Now for a first, I really wasn't sure of one of the MC's, in this case Clover. There wasn't anything specific, but something about him really didn't sit right with me, and I didn't like him from the beginning. Now Clover has not had an easy life, and was then thrust into the human trafficking ring, from where he is saved by four bounty hunters.
Now the bounty hunters I loved from meeting them, they all seemed so different, but they are a family, even if not by blood. The four men - Tank, Pyro, Boar and Drake all look out for each other, and will always be there for each other - or at least they would until they rescued someone from the human trafficking ring.
Being albino means that Clover can not be hidden, as he stands out. Tank is strangely drawn to Clover from the beginning, although the other three are not so sure of him. He pleads with them to protect him, and reluctantly they agree. At this point, Clover is not always honest with them, and he also seems to try and hold in his feelings.
The more time they spend together, the bigger the bond begins to build between Clover, Tank, Pyro and Boar. However, Drake is still very suspicious of Clover, and it seems that nothing will change his mind, until he then sees Clover react to something, and then the walls come tumbling down.
They still have a bigger problem, and that Clover is still not safe, as someone still wants him, so the group decide that they must do something to make him safe, but will this put him in more danger?
I will say that it took me a little while to read this book, but once I got to the last third of the book, I could not put it down, as I just needed to know what was going to happen, and it was not what I expected. I will be looking out for the second book in the series though, as I also need to know what happens next.
