Shawn is on the run from the law and love to protect himself and anyone else involved. One man is dead because of him, and his life now is simple and easily thrown into a bag at any hint of danger. Until he meets Hunter, and he no longer wants to run.
Forced into a hostage situation, buried passion explodes in the aftermath, and sex in the supply closet brings their hearts back to life. Tentatively, step by step they begin to explore a relationship together until the past catches up with Shawn.
FBI agent Nick Truman has finally found his man, but when Shawn escapes, he focuses his attention on Hunter. Shawn returns, even though it means sacrificing himself to save Hunter from the man who framed him for murder.
I wasn’t sure about the MC’s when I first started reading, especially Shawn – there was just something that didn’t sit right with me about him, can’t exactly pin down what bothered me though. Hunter seems too good to be true, in some ways just like a do-gooder.
They meet at the hospital where they both work, and although it is obvious they are attracted to each other, and Hunter has asked Shawn out, Shawn refused saying he was already with someone – however this all changed when they are both taken hostage at the hospital.
When everything is resolved, and with having such a close call to death, Hunter and Shawn succumb to the passion inside them, rather than wait to take things further they go into a supply closet. This seems to be the start of a relationship, and they had made arrangements to go away together, when suddenly Shawn just disappears…..
I am not going to spoil and say what happens, but this book will keep you totally gripped, and the twists and turns keep you hooked.
There’s lots of rum poolside for relaxing and a room with a mirror on the ceiling for passion. Hot karaoke nights, cold beer, and new friends.
Their new friends Orfeo and Max, and Max’s sister Talisha, share a troubling secret. Alex and Hunter want to help. As a hurricane bears down on them, a dead body surfaces, and a purple backpack loaded with stolen jewels leads a gang of dangerous men to the island.
Alex would rather poke his own eyes out with a pointy stick than call on his old enemy Nick Truman for help; he’d also do anything to keep Hunter out of danger. But even his old nemesis can’t reach them now.
Once again, they only have each other to depend on as their paradise is about to become hell on earth.
It soon becomes obvious to both Alex and Hunter that Orfeo, Max and Talisha are keeping a huge secret, and all three are really unsettled and nervous too. What could be their huge secret?? After all they have been through, Hunter and Alex both want to help the three, but keep getting brushed off.
However, when a hurricane is due to hit the island of Saba, everything changes and the huge secret is revealed, but not without causing even more problems. Add in a dead body that appears on the beach and things really go from bad to worse.
Yet again, there are twists and turns will again keep you hooked, and you will not be able to put it down until you find out what happens.
I am eagerly awaiting book 3 in the series, which is about one of the other characters in both previous books, and I hope that this one is as good as these - watch this space, I will be reviewing that book at the end of the month.
