We met Alek in book 1, and this was when he met his beloved Bell for the first time - and not in a good way!!
As you read, you learn more about Alek, and his life growing up, and also about his secret, that he hides from everyone, to the extent of making sure he lives far from everyone in the pack. Alek actually feels that he is not worthy of a true love like Bell, and he even hides his secret from him.
Bell seems conflicted about having a true love, he has worked hard to get to where he is, and to me, it comes across that he feels he will be seen as less of a man, if he submits to his alpha - especially an alpha who doesn't seem able to control his wolf.
Alek and Bell do spend more time together, but Alek will not claim Bell, but the more time Bell spends with Alek, he realises he is hiding something, but he isn't sure what, but he does soon realise it is something inside Alek, something more than just his wolf.
With rebellions and unrest going on around them, the story will keep you totally gripped, and you are willing Alek and Bell to work everything out and become true mates, but before this can happen, Alek knows that he must reveal his secret to Bell, and hope that he will still want to be true mates once it is revealed.
I love the back story really building up, and it is obvious that it is not the end, as nothing has been resolved. I also believe that Mac will be due a story soon, and not in the way he was thinking either, I think when he gets his HFN, it will be totally different to what he envisioned.
A.E. has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Virginia Wesleyan College that she used to start her own paralegal firm after she graduated in 2008. She spent five years preparing and filing bankruptcy petitions for struggling blue collar workers who couldn’t afford to file with a lawyer. It was a rewarding and satisfying career… but another path called to her. Writing.
A.E.’s writing embodies everything from hopelessly romantic to adventure, to scandalous. Her stories often include intriguing edges and twists that take readers to new, thought-provoking depths.
Now that she’s gotten over her 10 books published hump, she’s kind of known now for her hardcore, play rough and love hard, bad boy, alphas. However, she does like to push herself to step out of her comfort zone, exploring different tropes, but she won’t push herself into a whole other genre. She’s head over heels for gay romance and she has tons of more hot stories to tell.
