Favorite Toy cover Author Name: Louise Lyons Book Name: Favorite Toy Release Date: January 31, 2016

Blurb: Determined to stay single, Dean Simpson and his best friend Ryan have been playing a game, where each man chooses a potential hook-up for the other, usually someone nothing like their usual type. But with Ryan now off the market, Dean agrees to one final round of the game and allows his friend to choose his toy for the evening. Casper Mancuso is about as far from Dean’s type as he can get. Casper is pretty, flamboyant, and attention-seeking, but sexy with it. Dean decides one night can’t hurt, but when Casper makes it clear his aim is the same as Dean’s – to have one bit of fun and then move on – Dean finds himself surprisingly disappointed. With both men keen to avoid a relationship at all costs, it seems there can be no chance for anything between them. And yet the pair are drawn to each other and despite some hurtful comments and a very public argument, they just can’t stay away from each other. Eventually Dean is forced to admit that the very antithesis of what he usually likes is exactly what he’s been waiting for. Pages or Words: 35,600 words Categories: Contemporary, M/M Romance

Excerpt: My heart sank as one of the other trainers from the gym caught up to me. "Wait up, Dean. I'll go with you." I glanced at Mark and nodded. "Okay." "Where are you headed?" "Not sure yet. I just wanted some fresh air. Maybe Subway." It was the first thing that came into my head, although I really didn't fancy a sandwich. "I could go for that. Meatball marinara. Mmm." "I like the tuna." "I always have cheese and slather it in ranch dressing, and get a cookie." Casper's words made me smile and I wondered if he'd be having Subway today. Shit. "Are we eating in, or taking it back to work?" Mark pushed open the door and walked inside. "Um, maybe sit outside here?" I followed him to the counter, lining up behind a family ordering an early lunch. Most of the tables both inside and outside were empty and I stared up at the menu board as I waited, even though I knew I'd order tuna. Mark bought a foot-long meatball marinara with cheese and salad and I requested a six inch with cheese, salad, and ranch dressing. As we sat down at a table outside the window, I looked around and caught sight of Casper, just yards away and heading right for us. Automatically I ducked my head and unwrapped my sandwich, hoping he wouldn't see me. My heart thumped wildly and my dry mouth made me wish I'd ordered a drink. "Are you okay?" Mark raised his eyebrows. "Yeah." Casper entered Subway, apparently not having noticed me. I'd kick myself if I didn't speak to him. I might not get another chance. The fact that he'd happened to turn up at this exact moment, when he could have gone anywhere, or not even taken a break at this time, was too much of a coincidence for me to throw away. Hesitating, I debated going into the shop to speak to him, or waiting for him to come out where Mark might hear. While I thought about it, Casper got his sandwich and came out again and then I had no choice. I jumped up quickly, scraping my chair noisily on the pavement, and his eyes immediately met mine. He halted, half in and half out of the door, then shuffled forward to get out of the way of someone trying to enter. Mark looked up at me and frowned. "Dean?" "I'll be back in a minute." I moved away from the table toward Casper, aware that only about six feet separated us from Mark. "Can I speak to you for a minute?" "What about?" His eyes narrowed. "I wanted to say sorry. I─" "Don't bother. Like we both said, it was a hook up." His voice was much too clear and I glanced anxiously at Mark, who stared back at me with wide eyes. "Casper…shh. Can we just…?" "Don't shush me!" Clutching his wrapped sandwich fiercely in one hand, he planted the other hand on his hip and glared. "I don't know why you even bothered speaking to me! You slept with me for a bet, and we all know what your real type is. Don't think I didn't see you with that blond guy on Friday." "Fuck." Grabbing his arm, I tugged him a few steps along the street until he wrenched free. "Thanks a fucking bunch. You just outed me to one of my workmates." "Oh!" His scowl vanished and his cheeks flushed. "Shit. I didn't know. I'm sorry, Dean." "Forget it. Like you said, I shouldn't have bothered." Mortified, I turned away and went back to the table. Mark's expression said it all. I didn't need to hear anything he might have to say, but I listened anyway. Casper had already disappeared.

Meet the author: Louise Lyons comes from a family of writers. Her mother has a number of poems published in poetry anthologies, her aunt wrote poems for the church, and her grandmother sparked her inspiration with tales of fantasy. Louise first ventured into writing short stories at the grand old age of 8, mostly about little girls and ponies. She branched into romance in her teens, and MM romance a few years later, but none of her work saw the light of day until she discovered FanFiction in her late 20s. Posting stories based on some of her favorite movies, provoked a surprisingly positive response from readers. This gave Louise the confidence to submit some of her work to publishers, and made her take her writing “hobby” more seriously. Louise lives in the UK, about an hour north of London, with a mad Dobermann, and a collection of tropical fish and tarantulas. She works in the insurance industry by day, and spends every spare minute writing. She is a keen horse-rider, and loves to run long-distance. Some of her best writing inspiration comes to her, when her feet are pounding the open road. She often races into the house afterward, and grabs pen and paper to make notes. Louise has always been a bit of a tomboy, and one of her other great loves is cars and motorcycles. Her car and bike are her pride and joy, and she loves to exhibit the car at shows, and take off for long days out on the bike, with no one for company but herself.

Full Domain-Nice Guy Series-Book 3 by Kindle Alexander!!!

Deputy US Marshall Kreed is a former Seal but now with the US Marshall's Service. He has spent most of his life avoiding relationships by blaming his high intensity career. He has always lived by the rule never mix business with pleasure but that was until he meets the guy he has been partnered with.

Aaron the hot computer geek is newly employed with a security agency. He has never been in the way of danger but that all changes when he gets assigned to a dangerous investigation. He is of course partnered with a hot Deputy Marshall and his neatly organized life is about to be thrown a huge curveball by the name of Kreed. These guys have no idea what is facing them as the dangerous investigation is not the only thing that is about to explode. Will they be able to leave their baggage in the past and find true love with each other?

This is the third and final instalment of the Nice Guy series and what a great last book to end the series on. I was thrilled that Kindle brought all the main characters of the series to the final book. It was great to get an update and closure on Mitch, Cody, Colt and Jace but the main story is about Kreed and Aaron. So thank you Kindle Alexander for bringing our boys back together for one last time.

Do the lines ever get blurred between Kreed and Aaron. I love the chase me game that these boys are playing, and the fact that Kreed never plays fair was some of my favorite scenes. All he wants is to get into Aaron's pants and now will Aaron open his heart and pants to Kreed? Aaron is holding a lot of secrets but does even realize the amount or the seriousness of the secrets he's holding?

This was a brilliant final novel and Kindle did an amazing job and I loved every page of it and I was truly sad when it was all over as I became really connected to each character in the Nice Guy series especially Colt and Jace. I was impressed with the twists and a particular one will have you gasping as it did for me. Sorry but no spoilers as I'm really against them but trust me you will love this story and you will fall for Kreed and Aaron and the rest of the boys as I did. I couldn't recommend this novel Full Domain by Kindle Alexander enough to everyone so make sure you get your copy now.

“You’re so fucking sexy with those fuck-me-I’m-so-smart glasses on and that intense look on your face.”Aaron glanced up and narrowed his eyes as he shoved the glasses off to the top of his head and stretched out his back. There was just something about the big, gorgeous deputy marshal growling those words at him that made his dick want to come out and play. A tired yawn from hours of sitting behind his laptop slipped free as he rubbed his eyes.“And those noises you make are a complete turn-on.”“I have a feeling it doesn’t take much to turn you on. A slight gust of wind would probably have you at full mast,” Aaron teased, lowering the lid to his laptop.
Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It's always a surprise to see what's coming next!
I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women's hair!
Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life - I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations - regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.
I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.

To distance himself from Trevor, even after discovering they weren’t really related, he left for college at sixteen. Every time he goes home, a quick glance at Trevor brings it all flooding back.

When commitment-phobe Trevor announces he’s got a serious boyfriend during one of Tristan’s rare visits home, the adoring kid brother will be forced to run once again. This time, however, Trevor doesn’t stand back and watch him leave.

Instead, he follows him, making it nigh on impossible for Tristan to keep his love a secret for much longer.

First I have to say this is the second book of Alina's I have reviewed - and my, this is so different to the first one, I am in awe of the different writing styles.

This book is the story of Tristan, who in his words has deviant feelings for his brother Trevor.  He has loved Trevor for years, and when living at home, had heard him with his latest conquests in the bedroom, and then cried himself to sleep.

To try and help himself, he then moved away to college, and then also to work.  He decided avoiding his brother, (which also meant his parents too), was the only way to get through life. He never had any boyfriends as nobody compared to his brother.  Tristan and Trevor had been told that they weren't actually brothers, but Trevor didn't seem to have the same feelings inside as Tristan.

Tristan also kept a blog, which he named " Br0th3rly", in which he put all his inner feelings.  He was approached by someone who wanted to put his blog into a book, but Tristan was wary, so at first he totally denied that he wrote the blog.  I loved reading the emails between Tristan and the Publisher, these were so funny, especially the titles of the emails.

With his mothers birthday approaching, Tristan knows he must go back home and visit, but doesn't know how he will cope with seeing Trevor.   Things don't start well, as his car breaks down near his hometown.  He called his dad, but much to his dismay, it is Trevor that arrives to take him home.

Tristan just doesn't know what to do, and is growing increasingly depressed about his feelings.  On the day of his mothers birthday, it all comes to a head, when Trevor shows up with his boyfriend. Tristan can't cope with seeing Trevor with someone else, so he runs from the room, but his mother follows him, and although he feels ashamed he tells her everything, and with her blessing he leaves to go home, using her car.

Tristan takes vacation time from work to try and get over Trevor once and for all, but a knock on the door one day turns out to be Trevor. They talk and Trevor seems intent of finding out what is wrong with his "brother", and it ends up with Tristan admitting the truth to Trevor, and then waiting for the door slam as he left..... but this never happened.

What does Trevor say to Tristan in light of his revelation?  Does he stick around or eventually leave?  Can Tristan ever feel complete? Does his blog become a book??  Read and find out!!

We ate without saying a word, too busy devouring the food to think about any exchange between licking our fingers and foodgasmic moans. The burger was delicious, and I polished off my plate of fries in no time, washing it down with the beer. The moment we were done, the waitress, Margie, whom I’d known as a fixture here since I was in diapers, placed two more beers on the table and took our plates away. Without us needing to order, she returned with pie: pecan for Trev and strawberry for me.

“Enjoy, boys,” she said with a warm smile. That closeness tugged at my heart. I’d missed this place every day since running off to college. I missed how warm the interactions were, how being a regular meant coming to the same place for a decade at least, how everyone knew us, and how it was all safe and familiar. I was better off staying away. If I hadn’t left, I would have either fessed up everything or killed myself. Somehow, I knew I would have been broken either way.

When we were done eating, the pie plates polished off and new beers brought to us by Margie, it was time for conversation. Our outings were a bit of a ritual by now. We’d eat together, be awkward together for a bit, then chat about nothing in particular as Trev got progressively more inebriated. I’d drink far less, not because I couldn’t handle more, but because I was always terrified I’d say or do the wrong thing. Either way, by the time we were done, Trevor would be drunk out of his mind and I wouldn’t be very far behind him, yet sober enough not to blurt anything incriminating. We’d stumble home, moving through the town streets following an awkward, winding trajectory.

We were stuck in the awkward phase for now, neither of us finding a way to break the ice. Trevor was usually the one to get things started, but he seemed to be at a loss tonight. Maybe it was my fault; I had been particularly harsh this time around. I knew for a fact I’d hurt his feelings a few times since coming home, and I hadn’t been there for long. I made a vow not to do that anymore, no matter how much I wanted to snap at him and the world for making such stupid rules.

Hello Dawn, thank you for having me over for an interview! It’s always a pleasure to chat with you, online or off.

Which do you prefer - writing your own books or promoting books on your blog Eyes On Books?
I don’t have a favorite, they are different aspects of my life. I am passionate about my writing and about the books I enjoy. If I had to choose, only do one of the two, I’d go with writing, but I wouldn’t be a very happy camper. The idea of introducing readers to new, great reads thrills me. Those could be mine, or they could be written by other people.

Do you still get nervous when you are due to release a book?
Oh, I get super nervous! More so when someone has my book and is about to start reading it. Even with longtime fans that seem to love everything I write, I still am afraid they might hate my next story.
I also tend to color outside the lines quite a bit :D I did write a first gay novella with an open ending, I never followed the strict rules of male-female romance in my Bad Blood trilogy, and with Br0th3rly… well, the format is quite different and the topic of Internet fame is one that fascinates me. So, yes, my own choice to test readers’ limits makes me a lot more nervous than if I’d gone with books that stick to all the rules.

Is it harder to write your books in English as this is not your first language?
Not really, no. I have been studying English since I was eight. I was in intensive English classes (think something similar to Advance Placement or A Levels) since I turned ten and most of my jobs involved heavy use of the English language. In certain ways, I find it harder to write in Romanian now :D As far as novels go, I started writing them in English about 7-8 years ago and I don’t think I’ve written any fiction in Romanian in ages.

Favourite shifter book you have read and why
I suck at picking favorites, sorry! But I can tell you the most recent shifter story I’ve read that completely mesmerized me (well, sort of, it’s a variant of a merman that shifts to a human form), is Alex Gabriel’s Still Waters. It’s a short free read which I highly recommend.

What drew you to write M/M books?
I only read my first M/M book about three years ago. Before that, I’d read a lot of yaoi (m/m) manga and watched some anime. It drew me in because I found it interesting, thrilling, and somehow easier to write male leads. I have always been a bit of a tomboy and have my own views on how women should be. I still love writing MF and every combination in between (I have a couple of MMF stories down the pipeline).

If you could live anywhere in the world, where and why? Or would you rather stay where you are?
If I could do whatever I wanted, I’d move every six months. Right now though, as a permanent place, I have my eyes set on the UK. I always love it when I travel there and I find it harder and harder to go back home after a visit.

Where do you get most of your inspirational ideas from?
I get my inspiration everywhere: books, movies, TV series, comic books, random photos, songs that happen to be playing at the right time. Something or someone just ends up triggering a story. It starts with an initial spark – a setting, or a character, or a short dialogue between characters, and then it keeps growing till I have a full story in my head.

What do you do when you hit a wall with writing a particular story?
That almost never happens. Time is my most pressing issue. I lack the time to write all the stories, and sometimes the characters fight for my attention. I rarely can schedule the stories logically, I have to give up and write the story of whoever is louder. If none of them are particularly chatty, I just switch in between ongoing projects and that usually helps get the ball rolling.

What do you do to relax.....oh I know, you write lol
Hahaha, no! I don’t do that to relax, although it is sometimes relaxing. I love going out with friends—more so when there is coffee involved, seeing a movie, chatting, doing a little shopping. I also knit, which relaxes me, play games when I can find the time, and of course, I read. My favorite pastime though is and always will be traveling.

Are you ever out and about,  and get an idea for a character or a story, but have no way of making notes - what do you do?
The note taking is rare, but I always have a small notebook with me, or my phone. Usually, the story starts and takes form in my head. I mull over it, I occasionally jot down some quick notes, but they are very general. I sometimes feel like I am directing a movie in my head, with different parts of the story coming to life. When it’s all running smoothly, I start typing it out.

Who gave you your first break on your publishing your first book?
My first book was actually self-published. The Edge of Hope, the first book in the Bad Blood trilogy, originally was contracted by a small publisher. I chose to pull it out and do it all alone and I know that was the right choice for my vampire story.

My first published work was the short story variant of Craving Stains (now published as an extended novella) which was included in Wayward Ink Publishing’s Stranded anthology. WIP completely changed my mind about working with publishers, hence all the other shorts, novellas, and novels I submitted to them.

If you won the lottery (not sure if you have lottery like here), what would be your first purchase and why?
Hmmm, round the world ticket, surely! Then some cool gadgets, then shoes and clothes. The bulk of the money though? I have this dream about building a huge house and filling it up with kids people abandon or shun – LGBT kids, older kids that no one would adopt, that sort of thing. It would involve a lot of dogs too :D

A_Kind_of_Truth_FINAL_2 Author Name: Lane Hayes Book Name: A Kind of Truth Series: A Kind Of Book: One Release Date: January 8, 2016 Blurb: Rand O’Malley dreams of superstardom. He hopes to one day sing the blues like a rock god. Moving to New York City and hiring a new manager are steps to make his dreams a reality. But nothing moves as fast as Rand would like, and everyone has opinions, which include he keep certain pieces of himself quiet if he plans on making it in the Big Apple. Like his bisexuality. Will Sanders is a gifted musician who dazzles Rand with his ability to coax gorgeous notes from an electric guitar one moment and play the piano like a professional the next. He’s a geek, but Rand isn’t concerned about Will’s pressed exterior clashing with his tattoos. His focus is music. Yet there’s something about Will that makes Rand think there’s much more to the quiet college student than he lets on. As Rand’s dreams begin to materialize, he’s forced to reconsider his priorities and find his own kind of truth. One that might include Will. Oh dear, another character that I disliked at the beginning.  To me Rand comes across as more or less a spoilt child - one that always wants things done his way, and oh, did I want to reach in and hit him for being selfish.  What Rand wants is to be successful with his band, and it is like he will walk over people to get what he wants.

Will was his total opposite, he was a geek, but he was a brilliant musician, it didn't matter which instrument he played, he could make wonderul music.  What Will doesn't like is being in the limelight, it is like he hides himself away, he doesn't want people to know his real talents - and he definitely doesn't want to be in a band. He is also only just stepping out of the closet and not sure if he wants to be all the way out, or would rather step back into it.

Rand decides to have lessons to improve his guitar playing, and he is given Wills details.  They start having lessons, and Rand finds that he is incredibly attracted to Will, but he is unsure why, as Will is the complete opposite of who is usually attracted to. Will also has a hidden side, which Rand craves for even more.

They start a relationship of sorts, but again Rand seems to do things his way, and doesn't see that he is hurting Will some of the time with his actions.  Rand seems to find it hard that Will doesn't want the same things in life that he does, and pushes Will to his limit some of the time.  I don't think Rand actually listened properly to what Will was saying to him, or rather he chose to ignore it - as it didn't suit him to take in what was being said.

However, somebody decides to cause big problems for both Will and Rand, but Will is the worst affected, Rand seems to start to come to his senses and realises that what he has or rather had with Will was something special. Has he realised too late what he had or is it even possible for him to convince Will to stay with him and let their relationship blossom?

Although it took me a little while to get into the book, after a couple of chapters I was hooked.  You realise why Will is so shy, and little by little he reveals titbits of information from his past, and you soon learn why he is so far in the closet.  You also see Rand grow up too, when he finally gets his head on straight, especially when he finally sees there is more to his life than the music, and he could just have lost the best thing that happened to him.
Excerpt for A Kind of Truth by Lane Hayes: Watching Will’s face turn pink then red was extraordinarily entertaining. I nudged his elbow playfully and tried to gain control of my smile before it threatened to take over my entire face. When I couldn’t take the building pressure of emotion, I winked at the girls then leaned in and kissed his lips, loving that I took him by surprise. The elevator doors slid open a moment later. Will stepped into the empty corridor and gave me a wide-eyed incredulous stare. “I cannot believe you just did that.” “What? Kissed you on an elevator? It’s not like farting, ya know.” Will huffed a sigh that clearly said he thought I was hopeless before turning to walk down the hall. “I was talking about the underwear comment but yeah, the kissing part was awkward too. No one wants to watch two people going at in a confined space. And besides, we’re supposed to be playing this strictly straight while we’re in public.” He stopped to unlock the door to the classroom then pushed it open, pausing to give me a perturbed look before he moved inside ahead of me. I barked a quick laugh as I set my guitar on the back table and shrugged my jacket off. “First of all, that was hardly going at it. It was a peck. You were the one advertising I left my clothes at your place in front of a couple cute girls. And who said anything about playing straight?” “Were we not in the same room two mornings ago talking about this?” “We were. In fact, we were naked in your bed. Decidedly un-straight. But the way I remember it, I was one who was holding back the gay while you were the one going for it. But let’s go back to the elevator. I think you purposefully blew my cover back there with those girls. Were you jealous?” He snorted and rolled his eyes. “You’re unbelievable.” “Thanks.” “It wasn’t a compliment,” he quipped as he made his way to the piano. “Well, the next time you announce you’re holding my underwear hostage in a crowd, all bets are off, baby.” I gave him a lascivious once-over and waggled my eyebrows before tightening the strap on my guitar. Will chuckled. “I’ll keep that in mind. But I’m pretty sure your tighty-whities never came up. My comment was perfectly innocent. There’s a big difference between hats and underwear.” “I’m on to you, Will. You wanted those girls to know something’s going on between us. They’re probably talking right now. Bet they’re wondering if we’re in here having sex. Hell, they could be outside that door listening. Maybe we should give ‘em something to talk about.” I made a show of unbuckling my belt and the top button on my 501s. “Is there a camera in this room?” “Keep your pants on. I’ve got two months left till graduation and I’d prefer not to get kicked out of school, please,” Will said primly, smacking my hand away. “You won’t get kicked out. I doubt we’d be the first anyway.” I rezipped my jeans and started to back up, but at the last second, I reached out to cup his chin between my thumb and forefinger. I traced his jaw and let my thumb roam higher to caress his cheekbone just under his glasses. His eyes fluttered shut. I loved the contrast of his fair skin and darker lashes and eyebrows. He was so damn pretty. And those lips. They were sensuous. That was the word. I leaned in and brushed my nose against his. I could feel his breath on my lips. The urge to plunge my tongue inside and take what I was very sure we both wanted was strong, but I waited for his permission. When he didn’t respond, I let my hand fall to my side and started to pull back. Maybe he really was serious about propriety in the classroom. I wasn’t used to curbing my impulses to suit someone’s else’s sensibilities. I’d spent twenty-five years doing only what I wanted. Screw anyone else. Now here I was, attempting to hide my gay side publicly while trying to follow Will’s lead in private. It felt strange, I thought, just as Will launched himself at me. I grunted in surprise when he wrapped his arms around my neck and crashed his mouth over mine. He softened the connection and tilted his head as he raked his fingers through my hair. I responded but let him control the tempo. Until he tentatively licked my lips. Fuck, he tasted sweeter than I remembered. Like peppermint candy or hot chocolate. I pulled him flush against my chest and slid my tongue alongside his, twisting and colliding in a passionate fusion. When he gasped for air I pulled back only to have him grind his hips into mine and lick my jaw. He swayed into me with a moan and lost his footing. “Steady there.” Will was sexier than he knew, which spelled potential danger for me. It was better to let the music take over for now. The department’s criminal profiler has left and a new guy is taking his place. At first, Cade is skeptical of Dr. Michael Di Santo. Di Santo seems so absent-minded and too neurotic to be effective. But he is brilliant and hot and Cade finds himself falling hard and fast, both in lust and in love. Together, they begin to unravel Michael's emotional knots even as they close in on a killer, another brilliant, wily person whose sights are now set on Michael.

I have to admit, I wasn't sure I was going to like Jack Cade at first, but there is more to him than meets the eye.  The same also applies to Michael Di Santo, who seems like bit like an airhead!! Nothing could be further from the truth.

Together, they begin investigating into the case, and as they do, Cade realises that there is more to Michael than he first thought.  As the two spend more time together, they become closer, but there are things in Michaels past that keep coming back to haunt him.

Bit by bit Michael is revealing more of his past, and even he is shocked as to how much and how easy he finds it to talk to Cade, he realises he has never spoken so candidly to anybody else.  However, it seems that Michaels last love seems to still have a hold over him, even though Michael doesn't notice.

As they close in on the killer, Michael is put into danger and it is now that Cade realises how deep his feelings are for Michael, but will he have the chance to tell Michael exactly how he feels?

Michael too, has some deep thinking to do, as he seems to keep going back in time to his last love, and even though he is with Cade, when he has nightmares, he calls out for his last love - Toshi.

Is Michael still in love with Toshi??  Does Cade manage to push through his doubts and see if there is any chance of a relationship with Michael?

I did enjoy this book, as you had the detective work within the story, so it wasn't just about the budding relationship.  I loved exploring all the different scenarios as they worked through the case.

Excerpt

Studying the front area of the building, he wandered down the flower box lined stone walk of the apartment building and turned to face it. Crime lab workers and patrol officers moved around on either side of the yellow crime tape, keeping the building cordoned off until Jack gave instructions to clear out and retain only the apartment as the crime scene.

Jack stepped aside to let someone go past him and bump! Smacked into something.

He turned. “Excuse me, I’m—” Or rather, he’d bumped into someone.

The man was adjusting the glasses Jack had apparently knocked off his face. “You’re in a crime scene,” Jack said.

“Yes, I know.” Almond-shaped brown eyes seemed to study Jack from behind round lenses. He looked Asian, yet sort of…not Asian at the same time. His dark brown hair was styled in a conventional way, parted on the side in short layers. The crumpled navy suit he wore, complete with diagonally striped tie against a light blue dress shirt made him appear as if his mother had dressed him for a spelling bee at school even though he was probably about Jack’s age. Forty.

Jack blinked. He was taking absolutely too long to find out who this man was. Then light dawned. Of course. “Dr. Di Santo?”

“Detective Cade?”

“That’s me. Hope I didn’t break your glasses.”

Di Santo touched them on each side as if to check. “No, they’re fine.”

Jack watched the man’s hands as he gingerly adjusted the frames. Nicely shaped fingers. Clean, trimmed nails. “Sorry I bumped you that way.”

“No problem.” Di Santo cleared his throat. “I hope I can be of help to you.”

Jack started. “Me too. This way.” He led Di Santo into the building and up to the apartment. “As I told you on the phone, I’m not so sure this was a suicide.” He let Di Santo precede him into the apartment and followed him, observing the way the slim man took in the surroundings on his way over to the victim.

Jack explained his suspicions and then let the man work. For what seemed a long time, Di Santo wandered about then stood in the center of the room, his gaze on the coffee table. His hand disappeared into his jacket pocket and pulled something out, which he popped into his mouth.

Jack watched him. Watched the man’s cheek bulge on the side while he sucked on whatever it was in his mouth, his gaze intent on the coffee table and victim. He then approached Jack and Jack heard the click of hard candy against the guy’s teeth. Finally Di Santo turned and knelt by the body.

Jack saw the professor’s eyes widen, especially on the hilt of the knife. “What is it?”

Di Santo seemed to ignore his question, staring at the knife. “Were his hands on the hilt of the knife or over his face when you found him?”

“Over his face.”

“Okay. Please open the robe so I can see the wound,” he said to Murphy.

Murphy did as he asked and Di Santo gazed for what seemed five straight minutes at the vicious cross-shaped cut in the centre of the wound.

“Jumonji giri,” he said, nearly in a whisper.

“What?” Jack looked between the knife wound and Di Santo.

The hot-yet-nerdy man was still staring down, seeming to ignore him. The candy in his mouth clicked several times against his teeth.

“Dr. Di Santo?”

Michael Di Santo looked up, his eyes seemingly far away yet intent at the same time. “What kind of movies did this man watch?”

Haven's Creed by Parker Williams 5 Star Review

An act of violence destroys his family and ends the life he knows. To escape his haunted past, he joins the military, where, as a sniper, he is trained to kill with precision and detachment. When a covert organization offers him a new purpose, he becomes Haven, an operative devoted to protecting the innocent when he can and avenging them when he cannot.

After ten years of battling the evil in the world, the life no longer holds the attraction or meaning it once had, and he’s ready to walk away. Then he meets Samuel, a young man forced from the age of twelve to work as a sex slave. If ever a man had a need for Haven, it is this one.

Yet nothing about this growing relationship is one-sided. Sammy gives Haven a stability he’s never known, and Haven becomes the rock upon which Sammy knows he can depend.

When Sammy reveals something about the enemy Haven has been hunting for months, Sammy fears it will destroy what they’ve built and he’ll lose his home in Haven’s heart.
Picture
First thing I would have to say, is that I was warned this was a dark read, due to the nature of the story.  However, I have to say I was fine with it, it was all necessary for the story, but if you hate violence, abuse etc., then this will not be the book for you.

Enter centre stage Michael - who we later know as Haven.  He was specially recruited to work for a Government Agency that doesn't exist, basically working as an assassin ridding the world of people who continually managed to evade prosecution, for any of their crimes.
He has a house, and it is just a house, where he has Kelly to oversee everything. It is literally just a place to stay in between assignments. He doesn't seem to have any feelings, he doesn't really ever notice Kelly at the house.

Haven is sent on an assignment, which is one of the many he is due to undertake, trying to get to the top person in a huge crime syndicate. Although he thinks he has everything arranged, and the game is being played his way, he couldn't be more wrong, but manages to extricate himself from the situation, but not alone....... enter Samuel.

Samuel has been used as a rent boy for 12 years, since he was 11 years old, and when Haven finds him, he is locked away in a dark cold, filthy room.  Haven releases him, with the intention of handing Samuel over the the clean-up team that arrives as he completes his tasks, to find somewhere safe for him. But Samuel has other ideas, he clings to Haven and refuses to let go.  Haven agrees to take him home, thinking things will change there.

Haven was so wrong in his thinking, and somehow Samuel (who he alone is allowed to call Sammy), gets under his skin.  It is a totally weird combination, but somehow they fit together so well.  There is a hidden side of Haven coming out as he cares for Sammy, one that has been buried for many years. Sammy too is changing, and shows that he may be smaller than Haven, but he is literally like a little spitfire.  He is not frightened by Haven, and will stand his ground on any disagreements.

When Haven comes back from an assignment a total mess, surprisingly it is Sammy not Kelly who looks after him. Sammy becomes a dominant in the bedroom, ordering Haven on what he has to do - and Haven accepts it, as it seems to be what he needs - not to think of what he has done, but to be totally dominated. Sammy totally grounds him, giving him the time to recover.

Sammy and Haven grow closer - although Haven is not ready to admit he loves Sammy.  It takes Haven time to realise that just having Sammy near him, a little touch here and there complete him, and the same applies to Sammy too.  He seems to bloom under Havens attention.  Things seem to be going well for the two, until it comes down to the final person in the syndicate, and Sammy and Haven disagree about this.....mostly down the last secret that Sammy has. When things get really bad, Sammy disappears and Haven is distraught, but decides to start the assignment early, even though in his heart he knows this is wrong, he is angry and upset and this can only mean his attention to detail is off, and the inevitable happens, and Haven is caught.

Can Haven manage to escape and complete the last assignment? Does Sammy appear back in Havens life?  Do they stand any chance of being together, especially with the work Haven does?

I absolutely loved this book, and I will admit I have read it twice already, and I enjoyed it as much the second time as the first.  I think it is the dynamics between Haven and Sammy, of how Haven changed once he was with Sammy, but also how Sammy changed once he was with Haven.  When you first meet Haven, he doesn't seem to have any feelings, as he has buried them so deep.  Although he has Kelly looking after his house, and him, he doesn't really see him as a person, until Sammy.   Although being a dark book, it was the relationship between Haven and Sammy that had me not wanting to put the book down, I just had to keep reading and see if they were able to actually build on what they had.

Excerpt

All of a sudden, I was yanked to the side, and before I realized what was going on, my hands were locked around his waist and my face buried in the crook of his neck while he hugged me fiercely.

Oh, shit! I held my breath for as long as I could, but then my lungs won the fight. His scent hit me, causing me to whimper and shudder, and making my cock painfully hard.

“I know you always wanted to get out of here and you’re trying so hard to stay away. Showing you still love us won’t trap you in this town, little brother.”

Trevor had it all so wrong. He thought it was the town and life here that I was running away from. It wasn’t though; I was running from my twisted, perverted self. The more I stuck around him, the more I justified my urges. We weren’t related, not really. There was no blood connection. I was not a monster for loving him. It was all bullshit though. Not only had we been raised as siblings, Trevor had never shown any such interest in me. So the farther away I was, the less inclined I became to break down and tell him what I wanted. What I’d always wanted. What would be the point of that? I knew he’d reject me. I’d be selfish and force him to completely lose his little brother.

Br0th3rly 3D Cover

Despite the steady coaching, my body refused to comply, and I clung to him, breathing hard and almost bursting into tears. He pushed me back and searched my face. The deep frown that twisted his took nothing away from his beauty.

“Tristan, what’s wrong with you? You’re a mess, bro.”

The raw concern in his voice stabbed me like a burning knife, twisting my gut and making my heart bleed. “Sorry, Trev. Forget it, please. I’ve been under a truckload of pressure at work.”

He nodded and pulled me back into the hug, and shame exploded inside of me, promptly followed by a lust so savage I thought my starved cock would burst through my underwear and jeans.

A loud honk finally broke the spell, making me jump so hard I hit my head on the car roof. Trevor laughed and shook his head, probably thinking I was as clumsy and goofy as ever. What he didn’t know was that those traits were part of me only when I was around him. My sick obsession with him took too much energy and brain power, not to mention blood flow. There wasn’t much left to take in my surroundings and coordinate my movements.

When he opened his eyes, Cade’s face was only inches from his.
Cade’s hand went to Michael’s cheek again and cupped it. His eyelids were lower now, a flush in his cheeks. “You’re not…involved, are you?” His voice was a husky whisper.
Involved. He hadn’t been involved since he and Toshi had broken up. Occasional sex with possibility for more, but never involved. Each time it seemed something might develop, the person learned about his attachment to Toshi and broke things off. It was upsetting but Michael couldn’t help himself. “No.”
A new smile flickered over the other man’s sensual mouth. “Good. Because I’m not a homewrecker.”
Before Michael could answer, Cade leaned in and kissed him. His lips were soft and warm. His large hands cradled Michael’s face. Michael sighed and parted his lips. Cade slipped his tongue between them, tasting Michael as if he were a rare delicacy.

Bradley Parker has waited twenty years for Mr. Right, and on Valentine’s Day, he finally finds him. It’s love at first sight, and Brad even loses his virginity to the man of his dreams. But when he wakes up the next morning unable to remember anything—even what the man looked like—his best friend, Leslie, is convinced he imagined the whole thing. Brad knows he didn’t make up the best night of his life, but he has no idea of the danger he’s putting himself in as he struggles to recall the details of his perfect man. His search may lead him to parts of New York City he never dreamed existed and a war being waged in the shadows.

Well, this is first book I have read by this author, and I must say I enjoyed this book.

We meet Brad, who is totally on cloud 9, after a Valentines night of his dreams - but were they just dreams?  The following morning, he can only remember he has a wonderful night with his first time lover, but nothing other than that. No idea of a name, what he looks like or even where they went.

He calls his best friend Leslie over, and she is convinced that he dreamed the whole thing, but Brad is sure things happened to him, if only he could remember what the guy looked like, and even what his name was.

As he started out the evening with another friend Ian, they decide to visit him to see if he knew who Brad's mystery man was.... but he says that he has no idea of who he left with.  However, when Brad disappears while out with Leslie and her boyfriend Patrick, they return to speak to Ian, and then secrets come tumbling out, and it soon becomes apparent that Brad's life may actually be in danger.

Where is Brad? Was he kidnapped or did he find his Valentine lover? What does Ian know?

Sid Love grew up in one of busiest cities in the world, Mumbai, listening to the excerpts of Indian epics from his father every night. While it served as an inspiration back in time, he has always had an ambitious mind. In 2007, when he had just turned sixteen, he decided that he would make his lifelong dream come true—to become a well-known, respected author some day.
Ask him and he would refuse to accept that he is obsessed with books. Or movies. Or TV shows. Addicted may even be the right word. He is a die-hard fan of Jane Austen’s romance novels and loves to reread them time and again.
