This scene takes place during the events of the first book, when Domenico and Seth are on their mission in Berlin. It was originally cut from the book, but you can read it even without knowing the story!

Seth was so busy following his target that he neglected remaining vigilant about his surroundings. A flash of color hit him out of nowhere, and the paper cup with coffee he’d been holding floated through the air before hitting the pavement. The other body smashed into him at such speed the impact made Seth’s chest compress and sent him to the ground, breathless and grasping at his aching ribs. He drew in a sharp breath, barely registering a series of words that were just as fast and as eloquent as a series of shots from a machine gun.
Unhappy with being put in this position in a public place, Seth quickly rose, facing a tall, handsome guy with long blond hair, a squarish jaw, and the cherry on top in the form of an apologetic smile.
“Sorry.” Seth let go of his side, unwilling to present such a sorry sight. “I don’t speak German.”
A flash of understanding passed through the blond’s face, and he smiled, picking up his skateboard. “Are you okay?” he asked with a strong accent
Seth smiled with relief and looked at the scraped skin on his palm. “Yeah, I’m fine.” He used the napkin that he’d gotten with his coffee to pat the wound dry. His eyes darted to the guy’s T-shirt, which had ‘I’m an acquired taste’ printed on the front. After what Dom had put him through in the last two weeks, the scratch was nothing, so his smile widened. “Does that T-shirt work for you?”
The guy glanced at his shoes, his cheekbones flushing, but smiled at Seth. “What can I say, flirting is too much effort.”
“And the girls flock to that?” Seth tested the ground, looking straight into the skater’s green eyes. The guy was cute in this normal everyday way that made Seth feel safe about this encounter. Nothing like Domenico’s razor-sharp profile and equally biting temper. “I have one saying ‘Italians do it better’. Works wonders.”
The guy chuckled, stepping closer with a smile so wide, Seth could see his gums. “So I’ve heard.”
Seth grinned as well, ignoring the napkin soaking with blood. “You could show me a few tricks with that,” he pointed to the skateboard, “and I could show you a few tricks only Italians know.”
The skater licked his lips and captured Seth’s gaze for longer than Seth would have expected from a straight man, the muscles of his jaw tightening. “Sure, I could take you someplace more private.”
“Germans are so resourceful.” Seth winked at him and gently pulled at the hem of the guy’s T-shirt. “I’m Seth.” He held out his hand.
The blond squeezed it with his own, long fingered and hot. “Stefan. I’m really sorry for not being cautious enough.” Stefan’s attempt at touching Seth was as good an excuse as any. His warm fingers slid down Seth’s bicep, clearly feeling it up.
“It’ll be fine. I just need to put it under water…” Seth leaned closer, to smell Stefan, but a warm arm and an all-too-familiar scent stopped him in his tracks.
He looked back at Dom, his eyes widening. “Oh, hi…”
Dom was supposed to be out of town all day. That was why Seth was stuck watching their target on his own. How the hell had Dom found him in a city of almost four million people?
Domenico ignored Seth’s presence, and when he started talking, it was in German.
Seth broke out in cold sweat, looking between him and Stefan. All Seth had wanted was a bit of freedom from his leash, and the tight collar Domenico had put around his neck. Wasn’t he even allowed that much?
“I... Is there a misunderstanding?” Seth asked, frustrated by his lack of language skills.
“No misunderstandings,” said Domenico in Italian, pinning Seth to the ground with a single glare of his sharp amber eyes. “This fucker is buggering off now.”
Stefan gave Seth a tight smile and put down the skateboard, about to glide out of reach. “Sorry. I didn’t know you were taken.”
Seth howled on the inside. He wasn’t taken. He was his own man, and Domenico Acerbi had no right to dictate where he could stick his dick.
He watched the cute orange waistband peeking out from under Stefan’s low-hanging jeans until it disappeared in the crowd.
Domenico squeezed Seth’s nape. “Don’t even think about it.”
Domenico Acerbi. The Villani Family’s best assassin. Ruthless. Vicious. With no patience for weakness.
Seth Villani. The Don’s son. Clueless. Stubborn. In dire need of someone to keep him in line.
Domenico Acerbi grew up ready to give his life for the Family. Ready to follow orders and exceed expectations. A proud man of honor.
The last thing he wants to deal with is training the Don’s son for his future role within the organization. Lazy, annoying, spoiled, and as hot as a Sicilian summer, Seth Villani is no mafia material. But a man who could never become a threat might just be what Domenico needs.
Seth Villani wants nothing to do with the mafia. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get a say when he’s pulled back into the fold. Thrown into a den of serpents otherwise known as the Villani Family, Seth has to find a way to navigate the maze of lies. But when Domenico Acerbi, the most vicious snake of them all, sinks his fangs into Seth, letting go becomes impossible.
If Seth is doomed to follow in his father's footsteps, he might as well enjoy himself with the most intoxicating man he’s ever met. Maybe he can even fool himself into believing that Domenico isn’t a handsome sociopath who kills for a living.
