The friendship between the three is instant, the mutual attraction evident. They circle each other, wanting more, yet unsure if it is truly possible. Is life the mundane reality theyâve each come to accept for themselves or do they dare to hope?
Well, what can I say about this book... Wow, it was definitely worth waiting for. Two broken men who are just really living day to day, and one man who can make them whole again if they all take the chance. Micah and Gabe are both completely broken, both have suffered loss by for totally different reasons. Micah woke in hospital in Germany, after being involved inan attack while serving in Iraq, only to find his friends dead and part of his leg gone. Gabe had just resurrected a relationship with Gio, to have him taken during an act of violence one night.
Micah and Gabe were staying with the owners of All Cocks, Victor, Andrew and Mattie. They gave them both a home, to enable them to try and recover from their losses. While staying there, Gabe and Micah were drawn to each other, and would accept comfort from the other during the dark times. Now Enter Tristan, who feels a spark every time he is with both Gabe and Micah, but is hesitant to see if things could be more.
The three become good friends, even though both Gabe and Micah were seeing Tristan professionally too. Every time they met, Tristan feels more of a pull towards to the two men, but he would not act on it..... until the day that they all went out together, and went back to Tristan's house. This evening, Micah went upstairs to shower and when he came out Tristan was waiting for him and they kissed. Nothing else happened, and the following morning Micah confessed that he and Gabe had slept together and this broke Tristan's heart. He decided then and there that Gabe and Micah deserved happiness, and if that meant that he should step back and let them search for their happiness without him, then he would do this even though it really hurt.
Over the next few weeks, Tristan avoided being with Gabe and Micah, and felt really down, but knew it was the best thing to do - or so he thought. Gabe and Micah slowly realised that something was missing, and then that Tristan hadn't been around, but they had no idea why he was avoiding them. Tristan was so miserable, that he decided he had to come clean and tell Micah and Gabe the truth, what his true feelings were. But, when he confessed he had deep feelings for them both, not a word was spoken, and Tristan assumed this meant that his feelings were not replicated, and then made to walk out completely heartbroken.
Do Gabe and Micah stop Tristan from walking out? Do Gabe and Micah return Tristan's feelings? Is there any hope of the three of them getting together?
I have read this book about three times now, and I enjoy it more each time. This was quite the emotional read, especially with Micah and his PTSD, which made sad reading, but you needed to know what had happened to Micah to understand him better. Gabe really was like a lost little man, and he had no idea on how to deal with what life had dealt him. I loved how the relationship between the three slowly developed, and all of them more than a little afraid to take the final step.
To me this series has got better and better with each new book, and the characters from earlier books also appear in this one., and I like that you are also following up on the others. I cannot wait to see what happens with William and Beau, as from their encounter at the end of this book, things are going to be really complicated.
