Arbor is great, he has rather a chip on his shoulder due to his height, and I think sometimes he acts before thinking things through properly. It is like all people see is the fact he is a dwarf, but not the person inside, and people always assume that being small means he can't do things - nothing could be more wrong.
Costa.... hmm, what about Costa. I wasn't sure about him, there was something not right, but nothing I could put my finger on. He is a para-human, which he is hiding from everyone as it would mean his immediate extermination.
Now Priest.... he really is a jack the lad, always getting himself into trouble, although I must say sometimes it is not his fault. Priest is drawn to both Costa and Arbor for very different reasons. Arbor has taken a total dislike to Costa, so there is no way that Priest would be able to have them both.
On a voyage to Omoikane, strange things begin to happen on the Santa Claus, although nobody knows why. Arbor begins to get his suspicions about Costa, but has nothing concrete to back anything up. The situation isn't helped as Arbor is attracted to Priest, but just when he thinks he is getting somewhere with him, Priest seems to be back in bed with Costa.
Costa has a huge secret, which could mean the end of the Santa Claus if Priest doesn't agree to help him. Priest agrees to help, but it seems like Costa may have left things to late, and there is nothing anyone can do to stop the catastrophic events that will inevitably happen on the Santa Claus.
This book will keep you hooked, and if you are like me, you will get annoyed with Priest, Costa and Arbor at times! I just could not put this down once I had started, and just had to know what was going to happen, and it totally wasn't what I expected.. I really do look forward to reading more in this series.
