Now Owen is one MC that I had mixed feelings for. I did feel really sorry for him for happened to him growing up, with all the bullying, but he sure did hold a grudge against the people who did it. But then again, I could understand why he felt like that, and would probably be like he was.
Now Brody was one of the people in the gang that bullied Owen and made his teenage years hell. You would think that you would really dislike Brody, but I have to say that is not the case, especially when you realise why he acted like he did - doesn't excuse what he did, but you do understand.
Owen and Brody meet, and not in the best of circumstances, and before he realised who he was, Owen was attracted to Brody. He could not believe that he could be attracted to someone who had made his school life so bad. Brody is not happy to be back in Haven's Cove, the one place he thought he had escaped.
The two finally manage to talk, and Owen is surprised that he begins to understand himself why Brody acted like he did at school. The hardest part for Brody though, is to reveal the one truth about himself that Owen has no idea about, but even more important would Owen actually believe him.
Both men realise that they could have something special, buit it is always their past that will come back and haunt them, but will they be able to work their way through the things, and have something magical between them?
I really did enjoy this story, so much so that I sat in read in one go, once I started reading, I just wanted to finish and see what happened to them. I really do hope that there will be more books in this series.
