Private investigator Gethin is depressed that the bulk of his work involves following unfaithful partners. He knows just what it’s like to be cheated on. Even worse, his relationship with his ex is complicated and Gethin can see no way of breaking free of a guy who so desperately needs him.
A chance encounter brings Kell and Gethin together, entwining their lives with secrets and danger. They both have reasons to keep things casual. But there are consequences to zipless fucks. Not only do they have to survive people trying to kill them, they need to trust each other and keep their wits about them, while ensuring their hearts stay intact.
We first meet Kell, who is working undercover, but is now hating every minute of it but can see no way out of it all. You can sense his intense hatred for his violent boss, but you can also see that all he wants is someone to actually love him.
Then we meet Gethin, who works as a private investigator and who has been pulled into something he also wants no part of, but doesn't know how to extricate himself, and then he is also looking for a missing person. To top the lot he also has a "boyfriend" he goes to visit - but things are not as they seem.
Kell and Gethin actually meet when Gethin is asked by his friend Angel if he would be a waiter at a function his party planning company is hosting.. They don't actually do well the first time they meet, but things happen and they meet again.
Little does either man know, that the cases that they are working on maybe linked, but obviously neither man knows who they can trust, so to begin with they say nothing. They still meet each other, just for sex, as neither can see themselves having a relationship, or even capable of having a normal relationship.
When everything comes apart, both Gethin and Kell are in danger and now need to rely on each other to keep themselves alive.... but can they trust the other? Are they being totally honest with each other? They seem to grow closer, but Gethin has one huge secret he must tell Kell, but will he actually tell Kell the truth or leave him in the dark??
Once I was into this story, I just could not stop reading, but omg did the author throw a couple of curve-balls that I was not expecting along the way. There is also a really emotional scene in this book, on which I can only applaud the author with the sensitive way she wrote this part of the book, which involved Gethin and Jonnie. I was in pieces reading it, but again just couldn't put the book down.
After dragging up two rotten, ungrateful children and frustrating her sexy, devoted, wonderful husband (who can now stop twisting her arm) she finally has time to conduct an affair with an electrifying plugged-in male, her laptop.
Her books feature quirky heroines and bad boys, and she hopes they are as much fun to read as they are to write.
