When Jasper first sees Liam, and senses how fragile he is, he has a protective aura pass over him, as well as a deep anger that someone would hurt another. Rather than be afraid of Jasper, Liam seems strangely drawn to him, but isn’t sure why. Added into this is that Liam doesn’t think that anyone would find him attractive looking like he does at that present time.
They all went out to celebrate New Year, and during this time one of the family members disappears, and then they find out that Liam’s ex-boyfriend is in the area. This heaps loads more guilt on Liam, that somebody could be hurt because of him, and how can Jasper and his family stand to look at him, when this is all his fault.
However, this seems to be when the bond between Jasper and Liam seems to grow stronger, and it when they realise that they are both attracted to each other, and decide to see where it will end up. However, Liam still has the guilt of what happened to him, plus the family member to contend with and Jasper still has memories of what happened to him in College. On top of all this are the wedding preparations for Sean and Simon, and the batchelor party in Vegas - could these two combined be the last thing to cause problems for Jasper and Liam??
This is quite a fast paced book, and things happen thick and fast. To me personally, it seems that Liam and Jasper seem to gel very quickly, and then everything takes off almost at once. Nothing else was mentioned about the injuries that Liam sustained, and no further doctor visits were mentioned either, which I think may have added to the story. At the end of the book, things are set up quite nicely for the next book, but it could be either of two other characters, so we will have to wait and see who gets a story next.
