead singer of Souls of the Knight. He has everything that anyone would dream of...fame, wealth, music, women throwing themselves at him but yet he has nothing at all. Sawyer is the most sought after musician but he leads a life of always trying to please everyone like his mother, manager and especially the world. There is one person that he has forgotten to please and that is himself!

Jake Reed, his ex-bff is now back in Sawyers life as the lead of security. Jake has always wanted Sawyer and now he must convince him that he feels the same. The last time they saw each other was many years earlier in high school but Jake moved away with his parents but before he left, Jake kissed Sawyer good-bye which did not go well for the closeted Sawyer. Now that Jake is back will Sawyer let him into his heart and admit to the feelings that he actually has for his friend?

This is a nice story of m/m romance and coming to terms with your sexuality and stop living the life that others expect you to live but to be true to your own self. I did enjoy the characters of Jake and Sawyer and I felt a connection between these guys which is beautiful. I truly liked how Jake knew exactly what he wanted in life and what he wants is Sawyer as it has always been Sawyer and now he must convince Sawyer to take that scary step out of the closet for true love. Nicola really connected the sex scenes so well with these characters and their story. I felt for Sawyer and all you want him to do is to admit his true feelings and stop living a lie to make others happy. For everyone who wants to read a sweet gay romance book than Being Sawyer Knight by Nicola Haken is the one for you!

Unable to hold back any longer, I started undoing the knot in his robe, teasing it open with deft fingers and pushing the towelling fabric open so it draped behind him on the bed.
“So fucking perfect,” I moaned into his mouth, trailing my fingertips along the hard ridges of muscle cocooning his chest, tracing the outlines of what can only be described as exquisite pieces of artwork decorating his skin. Slowly, I worked my way down to his semi-erect cock, curling my fingers around it and smiling as it hardened instantly at my touch.
“No,” Sawyer interjected, grabbing my hand and pulling it up to his chest. “I…I want to touch you this time.”
Sighing in anticipation, I opened my robe and shuffled out of it, tossing it to the floor behind me. Sawyer did the same before bringing his naked body close to mine, pressing our chests together. Placing his hands on my torso, he closed his eyes and let out a heavy, almost pained sigh.
“What’s wrong?” I asked gently, wrapping my hand around his and encouraging him to smooth it across my chest.
“I, um, well I’ve never… touched a man this way before,” he admitted, his eyes sweeping the mattress in embarrassment.
“You’ve never experimented before?”
“There were a couple of guys in college,” he confessed, shrugging. “But… they touched me – never the other way round. To touch them would’ve felt too…” he trailed off, unable to find the word.
“Gay?”
“Something like that.”
“Are you saying no one has ever been here?” I asked, sneaking my hand between his pressed together thighs, encouraging him to part them before circling his puckered rim with the tip of my finger. He shook his head, refusing eye-contact with me. I grinned devilishly at him, and then buried my face in his neck. “I will be going there, baby. Not yet. Not tonight. But soon.”“Jake, I-I…” Ignoring his doubts once again, I slowly pushed my finger inside his puckered hole, causing his cock to start pulsating against the back of my throat. “Ah, fuck,” he groaned. He was close, and it made me feel like a fucking king. After letting his arse adjust to the intrusion, I slowly worked my finger in and out while continuing to suck him harder and faster. When I entered a second finger, he started falling apart. “Jake stop. Stop, I’m gonna, I’m gonna come…”
Of course I ignored him. I had fantasised about tasting every last drop of him too many times to give up now. So, pumping my two fingers in and out of his tight hole in line with the same fast rhythm of my mouth on his cock, I worked him until the end.
“Jesus, fuck!” he growled through clenched teeth, as hot spurts of the most delicious fucking nectar I’d ever tasted shot towards the back of my throat. Easing my fingers out of him, I stroked his balls one last time while I licked his cock completely clean. Climbing to my feet, I stared at Sawyer, watching as he panted with his eyes closed.
“You taste so fucking good,” I whispered against the throbbing vein in his neck, before kissing my way up to his ear.
Then it came…
The regret.
The doubt.
The fucking denial.
He pushed me off him with two hands pressed against my chest and when I looked into his eyes, bursting with what looked like shame, I knew I’d lost him. Again.
“You need to leave,” he said, his words swamped with guilt.
“Don’t do this Sawyer. You can’t tell me you didn’t want that. That you didn’t enjoy it? The taste in my mouth is proof that you fucking loved every damn second of what I just did to you.”
“Please,” he practically begged, shoving his semi-erect cock back into his pants. “Leave. Now.”
“I’ll leave,” I surrendered. “But I’m not leaving. I won’t give up on you, Sawyer. You mean too damn much to me and I know you feel the same. You’re just scared.”
“Fuck you!” he spat, anger making the vein in the centre of his forehead pop out. That vein has reared its ugly head for as long as I can remember. If he got into a fight back in high school, it would protrude so much I used to worry it might explode. “You’ve not seen me in fucking years, Jake. So whatever you think, you don’t know me at all! Now get the fuck out of here before I do something I regret.”
“Funny, I thought you just did that,” were the last words I said before straightening my tie and turning my back on him.
This is going to be harder than I thought. But not impossible. He was right about one thing. We have changed – we’ve grown up. Back then I was his follower, I’d have done anything he’d asked because I was so fucking in love with him. But now, I’m in charge. He’s still living so far back in the closet if he were to stumble he’d end up in fucking Narnia. He’s still afraid, scared to go after what he wants.
Good job I’m not. I’ve grown into a determined man – a confident man. I get what I want, always. And I will be getting Sawyer Knight.
