Alphas from Jobe Root’s family have led the Red River pack from the first day shifters walked the earth. Now the time has come for Jobe to fulfill his destiny, but to do that, he needs his mate by his side. Spiritual, easygoing Jobe reveres Mother Nature and trusts in fate, yet he can’t help being nervous about how his mate will react to his new life in Red River, his new life with Jobe.
Two Alphas with contrasting personalities, different upbringings, and divergent beliefs come together for the good of their packs. But to stay together, Wesley and Jobe must see beyond the surface and embrace every facet of themselves and their union.
Welsey Stone always assumed he would become alpha of his pack - Purple Sky. But his pack would not accept him due to his "differences", they felt uncomfortable and did not see him as alpha material. His uncle, the current alpha is getting too old to be alpha, and decides to make a trade with another pack - Wesley will go to this pack and mate with the alpha, and the second alpha from the Red River will take up the role of Alpha at Purple Sky.
Needless to say, Wesley feels totally rejected by his pack, and proceeds to leave as soon as he can. He arrives at his new pack Red River, but is not sure how to act or even how to speak to people. I really felt for him, as he was away from everything he knew, but now knowing what they thought of him he just wanted to get away. He came across as both angry and sad when he meets the alpha of Red River called Jobe. Matters weren't helped by a naked man in Jobes house either, and already feeling insecure, this made Wesley withdraw Into himself.
Slowly day by day, Jobe erodes away at the protective shell that Wesley seems to have around himself, and the two men grow closer. They enjoy each other's company, and spend the evenings talking., which is when Wesley realises that Jobe is a,so an alpha, and once mated they would both be the alpha of Red River. They actually balance each other out, but it took a while for Wesley to realise this, and to also find out that Jobe was in fact his fated mate.
The two men finally consummate their mating, but not without the inevitable happening - Wesley becomes pregnant, and at this time finds out that was his old pack thought was a deformed scar on his stomach, was actually something quite different. It was down to his Jobe to explain things to him, and to tell him that Red River thought they were blessed to have Wesley in their pack.
I really do like this series, and I am hoping that there will be other stories too - especially a story about the omega Ricky.
