Oh boy, will you fall in love with Sebastian from the first page, and I think a few people will be able to identify with his reasoning on some things too. He is alone, with co-workers only, but not real friends – except for Zoe, who was also a submissive at the Catharsis club. It seems like Sebastian has always been a loner, who has never really had friends, and this impacts on his life in a big way.
Gideon is quite the complex man. He now owns his own BDSM club Catharsis, and puts all his energy into this, but his previous life always has some way of interfering. To me, Gideon is sort of a unknown person when you first meet him, but as you read through the story you get more of an insight of what Gideon is as a person, and he will quite often surprise you!
It was not all sunshine and roses when Gideon and Sebastian first meet, and Gideon has some work to do to try and break through the barriers that Sebastian has erected, to protect himself. Sebastian doesn’t make things easy for Gideon, but the pull between the two is undeniable as you read the story. It is all that Sebastian has longed for, being the submissive for a strong dominant, but if the truth be known, he is holding back something important.
Gideon cannot believe that he has managed to find a submissive that seems to accept him as he is, rough edges too. The more time they spend together, the more that Gideon begins to feel for his submissive, but he does feel that Sebastian is keeping something from him, but then again he is keeping things from Sebastian.
Both secrets finally come out, with dire consequences, so now it is up to Gideon and Sebastian to find a way to work through these, and try and find a way to get past it all to live the life they both yearn.
I absolutely love the Custos Securities Series, and have read the books more than once. I can’t actually pinpoint one reason why I love this series so much, but each book has been well worth the wait. If you like BDSM and an incredible background story then I would highly recommend this book, and previous and future books too
