When we first meet Trace and Ryder, it is in a hotel room, and a night of hot sex seems to suit them both. The next morning however is when they actually find out each others surnames and everything between them crashes and burns
We then join them two years later. Ryder has never forgotten that night, but Trace I wasn't so sure about. Trace knew he was gay, but his father Cage, seemed to ignore that and was determined to have him married off to a sweet southern girl chosen by him obviously. Trace to me, just didn't seem to be able to stand up to his father, it was like was just accepting whatever he said.
Ryder them begins a merger with Lyons, and has to deal with Cage Lyons. To begin with Trace is absent, but then attends a meeting with his father, and when he and Ryder meet later it is clear the fireworks from two years ago are still around.
The only way that Ryder can see of having Trace with him, is to pur forward a new merger agreement, which includes a clause for Trace to become his husband - an arranged marriage. Trace is totally against this, but his father Cage thinks it is a splendid idea, especially with the pay off Trace would receive after a year.
The marriage takes place, but things are far from smooth for the two. They did talk, but not about their feelings or their relationship. Ryder can see that Trace is not happy, but believes they can work through things..... until Cage came to him, telling him he was there to take his son home where he belonged, and handing Ryder some legal documents. When Ryder looked at the documents, he realised although he loved Trace totally and completely, the feeling were certainly not returned.
Is there any chance for Ryder and Trace?? Will Trace actually grow some and stand up to his father, and more importantly, will he admit how he feels to Ryder?? At this point, I just wanted to reach in and hug Ryder, and was really ready to slap Trace hard !
