This 6th installment of the Rock God Series starts right where "Meant For Me" finished. Ashton and Dante have been dealing with some heavy issues between them and Dagger knew it was time to be tough with the guys so he had set up an intervention in a rehab facility. The explosive tension in this rehab center between Ashton and Dante was so intense to say the least. Will this intervention work? Will they be able to fix their serious issues? Will they make it as a couple?

Dante has so much baggage that my heart ached for him and what he has had to endure. In the intervention they actually learned a lot about themselves and more importantly they learned about each other's past which will make the future communication so much better. I thought how Ann wrote about them locked in the room and forced to communicate was some great and brilliant writing. Now home, will they be able to adapt to what they learned in rehab and be a couple or are the differences bigger then the love they share?

Incredible hotness that the author created between these two hot alphas was OMG so hot that you will be panting and out of your mind in sexual bliss. Ann Lister can most definitely write some hot gay sex scenes and I take my hat off to her. Ann's writing for this novel and passed novels is simply some beautiful and precise writing that I find myself completely drawn to.

I love how the author gave us some updates on past characters as it was great to find out how they're doing and they're not forgotten and will always be part of the Rock God family. I found myself loving Ashton and Dante even with their huge baggage because they still have love in the hearts for each other.

I truly loved how Ann has developed this series (The Rock Gods) and the newest novel in the series is simply amazing. I love the hot and steamy connection between these characters and how Ann brings them and their love for each other to life. Ann's details of this MM love and the rock world is simply brilliant and so incredibly well done. I highly recommend Fighting His Fire and the entire Rock God Series by Ann Lister!!!

1-Who is Ann Lister and what is she all about?

That is a good question!  I've been many different women along this mad journey called life, meaning I feel as if I am constantly evolving.  Maybe when I'm a very old lady I will have finally reached my full potential.  I've also had many different careers along the way, but I've always come back to the writing.  That has been my one constant passion in life and I'll be a storyteller to the end.

2-What was it that made you want to write about gay characters and MM novels?

The first several stories I wrote and sold were MM, so I have always had an interest in writing gay characters.  I've also written in the MF genre, but it is MM that holds my heart.  I love the harder edge you can have with the MM characters.  And there is something extremely sexy about a man losing himself in an all-consuming love with another man.

3-How do you come up with such interesting gay storylines and hot characters such as in The Rock Gods Series?

I can't really explain where the story lines come from because I sometimes feel the characters themselves tell me what to write.  I know that sounds crazy, and I used to think so, too.  But, after talking with other authors about this we all explain the process the very same way.  I feel like I'm channeling real people.  They tell me their names, their back stories, their fears, and passions, and so on, and I simply put it into words for them.  It is the only way I can explain it because suddenly the details pop into my head and the story is there for me to write.  I don't have to toil over names, places, etc.  I sit down to write and the story just flows naturally.  

Dagger Drummond in Fall For Me was my first Rock God, and they say you never forget your first!  When he introduced himself to me, he had several of his “friends” with him.  As I began to tell Dagger's story, all the other characters were there quietly waiting for their turns.  Not all of their stories were clear to me in the beginning which is why the series started with Dagger, the lead singer for Black Ice, and then the series shifted to the guys in Ivory Tower.  When I got to Book 4 in the series (Looking At Forever) Dante and Ashton really started screaming in my head.  Dante can be a very persuasive man when he wants to be.  I managed to put him off long enough to get through most of writing process of Tony and Jared's story (Book 5), but finally I gave in and I ended up starting Dante's story before I had even finished Tony and Jared's.  Lincoln (Book 7) is a quiet man, so it's taken a while for him to step forward, but he's in my head now and I've already started writing his story.

4-Was it difficult researching your amazing gay sex scenes and music storyline as they're spot on?

I wouldn't call it “difficult” to write the gay sex scenes, but it is interesting to say the least.  Obviously, I'm a woman and I will never have the pleasure of having gay sex, so I treat the sex in my MM stories the same way I would any other element of a story I didn't have firsthand knowledge of: I would research it.  There are two ways I research gay sex.  The first is to ask the intimate questions to a gay man and I call them my technical advisers.  I've asked you questions before, as my technical adviser, and a few other gay men have also been very helpful to me in this same way.  My other favorite way to “research” gay sex is to watch it.  Watching gay porn is an excellent way to be sure the choreography works and how to describe what I'm seeing on screen and put it into words on paper.

The other sidebar to this topic is I think a lot of gay readers in the MM Romance genre forget that at the end of the day what we're writing is “romance”.  There has been a debate recently, largely from gay men saying women MM authors aren't writing gay sex realistically enough, and somehow doing a disservice in the process.  Since we're writing in the MM Romance genre, we keep our sex scenes “romantic”.  Yes, we write about the characters going through some of the necessary “prep” before sex, but most authors don't include all the prep (like douching and enemas, etc. prior to sex) and the reason being is most MM romance readers (being female) don't consider that to be “sexy”.  For the same reason if a woman were to read an MF romance novel, they typically wouldn't be reading about a woman having her period or bathroom habits of the characters, etc.  What the hell is sexy or romantic about that?  We base our MM sex scenes to be as close to reality as possible, while still doing our best to keep it romantic and sexy at the same time.    

5-Your fans love your characters so much, what do these characters mean to you? How close to your heart do you keep them?

What surprised me the most about the Rock Gods series is how much the readers connected with my rock stars!  I never anticipated that to happen and it thrills me to pieces that it did.  I love these men, so it means a lot when the reader feels the same emotions for them as I do. What is special about these men is they all carry a large piece of me with them – especially the last three books in the series (Books 4, 5, and 6).  If you follow the series you'll notice the men all have various personal struggles in life, much as every human does, and I drew off my own struggles to create their stories and I think that is what helped make the story feel real.  Book 7 is Lincoln's story and his struggle is extremely close to my heart.  I won't go into specifics because I don't want to ruin his story before it is told, but after you do read it, you'll understand what I mean.

6-When did you first realize that you were a writer?

I think I realized I was a storyteller long before I realized I could put the story down onto paper and other people would enjoy it.  In the early days of my “storytelling” I drove my friends crazy with my tales.  They kept urging me to write the story down and one day I finally did and Sheet Music: A Rock 'n' Roll Love Story was created.  The rest is history.

7-What genre of writing would you classify yourself with?

Well, I would have to say the answer to that is: Erotic Romance.  I started in MM and since then I have written stories in FF, MF, MMF, and now I'm back to MM, but the common denominator in my stories is they are all based in erotic romance.  I will write any story that is in my head, regardless of the genre, but the one thing my readers can always count on is it will be erotic, and it will be romantic – no matter what the gender of the characters are that are falling in love.

8-What's the most difficult element of being an author today?

For me, it is the business end of being an author, or the tasks that happen after the book is written.  To me, that is when the work comes into the equation.  Writing the story is the easy part for me.  The rest of it is a “job” which requires me to work seven days a week to stay on top of everything.

9-What advice would you give an author, just starting out, who wants to write gay fiction?

I would say first, find your “author voice” and stay true to it in your stories.  Second, get to know your target market, what they like, and what they don't like to read in their MM stories.  Know your genre and be present in that community, whether it be via social media, or out at public events like book signings or Pride gatherings.  An author's voice should extend beyond the pages of their books to some extent.

10-Where would you like to see your career in 10 years from now?

My fantasy would be to see my Rock Gods come to life in the next ten years on film.  How cool would it be to see the guys in Black Ice and Ivory Tower actually performing on stage?  I'm sure every author wants to see their books made into films, but I really do think visually my stories would translate well onto film.  Beyond the fantasy of the Rock Gods being in movies, I see myself continuing to write 2-3 books a year for as long as my mind is capable.

11-If a reader hasn't read any of your books yet, which one would you recommend?

At the end of August I will have 11 titles in print and all but 2 books have musical themes, so my suggestions are all based on that.  If the reader loves MM, then I would suggest they give Book 1, “Fall For Me” a try.  Not only do I feel it is a good introduction to my writing style, but Book 1 is also a great place to start getting to know the characters in the Rock Gods series.  If the reader enjoys MF, I might suggest “Covered In Lace: The Lacey Sheridan Story”.

12-What is it that you believe draws a large amount of female readers to MM novels?

I write romance, so I can only speak for the MM romance genre.  That being said, women love romance.  That is the bottom line.  The fact so many women are drawn to MM romance is because two men together is HOT.  I get asked this question a lot by straight men (Why would women want to read about two guys together?) and I explain it to them like this.  Many straight men find watching two women together is sexy, so why wouldn't straight women find two men together sexy?  It is as simple as that.



13-What is something that you would like your readers to know about you?

I love hearing from them, so don't be afraid to reach out to me!

14-What do you want to be remembered for most?

That I was a good person, mother, wife, and friend, loyal to those I loved, fearless when I had to be, generous in spirit, and I had a wicked sense of humor.  And mostly, that I loved to tell a great story.  

15-What do your readers mean to you and how interactive are you with them?

It took me a LONG time to believe I actually had “readers” and now I am beyond grateful for having them!  An author spends a large amount of time locked away in their writing caves and we don't get to meet or hear from the majority of our readers.  So, when one of them reaches out to me or comes to a book signing to meet me . . . I am blown away by that.  Some of the private messages or public posts I get from my readers moves me to tears.  Without them, I would not be doing this interview with you because no one would know who I was.  The passion the readers have is enormous and I have crazy, mad love and huge appreciation for each and every one of them.

16-Do you have a Philosophy by which you live?

 “Life's a journey, not a destination.” ~ Steven Tyler

Live every day like it is your last and experience everything you possibly can along the way because life is short.  There are no “do-overs”.  If you make a mistake, learn from it, and move on.  Don't be afraid to say: I'm sorry.  And never, ever apologize for who you are – who you were born to be.  Love is love.

17-What is your favourite curse word?

Oh, that question is easy!  My favorite curse word is: Fuck.  I am a big fan of that particular word, and all the variations of it, too . . . fucking, fucker, motherfucker, and so on.  The variations are endless and so much fun to use!

18-What was the last book you read and your thoughts on it?

Here's the thing with that question.  I'm friends with a lot of authors and I couldn't possibly have time to read all their books and still have time to write my own.  So to prevent any hurt feelings, I tend to shy away from publicly announcing what I am reading.  What I like to do instead of publicly saying which books I'm reading or have already read, is I'll send the author a private message to express how their story resonated with me.  I don't want to come off sounding as an endorser so much, but if a book really rocks my world, I'll definitely be sending the author a private message to show my appreciation of their hard work.  I show my love for my author friends by publicly sharing the buy links for their new releases.    

19-If you could come back as any animal or mammal, what would it be and why?

I fully intend to come back as a very slutty gay man.  Humans are mammals, so that works for your question, right?  LOL.  Besides, I'm convinced I was a gay man in a previous life, so it makes perfect sense to come back as one in my next life.  And since I'm all about experiencing the possibilities in life, it explains why I came back in this life as a straight woman.

20-Lastly, any hints on your next book that you might be working on?

I am currently writing Book 7 in The Rock Gods series, which is Lincoln's story. He's the bass player for Black Ice and the quiet, introvert of the group.  The readers will soon find out why Lincoln keeps to himself so much and shys away from relationships or personal contact in general.  Lincoln story will complete the characters in Ivory Tower and Black Ice, but it won't be the end of the series.  That's a hint of what is to come without giving anything away!

I totally loved this book - I loved it more than Helping Hand. (so much so that I have read this about three times already, and I will read it again.  I loved all the emotion between Rupert and Josh, and was reading pray they would both get their HEA).

Josh to me, comes across as a very sensitive person, but also someone who has had to find a way to finance a way to see himself through uni with no debts - and the only way he has found is to be an escort. I don't think he is happy with this, but hey what else can he do to get the money he needs to pay his tuition and keep a roof over his head.. 

Rupert and Josh meet when they are both stood up one night, and seem to hit it off, and when Rupert mentions spending the evening with Josh, he is astounded when Josh says it will cost him!!  Rupert is thrown by his reply, but almost straight away he agrees to pay Josh.

Rupert is totally smitten with Josh, and pays to spend time with Josh, and over time he increases it to more than one day.  Rupert is falling for Josh in a big way, and Josh has feelings for Rupert, but I don't think he has any idea of what they are, as to me it is like he has never had anyone love and cherish him before.

Things all come to a head, when Rupert has to attend his mothers wedding, and he decides to ask Josh to accompany him, paying him for the whole weekend they would be away.  However, during the reception after the wedding, his new stepfather confronts Rupert and Josh about dancing and kissing, and in defending Josh, Rupert admits he is in love with Josh.

In the second installment the vibe of the story is different which is really cool. In the story the porn site they own is not the main focus but how they came to be together is. They have to work at the new relationship as Mattie has severe baggage such as a vicious rape that he has to overcome with their love and support.

I was completely connected to these characters and felt their love and their pain in such a huge degree of emotions and that is only due to the great writing of TM Smith. It's been a few days since I finished the story and I can't get Victor, Andy and Mattie out of my head....thanks Tammy...lol With some experience of being in a threesome I was really impressed how the author developed their threesome relationship in such a realistic and honest way and that is no easy task so hats off to the author. The pages flowed so rapidly and smooth but I had a hard time putting it down. Tammy creates such hot and sexy characters and they will be with me for sometime to come. Everyone please get a copy of Fame and Fortune as you won't regret it!

But I so love the cover model we used for Mattie, he just looks forelorn, very fitting for the character

We meet Lennon, who knows he is gay, and he has arranged a whole day with his best friend for them both to see if they are gay or not. The only problem with what he has arranged, is look at what the world perceives as what gay people would do.

The day starts well enough, but as it goes on it gets worse and worse, and I think even Lennon starts to have second thoughts about what he has arranged..  Fin is from a well to do family, and I think he is afraid to actually explore his sexuality, especially as his family seemed determined to ignore where he wants to go to college, and seem to be trying to arrange his life for him.

Lennon seems to be getting more and more upset as the days goes on, even though he is determined for them both to experience as many gay things as possible..... but the trip to do things does not end well.

Things then go from bad to worse when they return to Lennon's home.  Is Fin able to admit that he is gay??  Do Fin and Lennon remain friends after this day??

I jumped at the chance to review this book - I have read it before, and this was my first shifter book from Cardeno C.

This story starts with Zev being pressured to take a mate, as most Alphas are mated early in their life... so Zev's family are telling him that he should have been mated by now.  Zev was tired of telling his family he was waiting for his true mate, and in the end said he would find his true mate soon.

The story of Zev and Jonah begins when they are only 1 year old, and you learn their story growing up.  They end up having a great friendship growing up, and it is not until Jonah is due to go to College, that he reveals his true feelings to Zev, and Zev's first reaction was to run away from Jonah.  

Later that day, Zev realises that he cannot lose Jonah, and goes back to see Jonah but in his wolf form.  He stays all night with Jonah, and leaves in the morning., only to return again in his human form, and at this time confesses to Jonah that he too has feelings for Jonah. Zev has come to the conclusion that Jonah is his true mate.

Jonah has a dream of becoming a doctor, and Zev decides that he cannot be truthful to Jonah about what he is, until after Jonah has completed all his training to be a doctor - however, what he did not realise is how hard both he and Jonah would find waiting and the being apart, with both of them feeling so unwell.

When Jonah has finally finished all his training, he returns to Zev, and this is when Zev finally confesses to Jonah who he is, but there are a few surprises that Jonah has too.

GMR - 5 STAR REVIEW

I have to say that Ethan is my favourite shifter character from Mates Series.  To begin with, he comes across as a sickly and a wolf shifter who is unable to shift -  but this could not be further from the truth.

Ethan and some others decide to go into town to attack the vampires there, and when the vampires realise they are there, the others with Ethan just run and leave him.  Ethan is hurt, and thinks he is going to get his honorable death, but instead he manages to shift into his wolf.

One mean vampire is called Miguel, and rather than be afraid of him, Ethan is totally drawn to him, and then realises that he is actually his true mate - though he has to try and convince Miguel that this is the case.

Miguel is also drawn to Ethan, although he has no idea why, and he can also hear the blood pumping around Ethan's body which seems to be calling to him.  However, he doesn't do anything except send Ethan away.  Ethan feels complete when he is with Miguel and keeps going back to find him, and this is when Ethan also discovers that if he bleeds, he is then able to shift into his wolf form.  

Ethan decides to take things into his own hands and make Miguel see that they are destined to be true mates, so he leaves a note for his sister and goes back to find Miguel. However, things don't quite go according to plan, and when he does find Miguel, he has been chained to a wall by another vampire, who seems to have a deep hated for Miguel.

Is Ethan able to help Miguel?  What will happen to Miguel when and if he feeds from Ethan?  Do Ethan and Miguel have any kind of future especially as Miguel does not believe they are true mates.

GMR - 5 STAR REVIEW

Samuel is one character that I managed to hate one minute, and then really feel for the next!!   Samuel and Korban meet when they are both young, and Samuel doesn't understand what is happening to him each time he sees Korban.  Korban however (to me anyway) seems to realise that they are destined to be together at an early age - but there is no way that Samuel would listen to him, he is too set in the ways of the elders and the shifter laws he has memorized.  

Samuel is also keeping a big secret about his shifting abilities, which is all down to the fact that he had not tied with anyone in the pack. Samuel had no interest in the females of the pack, which he knew he needed to tie with to ensure he could shift effortlessly between human and wolf form.  What Samuel was sure of though, was that he could not tie with a female.

Samuel is forced to take over the pack when his father is challenged by the Alpha of another pack and killed, but this is when his problem with relating to people really comes to the forefront.  Samuel knows the shifter laws, and when it becomes apparent that foul play was afoot when his father was killed, he decides that a tribute from the neighbouring pack is in order.

Samuel is expecting the alpha of the neighbouring pack to be brought to him, but instead it is Korban, and Samuel is then so confused by what he feels for Korban, that he cannot kill him, but instead imprisons him until he can fathom out what all these feelings mean to him.  

All becomes much more confusing for Samuel when he ties with Korban in his wolf form, while Korban is imprisoned.  He is so upset with himself, that he leaves and locks Korban in.  However, when other pack members come to kill Korban, Samuel in there in a flash to defend him, and when he tales Korban into his house, and sleeps well for the first time in forever, he realises that Korban is his true mate.

Samuel and Korbans problems then start, as Samuel is still too set in his ways by the shifter book laws, and it is up to Korban to help him find his more compassionate side.  There is also the added problem of Korbans father, who is still alive, but wants to see his own son dead.
When Korbans life is in danger, will Samuel manage to save him?? Will his pack accept him with a man for his true mate??
