Wow!! As I began reading, I was pulled in from the first page, and this continued for the rest of the book. We first meet Justice, who is the Alpha Zenith of the wolf shifters. We also meet his brothers and sister, who are also alphas, but Justice is the Alpha of all Alphas in the Wolf Shifter packs. We also meet Wick, who is the Vampire King. He is adorable even if he is a vampire!! He also takes his legacy very seriously. I guess sometimes he was coming over as sort of cold, not having a heart at all - but perhaps it was because he has never met anyone who made him feel otherwise.
Two completely different men, but for whom the fates have decided they should be true mates – however, someone should have warned Justice and Wick what was about to happen. The two meet, and all Justice can hear his wolf telling him that is my mate. Wick is not doing any better, as he can hear the blood running through Justice calling out to him to feed.
After their first meeting, neither Justice or Wick wanted to believe what it was they were feeling, and went their separate ways…… but The Mother has decreed they should be together, so the mating forces are working at full force to try and overcome their stubbornness – and boy was there some hot sex to read about when they accepted the mate bond. However, there is something special about Wick, and as soon as they bond this is revealed, and I am not sure who was more surprised.
Can Wick and Justice accept each other as they are? Will things change for them both, they are as different as chalk and cheese?
To me, I loved the concept of this book, I have read other shifter books, but I found this one to be so different, especially as their biggest enemy was human. As you read, it soon becomes obvious that sometimes opposites are more compatible than you realise, and together they can become more or less invincible.
