Jase and Bryan hit it off straight away once they met, and were best friends wherever they were based. Bryan was gay, totally attracted to Jase, but Jase was married, although he had admitted to Bryan during some drunken moments to being with men. They had a week together mostly in bed, and then when home they were separated again.
They meet again a year later, and this time Jase has his baby son with him as well as his vicious, malicious and vindictive wife. She goes off to party with others, leaving Jase, Bryan and baby Grayson. The two men spend as much time together as possible, but again Bryan will put what others think before his own happiness.
Bryan had never forgotten Jase, even though it is had been many years since they has either spoken or text each other. He had tried to call Jase, but was unable to connect. There was a reason for that, but I will let you read the book to find out. Bryan had started seeing somebody else, and admitted about his love for Jase, so they were taking baby steps in their relationship. All was going well until Bryan attended Gen Con and literally run into Jase and Gray there.......
Bryan by this time was now divorced, and had Gray full time, and had also decided to leave the service too. He knew where Bryan was meant to be and decided to relocate there in the hope of finding Bryan again. When they do meet, it is like they have never been apart, the attraction is still there, and if possible stronger than ever. Bryan has a large apartment and ask Jase and Gray to stay with him while looking for their own place, but it all changes and they are making a life for the three of them....... until the fateful day that Gray answers the door buzzer to Bryan's totally homophobic parents, who find them cuddling in bed.
Jase is scared that his parents will take Gray away from him, and so to protect everyone he goes along with what his father says. Bryan is left totally devastated as it seems like he has lost Jase and Gray all over again. Bryan has no idea of what is happening, or who to turn to. Jase on the other hand, is doing everything his father says, but deep inside he is missing Bryan desperately. Will Jase ever be able to stand up to his father? Will Jase have the balls to go back to where he should be - which is by Bryans side raising Gray? What will Jase do??
âLater,â was all I had the ability to mouth to him before the shuttle squealed into the hotel parking lot.
