Rob’s mood improves considerably as he watches Father Christmas hand out presents. Not only is Santa a hot red-head under the beard, he is also one of his rugby team-mates, Mick, a man Rob has always lusted after. After Mick confesses a mutual interest, he agrees to meet Rob at With A Kick’s evening party.
And at this party, there are definitely no kids - or girls - allowed.
Note: Though this book is part of With a Kick series, it can be read as a standalone.
Bells and Balls (With A Kick Series but can be read as a standalone as well) by Sue Brown!
Rob has fun plans for the weekend but they didn't involve babysitting his 5 year old niece that he doesn't know very well. He has now accepted that he has no choice but to spend the day with Pearl so he sets out for London and all the sights it has to offer. Rob takes his niece to an ice-cream shop called With A Kick. He is not thrilled when the shop is closed but the owners allow Pearl to stay for the private party. Rob is bored already until he notices the Santa at the party as he is one of his rugby mates.....Mick. Rob has always been hot for Mick but wasn't sure the feelings were mutual until Mick confesses he has the same feelings for Rob. They both agree to meet at With A Kick for a night party and no nieces or girls are allowed at this party!
I really enjoyed the authors writing style and the humour she uses with these characters especially Robs which was so much fun to read. This is my first novel by Sue Brown and it won't be my last by any means. Rob's nickname for his sister in-law was hilarious...NEMESIS and then that phone call with his brother was some great writing. I was completely cracking up as Rob was trying so hard to figure out why babysitting was so damn important and not clueing in at all until it was thrown in his face.
The real fun times begin at With A Kick as both Rob and Mick are attracted to each other ever since they started playing on the same rugby team. Neither of them is out yet but that doesn't stop them from falling for each other. Their road to being together is messy but so worth it. The author told their story of acceptance and love in such a beautiful and brilliant way. Her description of the characters and their families and how being gay affects everyone was so well done and in such a profound and realistic manor. I for one simply enjoyed this novel Bells and Balls by Sue Brown. !
Sue discovered M/M erotica at the time she woke up to find two men kissing on her favorite television series. The series was boring; the kissing was not. She may be late to the party, but she's made up for it since, writing fan fiction until she was brave enough to venture out into the world of original fiction.
