Gareth is very upset that Axel has been sent to be his bodyguard, especially as he didn't know until he arrived back stage after a concert. At their first meeting, Gareth was calling Axel "Conan The Barbarian"!! The names that Gareth thought up for so funny, and Axel usually had a response for each one.
When Axel saves Gareth from an incident meant to harm him, Gareth soon realises that he does need Axel to protect him, and the two grow closer. Gareth actually believes that Axel is straight, but still manages to develop some deep feelings for him.
When another incident has Axel saving Gareth again, Axel finally admits to Gareth that he is also gay, and Gareth is completely dumbstruck. This actually means that Gareth's feelings go deeper, and Axel is fighting a battle with himself not to touch Gareth.
Can Gareth convince Axel that they can actually have a relationship?? Axel is sure that he would be bad news for Gareth, and even though he is so drawn to Gareth, he is not sure if it is love he is feeling, even if he would give his own life to protect Gareth.
When the disgruntled person is finally unveiled, it is not without one last incident, and this could spell the end of Gareth's dream of being with Axel.
This book is first in the series, and I can't wait to see what happens in book 2, and I hope that we still continue to hear about Gareth and Axel in future books.
